  1. It makes so much sense. Mayfield is an elite gamer who makes people better. Sit him behind Tyrod for as long as you can, and when his time comes he'll have one of the best offensive supporting casts in the league to play with. Throw in the fact that they might get Barkley at #4, and that offense could be lethal.
  2. The Giants won't be in a position to draft a top QB again for several years. If they get a shot at Darnold, I don't see anyway they pass on him. It's an unbelievably deep RB class, and they can grab an impact player there in round 2.
  3. If Mayfield goes #1 I think we're screwed. Allen going #1 was great. Darnold going #1 was fine. If Mayfield goes #1, I think it's more likely than not that QBs go 1-2-3 and we'll be in serious trouble.
  4. Makes sense. Baker Mayfield upgrades their offense enormously. Mayfield, with Josh Gordon, Jarvis Landry and David Njoku could be an amazing offense. They also might have a shot at Barkley at 4, and if they don't, they can trade down and try to pick up picks to grab a franchise LT.
  5. It's not going to cause any problems for them. Eli Manning is 37 years old and has been steadily declining for 3 years. They need a QB of the future and it's a perfect situation for a QB to step into with no expectations to start immediately.
  6. Maybe. I think there was too much talk about a month ago about how the Giants love him. I think he's the guy the Giants want, and if he's gone they pick Barkley instead or trade down if we give them 3 first round picks.
  7. Good breakdown. I've read about a dozen of these breakdowns, and I have no idea how anyone is discussing Josh Allen as a 1st round pick. When you read his scouting reports, you think you're reading about a 4-5th round pick.
  8. He'll be a Giant. The whole reason they haven't traded down yet is because they're waiting to see if he'll be available #2 overall.
  9. I don't think size matters to them. As McDermott recently said, they covet accuracy. Hopefully that means we like Mayfield or Rosen because they're the two guys I want. If Mayfield goes #1, our draft is completely pooched. Will go #1 Mayfield, #2 Darnold, #3 Rosen, #4 Barkley, and we better not get trigger happy and trade up for crappy Josh Allen just to get somebody.
  10. I can't see Mayfield getting past the Jets. The QB most likely to slide is Josh Allen (because he's terrible).
  11. I think the Bills want Mayfield. I think the word on the street is that we want to get ahead of the Jets to pick him, and the Browns are willing to see if we'll give up a kings ransom to get him because they know that if they do pick him or Allen, Darnold goes #2 and we're completely screwed in our quest for a QB knowing the Jets will take one.
  12. Makes sense. Take Mayfield @ #1, pick Barkley @ #4. Keep in mind they have Josh Gordon, Jarvis Landry and David Njouku and that offense could be scary good next season.
  13. The Josh Allen projection is similar to when players used to come into the NBA straight out of high school. Didn't matter if the guy wouldn't hit a free throw, if he was 6'10 or taller, with decent athleticism and some eye hand coordination, someone would pick those guys in the Lottery at the top of the 1st round under the hope that they'll learn how to shoot and defend, and fill out their lanky frame. Allen is the same thing. Scouts see a 6'5, 235 "specimen" of a QB and they put all his major flaws aside under the premise they can fix him and 3-4 years down the road he'll be a decent player. The problem is in the NBA, teams can afford to stash guys on the bench for 2-3 years before giving them minutes. In the NFL, as a top 10 pick, recent history says he'll get no more than 1 year to sit and learn on the bench, meaning he won't have adequate time to actually correct all his fatal flaws and the end result will likely be a disaster (as it has been for every prospect like Allen picked over the past 15 years; Akili Smith, Kyle Boller, Josh Freeman, Jake Locker, Blaine Gabbert, EJ Manuel, etc).
  14. Anything that results in Mayfield, Darnold or Rosen winding up in a Bills' uniform.
  15. Given how hard it is to find a Franchise QB in the NFL, it's unfathomable to me how anyone could think that a mediocre QB from the Mountain West Conference has what it takes to make it as an elite player in the NFL.
  16. He wasn't playing against anyone with talent either. He played only 3 power conference teams and struggled against Mountain West competition.
  17. If (when) Sam Darnold goes #1 overall. Bills get: #2 overall pick Giants get: #4, #22 overall picks Cleveland gets: #12, #65 overall picks, Bills' 2019 1st round pick
  18. This was more or less reported a week or two ago. We wind up with #2, the Giants wind up with #4 (pick Barkley) and some other picks, and the Browns get #12 and #22. Makes sense for everyone involved.
  19. I agree. Rosen and Mayfield are the tops for accuracy. I favour Mayfield, but both of them have outstanding accuracy. This thread is about Josh Allen, and his QB coach making a bunch of excuses for why he's not a good passer. It doesn't matter how he spins it, Allen is one of the least accurate QBs in the draft, and guys like him have no history of going on to be successful in the NFL over the past 20 years.
  20. This detailed breakdown that charted the success of every throw each QB made strongly disagrees with your assessment. Mayfield is the most accurate QB in the draft. Allen is the least accurate QB in the draft. https://d3d2maoophos6y.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/sites/25/2018/03/06171800/2018-Contextualized-Quarterbacking3.pdf
  21. No QB. Give me an elite player at another position.
  22. I wouldn't draft Josh Allen before the 4th round.
  23. Jackson. He's a good football player. Allen. Not so much...
  24. Allen is not a good football player. The talk of him going top 5 if completely insane. Give me Mayfield everyday and twice on Sunday. He's the most accurate QB in the draft.
  25. The Browns should take Mayfield #1 overall. Too many of these advanced analytics say he's going to be a really good pro. I also hope we figure out how to move up to #2 overall so he doesn't wind up on the Jets. Him going there and us winding up with Josh Allen is my nightmare.
