[Edited Title] Patrick Mahomes Looks Great
jrober38 replied to Wizard's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills look like complete morons for not picking Mahomes. He had the size, he had the arm, he had the moxy, and they opted to trade down so that they could take a lesser prospect with the same pros and cons and give away more draft capital in the process. I find it shocking that the Buffalo media isn't being more critical of this decision. -
I couldn't care less. I thought we were a bottom 5 team before the season and now we look like we'll be competing with Arizona for the #1 overall pick which is great. This team desperately needs some more blue chip talent.

McDermott- Highest odds to be fired..
jrober38 replied to McBean's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
McDermott and Beane have lost a lot of their goodwill. With Pat Mahomes setting the league on fire and our roster looking like a complete dumpster fire that might not win 2 games, they look like they completely screwed up the future of this team by the way they managed the roster the last 18 months. -
Josh Gordon to be released-now traded to PATS
jrober38 replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
100% need to put in a waiver claim. Robert Foster isn't an NFL calibre player and Josh Gordon would represent a real threat defenses have to scheme for. He's an elite deep threat who Josh Allen would thrive at throwing the ball to. -
Predict Josh Allen's stats vs LA.

14 of 30 for 180 yards, 1 TD and 3 turnovers, sacked 5 times with 45 yards rushing. -
Sadly, McDermott is the wrong guy to develop his own guys

I think it's a major problem that McDermott genuinely thought Peterman was an upgrade over Tyrod last year. That was as big a swing and a miss you'll see from an NFL Head Coach. -

So far there is nothing that suggests Sean McDermott can evaluate quarterbacks. He forced Peterman on the field last year and it was a disaster, and he put Peterman on the field again this year and traded away the only veteran QB presence on the roster so we could get back a 5th round pick. Now we're stuck in a situation where Peterman is the laughing stock of the NFL, and Josh Allen is going to be forced onto the field with what's probably the worst supporting cast in the NFL. Allen is going to get sacked a ton because he obviously holds the ball too long, and his mechanics and fundamentals that he worked so hard to fix this offseason will be completely shot to hell over the next 3 weeks. This team is going to lose a lot of games this year, and at some point people will begin to criticize Allen, and criticize this regime for picking a guy 7th overall who everyone said was going to be a bust. Most QBs aren't able to overcome major struggles like that without their confidence dropping. Derek Carr who two years ago looked like a future franchise QB has regressed badly due to his confidence being shaken. Even Matt Ryan has seen his play decline dramatically. Hard to imagine a rookie QB overcoming that issue. -
McBeane's way of rebuilding makes no sense

Agreed. The Bills should have gutted the roster last year and gone after a pick high enough to pick Allen. Then we wouldn't have had to trade away all our picks to move up in the draft. -
Who are we competing with for the #1 overall pick?

The only winnable games I see on our schedule are the Titans and Dolphins at home. The Jets and Bears looked better than expected, and the Colts scored a bunch of points. The Lions should get better as they break in their rookie HC. Otherwise everyone else on the roster looks like they should blow us out. I thought 4 wins before the season but now I'm not sure we'll get there. -

Agreed, but 5 wins pretty obviously isn't contending for the #1 overall pick. Based off week 1, we're the worst team in the NFL and I don't think we have any competition for that distinction. -

The Lions are a lot better than us at QB and at WR. I think their defense is about the same and neither of us have a good offensive line. -
Honestly the Bills made an enormous mistake by not gutting the roster a year ago. If we'd got rid of all the dead weight then and wound up with a top 5 pick instead of a playoff birth we'd have been able to get Josh Allen (I assume he was their guy even if they had the #1 overall pick), the Chiefs first, and all those other 2nd and 3rd round picks we'd acquired. Instead, by making the playoffs, we wound up with two late first rounders and traded away all our picks for two trade ups in the draft and instead of walking away with a sizable draft class of 1st, 2nd and 3rd rounders, all we got was Allen, Edmunds and Phillips. Making the playoffs and ending the drought was nice, but it delayed the rebuild by a year or more by putting us in a spot where we had to ship picks away to move up for the players we want to build around and I think that will prove to be a huge mistake in the grand scheme of things.

The Lions have good players which is more than I can say about our roster. -

The Lions are no where close to as bad as we are. -

There are no elite QBs this year. -
The Bills need new starters at: two new wide receivers a new LG, C, RG and RT a new tight end a new defensive end a new defensive tackle a new SLB a new CB and Nickel CB This roster is a disaster. Yes, Allen will start. They can't play Peterman again.

We don't have any competition for the #1 pick. We're far and away the worst team in the league.
