He prioritized being on the Titans practice squad over "other things" in spite of the $9 million. -

Maybe so, but to put things in perspective an 0-3 Jets team with a rookie QB beat them this year. -
She made a difference I guess she had a way Of making every night seem bright as day Now I walk in shadows, never see the light She must have lied, cause she never said goodbye I don't believe in love I never have, I never will I don't believe in love I'll just pretend she never was real

"... we've gotten calls all season and we've made calls at certain times to check in and say, 'Hey, if your situation changes' ... Looks like a guy who's dealing from a position of power. Good times! -
Yup I get that. But they are a completely different band live - including their own material. Saw them absolutely crush an average song to open a show a few years back. Didn't know either of the origs from Beefheart/Shadows so that mashup was lost on me - but very cool that the concept dates back. Here's my fave UM mashup from a Halloween show (skip the first 2:15 of band/costume intros):

I had the good fortune of seeing PT's second to last concert at Radio City. Was very disappointed when they broke up. Saw Steven Wilson on the Hand tour - not nearly as good solo.

Completely agree - sh!t happens and if it's handled in-house effectively who cares. At the time I thought Lindor handled it well with the rat story that was so ridiculous that it was a giant middle finger to prying eyes. The timing with the GM getting cut loose makes sense. If so, what a douche.

They say our love won't pay the rent Before it's earned, our money's all been spent I guess that's so, we don't have a pot But at least I'm sure of all the things we got Babe I got you babe, I got you babe

I've seen that, love it! I still have a connection with a friend from 2nd grade that I listened to Chicago with. He went on to a career in music. I was thrilled when both my boys played 25 or 6 o 4 in their middle school jazz bands. When my eldest was in high school the jazz band played Make Me Smile and the drummer absolutely stomped his solo towards the end. Good times!

I'm all over the place with what I listen to and what I like. Hard rock, blues. metal, punk, reggae, ska, pop,...recently I revisited some of the 70's Soul Train-ish stuff. And if there's humor involved, even better - pretty sure we both share a love of Zappa. There are still great bands making music. One band worth checking out (if you're not already familiar) is Umphreys McGee. IMO they're a jam band without the hippie mentality. They play pretty much every genre that I like, great live band and have a history of mashups/medleys like this (Marley/Talking Heads/Chicago/Zappa):

I did not know that. I'm sometimes amazed at the great music I've never heard. This thread has been good for that. BTW, Dumb All Over deserved more than one like from me. I remember hearing a rockin' live version many years ago - back when the term bootleg would have applied.

@Gugny @Another Fan Damn, who knew the Ratgate would still have legs. According to the story, Lindor actually grabbed McNeil by the throat. I wonder who leaked the story - maybe the recently fired Zack Scott https://nypost.com/2021/11/03/francisco-lindor-grabbed-jeff-mcneil-by-throat-during-mets-spat/

Lattice of coincidence. Heard this for the first time a few weeks ago hanging with a friend. He told me it was Boz and said guess the guitarist. Mentally Duane was my best guess -but I dismissed it cuz I didn't think Boz went back that far.
