So Spencer Brown what say you?
Poleshifter replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall
Oh yes, John meant What Say You? In the vernacular of our Founding Fathers some 250 years ago. It’s just missing a few huzzahs. -
He should know better than relying on a mediocre QB. Purdy is a nice story, but when you are up against Mahomes, Purdy is not good enough.

My deepest condolences to you and your children, Scott. I will keep you guys in my prayers.

Yes, it sucks winning Miss Congeniality every year.

Glad to hear of her improvement today. I will continue to keep her and your family in my prayers.

I will pray for your wife and your family. What an awful thing. It is hard to imagine why such things happen to good people. It is so unfair.

Am I the only one not planning on watching Chiefs/Ravens??
Poleshifter replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
Normally, I would watch any football I can. But I strongly dislike both of these teams, so I will likely not watch. If KC wins, I will skip the SB as well. I skipped the Eagles vs Pats SB years ago due to Pats overload. -
Patriot WR arrested for illegal gambling - Over 8,000 bets!

Thanks. Sheldon Leonard was also the mean bartender in It’s A Wonderful Life. -

Looks like Jack Benny on the left. Is that Jim Backus on the right? You know, billionaire Thurston Howell. -
But he plays like #2.

Things on TV shows you like that will never happen in real life

Wow, are you going to be in for a shock. Stay tuned. -
The good old days - when Sattlers at the Boulevard Mall featured a music store which carried Vox amplifiers and guitars! It was the time of Beatlemania, and Vox was their brand of amplifiers. Especially the Vox Super Beatle amp, about 5 feet tall in it’s chrome stand! That was just the most fun place to visit in that era!

This college football prospect has a very unusual last name
Poleshifter replied to Einstein's topic in College Football
Ouch. He has legit cause to legally get it changed. -
Does it literally cost big money to pick a bunch of players from the portal? Didn't Sanders bring in 86 new players when he took over at Colorado?

Stellar XLM: Your Roadmap to Financial Inclusion In conclusion, Stellar XLM is emerging as a powerful tool in the pursuit of financial inclusion. Its unique features, strategic partnerships, and commitment to addressing the challenges faced by the unbanked make it a promising platform for creating a more equitable financial system. As Stellar continues to develop and innovate, its impact on global financial inclusion is expected to grow, providing a roadmap to a more inclusive and prosperous future for all. ---- On a related note, XRP is not the "golden child" it was once expected to be. There is not going to be a high-priced buyback like many XRP hodlers had hoped for. XLM is the better option.

You Ain't Getting &^%$ for Christmas -
This is probably posted somewhere earlier in this 200-page thread, but it has become a Christmas favorite. So, here we go!

Light of Christmas in the Darkness of War 1944
Poleshifter replied to NoHuddleKelly12's topic in Off the Wall
This is a great story. Thanks for posting it. I spent one Christmas away from home when I was in the Army. I was in Germany during the Cold War, so I was never in any danger. Christmas greetings to all of our combat veterans on the board. Thanks to all of you.- 1 reply

What are some of your favorite Christmas songs??
Poleshifter replied to Special K's topic in Off the Wall
It's the only beatnik Christmas song that I know of. Do you remember Edd "Kookie" Byrnes from the TV show 77 Sunset Strip? Like Yulesville, Daddy-O! -

Are you or anyone in your family big gift givers for Christmas?
Poleshifter replied to Another Fan's topic in Off the Wall
Our family had 5 kids, and 1 income from my dad. So there were a few gifts for each child, one major item and some smaller gifts. Our friend Richard, an only child, stops by and asks “Where’s your big stuff?” Sixty years later, that expression still pops up once in a while.
