Was The Tyrod Taylor Era a Success?
DaBillsFanSince1973 replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
not a success. not a complete failure either. success would of been developing in to the franchise guy this team has lacked for far too many years to count. the playoffs may of never happened if not for the defense playing as they did early on in the season or they could very well finished 5-11/6-10 and not sniffed the playoffs. that said, he was part of the team that won enough to have an opportunity for a wild card and ended the drought and I am grateful for that. you have to also credit andy dalton and the bengals for their help in getting the bills in to the post season, made for some real excitement at the end of the season. the first year gave me hope, the second season I started to question and last season I lost all hope he would be the future. I would not really rate him as successful yet I wish him well as the browns stop gap where maybe there when their future (likely drafted rookie) is ready to take over he can accept a back up role? -

Dear Brian Daboll, -Do you stink as an OC?

that's some hot take there OP. although I wont go as far as to say he succeeds, I wont say he'll fail either and will not compare him to the other failures from the past. I see it as like how a player (huges for example) who didn't have much success elsewhere, came here to a new team and environment and went on to contribute positively with the team. Daboll has the same opportunity and rather then feel he'll fail, I hope he succeeds, which in turn means the team succeeds. I guess some use the past as a way to predict the future? -
what are you about johnny boy. reporting and such. how about you just worry about johnny boy. that wasn't a suggestion.
-
maybe I should make it a SUGGESTION. would that be better johnny?

seems you're still clinging as well or is it reprimanding those who are? rather than preach or worry about those still clinging, take your own advice., just sayin'.

Buffalo Bills: The curious signing of Owa Odighizuwa by Mike Distefano 8 hours ago buffalowdown.com With the PED ban looming, Odighizuwa was not an attractive option to teams who were prowling the waiver wire last August, costing him the entire season. His scouting report suggests he’s more of a run defender than a pass rusher. And if he’s going to make this team he will need to prove he’s capable of playing special teams. His combination of strength and speed would argue he is. But is his mental makeup going to allow him to perform? Or perhaps the plan is to deploy him as situational lineman against the run. This could allow Sean McDermott to keep Lawson or Hughes fresh for pass rushing scenarios. Either way, Odighizuwa is not guaranteed a spot on the 53-man roster. He’ll need to compete. But competition brings out the best in people. Buffalo’s track record of signing players to short-term “prove it” deals has been successful lately (Lorenzo Alexander and Jordan Poyer), and the Bills hope to add Odighizuwa to that list.

OPINION: We have a trade partner in place

bolded is pretty obvious. I think the consensus does feel this is setting them up to get their guy in fa and/or still have the picks to move up so it is going to be a pretty exciting time for a bills fan. first the drought ending, now the potential to even go deeper in the playoffs and likely wont have to worry about the offense only scoring 3 points? -
While we are all rejoicing here.........

Bills Links, 3/9: Trade speculation with the New York Giants continues Recent moves have fans thinking the Giants would trade the second pick By Anthony Marino@AnthMarino Mar 9, 2018, 6:15am EST Bills Links Free agency does not begin until next week. The NFL Draft is 48 days away. So while there is still plenty of time for discussion, with the most recent conversation is around the Buffalo Bills making a trade with the New York Giants for the second overall pick. This is obviously all speculation at this point, but it is understandable considering Brandon Beane’s connection with the Giants new general manager, David Gettleman. A Giant opportunity http://www.wgr550.com/articles/opinion/giant-opportunity After trading two of their picks this year to acquire [expensive] linebacker Alec Ogletree from the Rams, the Giants are running out of assets Let’s be honest, this trade doesn’t make a whole ton of sense unless, you know, you plan on using that second overall pick to get yourself a host of picks and potentially a roster player or other assets. I mean, that’s the only way this trade makes sense. That’s where Brandon Beane and the Buffalo Bills come in. Let’s first start by stating the obvious. Beane worked under Giants general manager Dave Gettleman, and by all accounts they had a great working relationship in Carolina. This is an obvious help me, help you situation, right? The Bills desperately need a franchise quarterback and the Giants just declared draft pick bankruptcy! There’s a big “for sale” sign at the top of the draft. And for those who have been worried sick about who the Bills could potentially find as trade partners, this trade sounds the dinner bell. -
I like it. would never consider it pop, definitely not crap.
