  1. I won't say that not picking Mahomes was a mistake, but not picking Mahomes and then picking Josh Allen a year later, who is essentially just a worse version of Mahomes, doesn't make any freaking sense. Mahomes was a much better prospect than Josh Allen. They're both big, they're both mobile, and they both have rocket arms. Why did we not take the guy who showed in college that he can throw a football really well and instead opt for the guy who was just a mediocre QB in a terrible conference? Makes no sense whatsoever.
  2. 1. QB holds the ball too long. 2. QB doesn't recognize pressure pre snap and adjust the protection properly.
  3. This isn't just about Allen, it's about the collection of players this regime has brought in through the draft and free agency. They're simply not good enough.
  4. The Bills need to blow up the front office and bring in someone who can actually evaluate talent to spend our cap space next year and properly utilize what's likely to be a top 3 draft pick.
  5. Probably not. Our offense is a complete joke right now. We're averaging 12.5 points per game. You can't win with that today when QBs are regularly throwing for 400 yards and 3 TDs.
  6. White is a good player. Edmunds will probably become a good player. The other guys are just starters because we don't have anyone better. None of them are difference makers at the NFL level. The Bills roster is presently devoid of talent. The players we're featuring at WR, on the OL, and as our depth at most positions on the depth chart is practice squad level type talent relative to other teams. The current regime came in and got rid of most of our best players and have so far replaced them with much worse players. Their drafting and willingness to trade picks away for crappy veterans or to move up in the draft has left this roster lacking NFL calibre talent and the result is that we're one of the 2-3 worst teams in the league. Nothing about this regime tells me they're going to be successful long term. They don't value draft picks, they don't seem to look for guys that traditional scouts miss, and for the most part they've added very little overall talent to this team over the past two years despite having had a boat load of draft picks and plenty of opportunities to do so. I suspect that a year from now the fans are going to be asking for change.
  7. Hyde is the only guy they signed. The rest of their acquisitions were all brought in by trades, so the notion that money talks doesn't hold much weight when using the Browns as an example.
  8. No. Benjamin can't run anymore, Zay Jones is the worst 2nd round pick we've made since Torrell Troup, Robert Foster belongs in the CFL, and the rest of the guys shouldn't be professional football players. The Bills have the worst group of wide receivers in the NFL.
  9. This feels an awful lot like the debacles in Denver with McDaniels and Philly with Chip Kelly. Rookie head coaches with too much power who gutted their teams after the 1st year to bring in "their guys", who wound up with terrible rosters that couldn't compete for years.
  10. This is starting to feel like the Dick Jauron era. The roster is composed of a bunch of choir boys who can't play football very well. We have no edge.
  11. Last year McDermott looked like a decent coach, but their team building has been atrocious. They came on the job, got rid of all our best players, replaced them with bums and have mostly used all our draft picks on horrible players, and the result is one of the worst rosters in the league. They have one more year to improve things. If this roster isn't significantly better at the end of 2019 we need to pull the plug on this experiment.
  12. Draft better players and stop trading away draft picks for terrible NFL players.
  13. So what? A lot of other guys had him as a 3rd or 4th rounder. All of the guys you mentioned have had plenty of huge misses when evaluating QBs. We'll see in 2-3 years if Allen works out, but people need to get used to the media being extremely critical of his play because it'll likely take a while for the light to go on.
  14. I have no idea why anyone cares about how hard a QB can throw the football. Most of the top QBs in the NFL right now have mediocre arms.
  15. He was a top 5 pick on some draft board, but a 10 player on hardly any big boards. A lot of sites didn't have him as one of the top 32 players. Allen is a boom or bust prospect who history shows probably won't work out. I don't know why people get so upset when people are critical of him.
  16. For the most part, Darnold has looked like crap so far. On the flip side, the sample size is small, but Mayfield looked unbelievably good yesterday. He looked like a 5 year vet picking apart the Jets D.
  17. I hated Mahomes but loved the other two. Obviously we had no shot at Goff or Mayfield, but we look pretty stupid right now for not picking Mahomes and then trading so much away to draft Allen a year later. Mahomes was a better prospect than Allen in pretty much every category.
  18. Mayfield reads the defense significantly faster than Allen does. He ran around a bit, but for the most part Mayfield is taking his drop and throwing darts. Allen pats the ball a lot and hasn't been very decisive so far, which was the case in college as well.
  19. Then we're in serious trouble....
  20. Allen has looked like a deer in the headlights compared to Mayfield. Mayfield looks like a 5 year vet.
  21. In the grand scheme of things it's useless. The ability to throw the ball accurately, read a defense and throw with anticipation is exponentially more important than whether or not a QB is 6'5, 240 with good mobility. If you can't do those other things, the height, weight and speed are completely useless.
  22. Mayfield has looked like a 5 year vet. He's in complete control of the offense and knows exactly when and where to go with the football. Unbelievable considering how few practice reps he would have got this year. He's looked incredible given the circumstances.
  23. Mayfield has been incredible tonight. 17 of 23 for 200 yards and he's had 3 drops that could have gone for a lot more. The guy is a total stud. Just goes to show how completely useless a guys height, weight and 40 time are when it comes to QBs.
  24. Mayfield is a stud. Underrated arm, elite accuracy, and in complete control of the offense. He's surrounded by weapons and couldn't have had a better debut with 200 yards in essentially a half of football.
