  1. I saw one Beatle way back when. I was on my way to the Toronto Rock n Roll Revival in Fall 1969, when the radio said John Lennon and his friend Eric Clapton were flying in to play the festival. Sadly, Yoko was included in the Plastic Ono Band, so some of the music was awful. But it was fun to see John Lennon.
  2. Spanos Street in San Diego? They haven’t renamed it yet. LOL
  3. There was a band called the Buffalo Beatles way back in 1965 or so. Legally, they had to change their name, the became The Rogues. The lead guitarist had a Gretsch Country Gentleman guitar and a Vox Super Beatle amplifier - just like George Harrison used. That was a real wow factor back then. They were very talented. I don’t know who they were, but they were great.
  4. I have been around here since 1994 when I lived in Ohio. Changed my name when I moved to another state. On Sep 11, 2001, I logged in here first thing in the morning and found out the news. Lots of fun here, Belinda and all those folks. I was in an old thread the other day, and came across the poster John From Riverside, who used to be John From Hemet. Sadly, John is no longer with us. But not forgotten.
  5. Butch Byrd worked as a mechanic at Great Lakes Chrysler at Hertel and Delaware. My best friend’s dad was a salesman there.
  6. In the playoff game, Don Shula’s final game, Thurman Thomas bowled over Fish DC Tom Olivadotti on the sidelines. How is that for symbolism? Same game where the Canadian Comet Tim Tindale scored a TD.
  7. Lou put out some great songs. May he Rest In Peace.
  8. There is a Marvel comics character called Groot.
  9. Didn’t the Bills add a new assistant DL coach who specializes in the pass rush? This could help Solomon’s development as well. I look forward to seeing his second season.
  10. I’ve been a Bills fan since 1960 or so. Played pitch and catch in the street as Jack Kemp and Glenn Bass. I have a Stew Barber autograph around here somewhere.
  11. Was anyone else a member of Joey Reynolds Royal Order of the Night People? There was a purple membership card.
  12. With the tag, you would be paying him Barkley/D. Henry level money. That makes no sense.
  13. Holy crap. I did not think “The Yardbirds” would be back on stage. Are there any original members left? If no originals, it would seem like a tribute band, but with the blessing of whoever owns the name. Great band, I’m sure it was a fun experience. Edit - I looked it up. Original Jim McCarty is still with them. And a singer who has been with them for 30 years. I had no idea they were still working. Very cool.
  14. That’s a cool repertoire, out of the ordinary. Are you guys CFNY fans from the 80s?
  15. Rip Chords - Hey Little Cobra Jan and Dean - Dead Mans Curve mentions Jaguar XKE and Corvette
  16. Just don’t wipe immediately after you make a catch or a tackle. Ask the referee for a Kleenex.
  17. I hate that gesture. I think it is direct replacement for the old throat slash gesture. I’m glad to see a stupid new rule to outlaw it.
  18. Some NBA player, Jason, upon joining his new team, said: “We’re gonna turn this team around 360 degrees!”
  19. My ancestry is mostly Irish. My parents had five red headed kids. My middle name is Patrick.
  20. It must have been 1972 when I saw a game with OJ Simpson and Joe Namath. My friend’s mom got tickets from her workplace.
  21. Looks like LB Nick Morrow got himself an SB ring. Nice break for him.
  22. Rest In Peace, coach.
  23. No. Absolutely no. I love football and I watch CFL, UFL, and college ball. But this sort of "consolation" game does not work at all - a bronze medal or a bag of poop.
  24. So much great music from these guys. They started in 1957 in Toronto area.
  25. No big boycott, but I plan to skip it this year. I can’t watch Chiefs games, and I don’t like Philly.
