  1. Probably, but we just "found out" today. The Giants probably wanted to see who the #1 pick would be before trading down. I also doubt they want to move all the way down to #12. They need an impact player and might not get one there. My guess is that if the Giants move down Cleveland has to play ball with the #4 pick. The Giants need to wind up with Barkley to appease their fans and upgrade their offense and that's the farthest they can drop to ensure they get him.
  2. One of two things. 1. The Giants want to see who goes #1 overall. 2. The Bills want to see who goes #1 overall.
  3. Agreed. If Allen doesn't go #1, and we don't pick him, who is Allen going to go to? I've said for a while I think the attention he's been getting has been smoke. He's a severely flawed prospect who belongs in the 3rd or 4th round and the thought of him going in the top 10 is crazy. Every detailed scouting report paints a picture of a guy who has next to no hope of being successful in the NFL because his accuracy and decision making is so poor. If we pick him I'll be sick. He might understand the Xs and Os in the class room but it doesn't mean he can execute on the field. Some guys have it and other don't. And there's minimal proof he can thread the needle from 40 yards. He might be able to throw a football through a brick wall, but we're talking about a guy who struggles to complete screen passes. He can't execute the basics on a consistent basis.
  4. I didn't realize that had anything to do with accuracy, decision making or the ability to throw with anticipation. Unless he just got really smart a couple months ago, you'd think those things would have popped up on his college game tape.
  5. Why draft Josh Allen after passing on Patrick Mahomes last season? Makes zero sense whatsoever. Mahomes was a better prospect, with better production and better accuracy.
  6. McDermott has said the most important attributes for a QB to have are accuracy and decision making, so I don't see how Josh Allen would even be on our draft board.
  7. I don't see the need to involve the Broncos. I think the Browns want to move down to 12 to pick up Mike McGlinchey to replace Joe Thomas and pick up our 2019 first round pick in the process.
  8. Because we need to get in front of the Jets.
  9. I don't think this adds up. The QBs actually need to get picked for their pick to have value. Just talking about it doesn't mean much if it doesn't happen.
  10. Hilarious. The Giants didn't think Darnold would fall, now that he will, they don't want to make the decision between Barkley and Darnold. Easier to trade down and take yourself off the hot seat than a.) pick a bad QB or b.) pick a running back over a QB who turns out to be really good. The case for the Bills moving to #2, the Giants moving to #4 and #22, and the Browns moving to #12 and picking up our 2019 first rounder is starting to make a LOT of sense for everyone if Mayfield goes #1.
  11. Rosen @ #4 makes sense. If we can't do that and Allen is the only alternative, I'd consider Lauletta in round 2 and keep both our 1st rounders.
  12. Height is the most over rated attribute when it comes to QBs.
  13. 1. The compensation to move into the top 2 will be astronomical. 2. Allen stinks. Rosen falling would be ideal. 3. You see Dalton. I see Bryce Petty/Landry Jones. I see a spread offense QB who struggles badly against pressure and has a mediocre arm.
  14. I'd consider Jackson at 12, but I'd be open to this as well. I'd try to trade out of 12 and try to pick up a 2019 first round pick.
  15. I don't get why it's hard to believe. He's an elite passer with top notch accuracy who makes his team mates better. Put Mayfield with Josh Gordon, Jarvis Landry, David Njoku and Carlos Hyde, and trade down a couple picks and grab McGlinchy as LT, and that offense is one of the best in the league moving forward. Then use the rest of their picks upgrading the defense and the Browns could be a really good team.
  16. LOL How is this coming out the day before the draft?
  17. Fingers crossed. Then move up to #4 and grab Rosen.
  18. I don't think any of these are realistic options. 1. Darnold is going top 3. 2. None of these guys are dropping to 12. 3. Rudolph isn't worth anything close to the 22nd overall pick.
  19. I hope they take Barkley. I just think that if we were in the Giants shoes, and Eli Manning was our QB and we had the #2 overall pick and picked Barkley people would riot in the streets knowing a QB is much more important.
  20. And his QB Rating was 86, good for 22nd in the NFL. Manning is at the end of the line. They need a long term solution who can push for his job in case he plays poorly again. They can get an elite RB in round 2. Sure. But how many teams are building around RBs these days? QB >>>> RB
  21. I know what I'd do. It's a super deep running back class and they'll have several elite options available in round 2. The same can't be said about the QB class.
  22. What's the alternative?
  23. Ugh. Eli is 37 and hasn't been good in years. Davis Webb is just a guy until he proves otherwise. They have an opportunity to solidify the QB position for the next 10+ years. No chance they pass that up.
  24. "Giving up" on Eli for #2 pick is a lot different than giving up on him for Geno Smith. There's no way they don't pick Darnold if he's available. QB is exponentially more important that a pass rusher.
