As am I. I don't think they have any idea what a good QB prospect looks like. -
Peterman Stats - Historical Ranking?
jrober38 replied to ngbills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I feel bad for the guy. He's going to be a punchline the rest of his life, and he never should have ever been on the field. A 5th round pick starting as a rookie and as the starter in his 2nd season. What were our coaches thinking? -
Sorry - I associate it as his pick even though it was McDermott's. Whaley was a lame duck GM who had next to nothing to do with the 2017 draft. It was McDermott's show and I believe that's still the case.

Will anything change before week 2?

The players are very much the problem, and we aren't finding any upgrades at this point in the season. -
I don't see any logic here. We know Peterman is terrible. If Allen is also terrible, there's no argument that can be made suggesting the GM should get a 3rd crack at picking a QB. That completely defies logic.

The Bears look good. Trubisky is decisive, has a good arm and is very accurate. I figured we'd have a good shot at beating them when they visit us. Now I feel like we'd be completely outmatched. Aside from the Jets and Dolphins, it's really hard to see where any wins will come from in our schedule.

Patrick Mahomes Lighting up the Chargers

There is zero evidence that suggests Josh Allen is a good NFL player. He wasn't even a good college football player. -
If Allen is complete garbage Beane 100% loses his job. No chance the Bills' ownership lets him draft another QB after picking Peterman and Allen.
-
One QB showed he might not belong in the league. The other was much better in comparison, but still very bad relative to other NFL QBs.

None of us know if he'll be okay. Historically speaking, he probably isn't going to be any good when you consider that over 50% of all 1st rounders bust. I worry for his development. He's going to have to start up to 15 games for arguably the worst team in the NFL and I don't think that will do anything to aid his development. -
I disagree. We probably have the least talented team in the league. Coaching was a big reason we overachieved last year. The players simply didn't execute. We got dominated on both lines, and our QBs were awful.

It's way too early to tell. He looked good relative to Nate Peterman, but still went 6 of 15 for 74 yards and 3 sacks taken. Allen has a long way to go. Every QB in the NFL deals with drops. He was extremely mediocre in a 44 point loss. Next week against San Diego will be a good test. The following week at Minnesota won't be worth watching because it'll be a total train wreck. -
None of this should come as a surprise. The Bills are a horrible team on paper with hardly any talent, no elite difference makers, and some of the worst depth you'll find on any NFL team. This roster is as bad as any team the Bills have fielded over the past 20 years.

Agreed. Heading into this draft I felt the Bills were set up to build a nice foundation to build around for years to come. Now, I'm feeling like we're about to become what we saw from the Cleveland Browns the previous 5 years. We have maybe 3-4 players on the entire roster under the age of 26 who we can build around. The cupboard has never felt as bare as it is right now. -

6 of 15 with 3 sacks disagrees. -
The Silver Lining : Josh Allen is very good.

He's "very good" when standing next to Nate Peterman. Against the rest of the NFL he's still one of the worst starting QBs in the league. Allen has a huge arm and is obviously mobile, but he struggles badly when pressured. We'll see what happens, but the games at Minnesota and Green Bay are going to be really tough to watch. -

I don't see how we avoid that at this point. This is the worst offense in the NFL on paper, and our defense was a joke today. If we can't keep scores low, and Allen has to throw 35 times a game he's going to be in real trouble. I think he's an enormous project who we should have kept on the bench for as long as possible. -

I didn't want Mahomes, but he was a better prospect than Allen. He had the same pros and cons with elite college production to go with it. Who knows what we'd look like with Mahomes, but I think in 5 years he's going to be regarded as a much better NFL QB than Allen. -

This isn't really true. We wouldn't have both of them but we could have easily had one of them (likely Edmunds). Also I don't really care about making the playoffs. The goal is to win Super Bowls. -

Mahomes is Josh Allen with much better instincts. It's unfathomable to me that we passed on Mahomes just to go after Allen with a higher pick the next season. Truly mind boggling.
