  1. Love's just a waste of our energy yeah And this life's just a waste of our time So why don't we get together We could waste everything tonight
  2. Behind the smile There's danger and a promise to be told You'll never get old, ha Life's fantasy To be locked away and still to think you're free You're free, we're free So live for today Tomorrow never comes Die young, die young Can't you see the writing in the air?
  3. The other thing I heard on the radio the past few days was something about Harvey having a bloody nose on one or two occasions when he was on the mound. Don't know the details and don't remember that at all but Mets beat reporter Ed Coleman confirmed that he was aware when "it" happened. Coleman also mentioned that Harvey may have torpedoed his career when he insisted on pitching down the stretch and deep into the post season in 2015 when he was coming back from Tommy John surgery - which he did against the advice of Boras. That WS start was epic up until the 9th.
  4. Bleed it dry, leave us here with nothing Justify all that you consume Bleed it dry, what is this becoming? All your lies serve no one but you One day you will see what you've done The world you chose to bleed will be dead and gone
  5. I always thought it was a woman. Maybe Caroll Dodd? No idea who that is and I couldn't find much info on her but she gets credited with an intro on this site (look under Production): https://blueoystercult.fandom.com/wiki/On_Your_Feet_or_on_Your_Knees Confirmed: https://www.hotrails.co.uk/bocfaq/faq_03.htm The "introduction" of the band that appears before the final song was done by BOC lighting director Carol Dodds, who usually did the nightly introduction of the band.
  6. Did you guys catch the quotes from Terry Collins? Apparently Harvey's drug usage was an open secret: https://nypost.com/2022/02/15/matt-harvey-talked-about-killing-himself-while-with-the-mets/
  7. I've got a whole month's wages I haven't seen that much in ages I might spend it in stages And move out to Las Vegas Stone cold sober and stone cold sweat Running down the back of my neck To lose means trouble, to win pays double And I got me a heavy bet Cold, cold sweat
  8. I love the newer ski and board events - the more sliding downhill the better imo. And I am not a young viewer.
  9. When I look at the taxes I pay vs. the taxes on that house and the relative values of the two properties...I feel like the new owner is getting a better tax assessment than me. That property is maybe 15-20 miles from me - but it would be a long swim.
  10. I'm the burning bush, I'm the burning fire I'm the bleeding volcano I'm so hot for her, I'm so hot for her I'm so hot for her and she's so cold
  11. Not losing interest in the NFL. If I'm sitting in front of a TV with control of the remote and there's an NFL game on chances are I am watching. When my eldest moved up to High School I started going to the home football games - and now I look forward to them. Now he's a freshman at a marginally competitive Big 10 school and I'm paying more attention to college football. I enjoy all three levels for what they are but the NFL has the elite talent and better competitive balance. Getting past the rainbows and unicorns @sherpa touched on one of my big pet peeves: "Tired of looking for the flag indication on every decent play." The way we watch games and the way they are announced these days revolves around instant replay, poor officiating, ambiguous rules and an over-whelming need for every outcome to be perfect/correct - even though nobody can agree on what constitutes perfect/correct. It's an exercise in futility and negatively impacts my game day viewing. I blame instant replay the most. But I still can't wait for next season to start.
  12. You know I'm born to lose, and gambling's for fools But that's the way I like it baby I don't wanna live forever And don't forget the joker!
  13. Oh the docks are quiet (there's somethin' wrong) And there's no ships comin' in (I lock step I'm gone) Where there once was a riot (there's somethin' wrong) There's a whole lot of nothin' (I lock, step, I'm gone)
  14. I watched most of it - that's more than I can say for a lot of other SB half-times. I liked that it wasn't an over-blown production. Not my music but there were parts I liked.
  15. LOL - the answer to the bolded question is pretty much yes - can't think of any artists I listen to regularly that predate my time on earth - which helps explain why I didn't get where you were coming from. I was also surprised to learn that you heard the song on Sirius recently. Thanks for the response.
  16. And now it looks like innocence is gone I know right and I know what's wrong Feeling lonely that's the way it goes Sometimes Could I ever have been so blind
  17. You got me runnin', goin' out of my mind You got me thinkin' that I'm wastin' my time Don't bring me down
  18. Not born yet - that helps explain your disdain for them. To each their own - but I'm still baffled how you knew of Christine Sixteen since you weren't born and think Kiss sucks. That song had a shelf life of maybe a year or two at best.
  19. I can file this one under "I wasn't 16 yet" when it came out so it was more aspirational than creepy at the time. Creepy for sure with the benefit of hindsight. Awesome that you remember a forgettable song from 1977 well enough to inform us that Kiss sucks.
  20. Lady, when you're with me I'm smiling Give me all your love Your hands build me up when I'm sinking Just touch me and my troubles all fade
  21. I'm down with both sentiments. We should've won in regulation, we could've won in OT with a defensive stop. The equal possessions in OT argument falls short for me. Since everyone assumes whichever team won the toss would drive downfield for a TD - doesn't it follow that given the chance the team that lost the toss would do the same? If so it puts us back at square one and solves nothing. Second team actually has the advantage of not having to decide whether to go for it on 4th down or not.
  22. She shuts the doors and lights and lays her body on the bed Where images and words are running deep She has too much pride to pull the sheets above her head So quietly she lays and waits for sleep
  23. Blue-eyed boy meets a brown-eyed girl Oh oh oh, the sweetest thing
  24. I always look for a positive. Seems like they aren't negotiating through the media - maybe that's a good thing.
