Raiders Fire GM Reggie McKenzie
longtimebillsfan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That Raiders situation is really sad. McKenzie has worked his but off to build a very talented team and get to the playoffs. I believe in 2016 they made the playoffs with a 12-4 record. Chuck comes in and dismantles the team. Then McKenzie gets fired. Gruden may have a plan, but it does not seem like it. The next big move will be for Gruden to bring in a host of quarterback candidates and replace Derek Carr. It is going to be a long 10 years with that ridiculous contract. I also feel bad for the Raiders fans. Mark Davis promised the fan base that he would do all he could to win another Super Bowl before they moved to Las Vegas. I have never been a Raiders fan but this has to be tough for the Raiders Nation. -
Is Josh Allen your QB?
longtimebillsfan replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Josh has shown enough on the field and an incredible work ethic off the field to commit to him for another year. We can use the draft picks to help build an o line and give him more skill players to use. Clay needs to go the way of Benjamin. It was like night and day seeing the efforts of our young receivers and watching Clay. He looks like a slug out there. -
[Please Change Title] This is a loss I can deal with
longtimebillsfan replied to WMDman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hear you, but I am never ok with a loss when the game was there for us to win. This season losses are mitigated by the thought, "at least we will get a better draft pick". I hope this is the last year for a while where our draft position is the most positive outcome for the season. -
Should the Bills Trade Down in 2019?
longtimebillsfan replied to Phil The Thrill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Conceptually, I would be ok with this. If we could get 2 first round picks and maybe a second, that would help fill our positions of needed with a good infusion of talent. -
Lorax - should he be extended?
longtimebillsfan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lorax is still playing at q very high level. Linebacker is a position that lacks depth. Keep signing him to one year contract as long as he is affective. -
Where are you on the spectrum??
longtimebillsfan replied to Dadonkadonk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With Josh, I have taken the opinion of just enjoying watching him play and develop. He is showing why Beane was so high on him. Many national and local sports journalists are now believing that he has the highest growth potential of any qb in this year's draft. I was upset on draft day when they picked the "wrong" Josh. I now could not be happier. I was wrong. As for Beane, some of his moves were difficult to understand at the time they were made. But Beane is looking at the big picture and a three to four year development plan. Most of his moves have worked out, but not all of them. He is not perfect. Likewise for McDermott. He is still learning on the job to be a head coach. He has had his struggles, but he has shown me he can coach. I am the most optimistic that I have been in regard to the Bills future since 1999. I believe we have a bright future and new glory days are just around the corner. -
Why is the punter the holder?
longtimebillsfan replied to NakedSquid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The first I can remember is Brian Moorman. He always held for field goals and extra points. Prior to that I only remember backup quarterbacks doing this job. Not sure why this changed. Maybe because it is more likely to have a backup qb injured than your punter. I don't know, just a guess. -
OK. I'll Say It-Allen will be best Bills QB ever
longtimebillsfan replied to beacon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope you are right. He has a skill set like no other quarterback the Bills have ever had. Flutie could run, but did not have the cannon of an are like Josh. I look forward to watching him each week. I am already pumped up for next season. Go Bills!!! -
Allen's Last Pass (12/2): Bad Pass or Drop?
longtimebillsfan replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Allen deserves all the credit. His protection broke down. He somehow avoided the rush with incredible mobility, and made a strong off balance pass that clay should have caught. This is completely Clay's responsibility. He should be gone. -
Allen played well enough to win the game. We need to surround him with receivers that play with the same heart as he does. Benjamin and Clay have to go. Allen started out slowly, but finished with respectable numbers. 18-34. 231 yards. 135 yards rushing. He had 2 ints but the first one was on a haul Mary. He is showing improvement. That is what we need to see. Even though I worry about the hits he takes with his running, that is part of what makes him such a dynamic player. Some mobile qbs had long careers and racked up significant rushing yardage. I think we found our guy in Josh.

We Are In Good Shape. Who Would You Dump Next Year?
longtimebillsfan replied to Irv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. Clay and Benjamin for sure. -
Charles Clay- the most useless player ever
longtimebillsfan replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Allen played his heart out like always. He extended that play. Clay makes a half hearted effort and comes up short. Let's package Clay and Benjamin and trade them for a vintage Yugo!
