  1. The only positive I saw was Marcus Murphy. The guy should be pushing McCoy for carries at this point. He runs hard and doesn't take plays off. Edmunds was okay. He was out of position several times in coverage but is clearly a freak athlete. He needs a lot more experience. Allen didn't do it for me. He's got a huge arm, but when his first read isn't open and there's pressure he folds up and walked into at least 2 sacks. He's talented, but he's not ready for prime time. He's obviously going to play next week, but I expect the next two games to both be complete train wrecks. Everything else was a disaster. Offensive line can't block, McCoy looked completely disinterested, the defensive line was dominated and we still have zero pass rush, linebackers lack experience and our secondary can't cover for 4+ seconds. This is a terrible football team and we're going to be in serious contention for the #1 overall pick. I think we're starting at least 0-4 and it's hard to see more than 3 or 4 winnable games on the schedule.
  2. McCoy looks checked out. I'd try and get rid of him asap. Murphy was our best player today. He ran hard, and performed well on special teams. I'd rather give him a chance with Ivory spelling him, but we need to get something for McCoy if we can.
  3. Start Allen this week because honestly who cares. San Diego and especially at Minnesota are going to be complete train wrecks. This team looks like it's going to start at least 0-4 and who knows after that. This roster is horrible. For the sake of giving fans any reason to watch they pretty much have to get Allen on the field.
  4. If Allen doesn't work out (I don't think he will), this team will be in the gutter for 3-5 years. If the Bills are terrible, my hope is that they can find a trade partner and recoup a ton of draft picks. I was super excited heading into the draft this year due to the number of 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks we had, but then we traded them all away. I was really hoping we'd add 5-6 quality players to the roster, and we only wound up with two guys. This roster is Swiss Cheese, and trading down and picking up future picks and additional picks in 2019 is probably the route I'd take. We need more NFL calibre players.
  5. I'm somewhat worried we're in a Josh McDaniels type situation, with a young coach who has too much power who has gone out of his way to overhaul the roster with his guys, who for the most part don't look like they're very good football players. Our lack of talent at WR, on the OL and even on the DL is alarming. We have enormous problems in each of those areas. The Bills roster is terrible and it's been made terrible by this front office and coach choosing to get rid of most of our players either through cuts or trades. I get that we have a ton of cap space next year, but big spending in free agency doesn't always work. We need to rebuild the core of this team and that might take another 2-3 years.
  6. Benjamin was a slow WR when he entered the league and he's had multiple leg injuries since. When he's out there, he looks like he's in slow motion. He generates zero separation and all he can do at this point is try to use his body to shield the defender on jump balls. This guy needs to be sent packing once his contract is up. We need some wide receivers with real athletic ability.
  7. Way too early to tell. Next Sunday and the one after are probably going to be complete train wrecks. The Bills looked like the worst team in the league today by a wide margin. This roster is really lacking NFL calibre talent and our guys are simply outmatched.
  8. This is going to be a massive blow out. The Bills aren't built to play from behind by 2 scores. If we abandon the run (which we'll have to), this might turn into a 30+ point loss.
  9. There were people arguing throughout the week we might make the playoffs. This looks like a 2 to 4 win team. We're awful at QB, awful on the OL and awful on the DL. How is anyone supposed to win in the NFL with all of those as your glaring flaws?
  10. I don't see any positives being the worst team in the league.
  11. This game is over. The Bills might legitimately be the worst team in the NFL.
  12. 18 of 30 for 210 yards, 1 TD and 2 Ints.
  13. Considering Josh Allen's college tape, no one should be giving him the benefit of the doubt. He was an average, to below average college QB in a terrible conference. He was drafted solely off his potential and what he might become if every aspect of his development goes perfectly, and until he shows signs of that having happened, everyone is just going to assume he can't play, because at this point they're almost certainly right. Josh Allen will win when he shows he can play QB at a high level in the NFL. Until that happens, people are going to assume he's terrible because pretty much every QB drafted over the last 20 years with the same pros and cons on their scouting report was an enormous bust.
  14. You get my point. It's usually better to hear about how a guy throws the ball, how productive he is, or how he's a winner. The "he's big, strong, fast and has a rocket arm" usually means jack squat without some actual feel for the game.
  15. I hate when the only good things anyone has to say about a QB are how tall they are, how much they weigh and how far they can throw a football. It's usually a bad sign for how that player's career will shake out.
  16. Deshaun Watson was one of the best players in college football for 3 years. Josh Allen was just a guy in the Mountain West Conference. This seems unlikely. Allen is going to take a while to develop.
  17. Excitement level is extremely low for me. The Bills don't look like a good team, and they appear to be in a rebuilding year. We're likely looking at double digit losses combined with possibly the worst offense in the league so watching on Sundays is going to be pretty tough.
  18. For his sake I hope he plays relatively well. He's in a big spot with a 1st round QB breathing down his neck. It would be great for him long term if he can put some decent tape together if he's going to stick around the NFL for more than his rookie contract.
  19. Next year's QB class looks awful. Hard to imagine it will be worth targeting anyone with our top 5 pick.
  20. Tyrod played a big part in that and he's gone now. Our current group of QBs will probably turn the ball over as much as they put it in the endzone which will make things a lot tougher on the defense.
  21. We scored 18.9 points per game last year. You really think we're going to match that with a worse QB situation, worse line and still awful group of receivers. I don't see any reason to believe we'll be better than one of the 3 worst offenses in the NFL this year. Our players simply aren't good enough.
  22. I'm hoping they play well. Maybe the defense performs better than they showed in preseason. Star Lotuleilei graded as one of the worst DTs in the NFL last year and he looked pretty awful when on the field in preseason. My major concern is the offense. All we have is McCoy, who is 30 years old and has had a couple soft tissue injuries the last couple years. We're going to be terrible at QB (this year), terrible at WR, and terrible on the offensive line. We scored 18.9 PPG last year. With less consistent QB play, and more turnovers from the QB position, that number could drop below 17.5 PPG, and if that happens we'll almost certainly be looking at a top 5 pick. I don't think our defense is good, but our offense literally looks like it might be the worst in the NFL.
  23. I said Peterman would start, Allen would backup and McCarron would be cut/traded. If Peterman is terrible, I think Allen will be worse this year. The Bills will probably have one of the 2-3 worst offenses in the league due to the QB situation, offensive line and lack of NFL talent at the WR positions.
  24. Our offensive line is going to be terrible. We got much worse up front without Wood and Incognito on the field. I never said the defense would be the worst. I just don't think it will be very good. Our DL can't generate pressure, and we can't stop the run. Until they show they can do those things I'm not giving them the benefit of the doubt. This is a bad football team that got worse in a lot of areas vs last season, with very few (if any) upgrades.
  25. We have one of the worst QB situations in the league this year (probably bottom 5 in QB rating when it's all said and done), arguably the worst group of receivers, arguably the worst offensive line, and a defense that doesn't appear to be able to rush the passer or stop the run. We're good at RB and in the secondary, but I don't think that's enough. Games are won and lost in the trenches and at QB, and we're bad in all of those areas. The Bills were 29th in yards and 22nd in points last year. If those numbers go down (which they should with two QBs who have cumulatively started zero games) then this team is in serious trouble when it comes to wins and losses.
