  1. That was my plan as well -buy another Ego and I have a backup battery for both. But the weight/size of the lawn mower battery makes me question whether it plugs into Ego's weed whacker. TBH, I got the electric mower in large part anticipating the upcoming ban on gas blowers/whackers.
  2. At the risk of hijacking a Yankees thread, I'd appreciate your thoughts as an Orioles fan on Mullins. My son went to college in the area and said his friends were disappointed to see him traded. Seemed like a marginal upgrade to me.
  3. The one thing I didn't make sure of is whether the battery for the Ego works with their other products. Lawn mower battery is pretty beefy, maybe heavier than I'd want for a weed whacker or leaf blower, but that's a next year problem - when my local town will likely ban gas powered whackers/blowers.
  4. LOL, so growing season you just finish and have to start all over? If you had to replace your Ego tomorrow would you go back to gas?
  5. Sharing my 2025 lawn mower journey in case it's useful to anyone. I have 1/2 acre that is a bear during growing season, gotta mow it every 4-5 days to keep up which isn't always possible. Going into 2025 I had two gas mowers and three lawn mowers (me and two sons). It became obvious early season that I was going to have to replace or fix one or both of my mowers so I was following this thread. The older one had issues with the self-propelled drive and I thought I had that solved by replacing the front wheels as the drive wheel gears were stripped. Shortly thereafter the frame on the newer one cracked rendering it completely useless. I thought about salvaging the engine and putting it on the older one but that looked kind of daunting and regardless I was in the market for a new mower. I considered an electric mower but wasn't convinced that would be a good option for my 1/2 acre so I bought a Toro gas. The big conundrum was front or rear wheel drive. I always had front wheel drive and what I read was that rear wheel was better for hills (I'm mostly flat) but you could tear up the lawn when turning with a rear wheel drive. Toro I bought was rear wheel and that turned out to be a complete non-issue due to the way you engage the self-propelled drive. Love the new Toro with one exception: the handle is way to high and a major pain in the @ss when I'm mowing around the edges/hedges - handle constantly gets stuck in low-lying branches. In the mean time, replacing the drive wheels on the older mower was an improvement but the drive was still no bueno. Tried replacing the drive belt but that didn't help much and so I was back in the market for a second mower. Knowing the Toro could handle the entire lawn I was more inclined to go electric and ended up buying an Ego - rear wheel drive. Made sure the handle was lower addressing my only issue with the Toro. Used it for the first time yesterday. The Ego is capable but less powerful than the Toro and the one issue is that when you're turning it you have to disengage the drive (or rip up the lawn) and there's a delay when you re-engage that is annoying af. Only did half the lawn and the battery was just above half charge so it might be capable of doing the whole lawn on one battery. Looking forward I may have to replace leaf blower and/or weed whacker in the next year or two and I'll look into Ego (brother in-law has been happy with both) especially if batteries are interchangable.
  6. Take this with a grain of salt cuz I'm a Mets fan - but at some point Boone has to take a hit for the mental mistakes. Is it too much to ask to send a message by sitting Jazz for a game or two?
  7. This. Von Miller was an attempt to address that but unfortunately the injury derailed it. We have the QB, but we're missing a game wrecker on D.
  8. That album was the first I'd heard of the band and I liked it. Enough so that I took a deeper dive into their earlier albums and was surprised how much they reminded me of the Ramones And then I heard this and was convinced it was a homage to the mighty Ramones But it's possible I overthink sh!t. Regardless, interesting career arc for the Goo Goo Dolls from punk to Iris.
  9. I grew up watching Norm on Cheers. Not sure if drinking beer counts as a hobby, but I strive for perfection all the same.
  10. Nothing here to disagree and that's a great way of describing Baty. It's why I put Vientos ahead of him, at least we've seen what he is capable of. As for Mauricio, for every Crow-Armstrong there's one or more Kelenic's - but Mauricio's ceiling looks pretty damn high.
  11. I've asked my sons and friends this question and until now it was unanimous that everyone wanted to hold on to Mauricio the most. I think there are arguments for all, but here's my list: Mauricio: I think he has the highest upside Vientos: I expected a sophomore slump (maybe not as bad as it's been) and just can't ignore how impactful he was last year. On the downside, unless Pete walks after this year I don't like him at third base. Acuna: this is the type of player we need. Speed, versatility, glove,...I really wanted to put him second. Baty: from what I've seen, I think his ceiling is an above average but not great player
  12. Outstanding player, formidable opponent, respect. RIP
  13. @Another Fan @ExWNYer @Gugny Without knowing what would come back but assuming it's good, rank the following in order of who you don't want to part with: Acuna, Baty, Mauricio, Vientos
  14. Hysterical juxtaposition of those two renditions. Rocks is my fave Aerosmith album, Back In The Saddle set the tone, another good one below. Joe Perry is playing with Brad Whitford, Chris Robinson (Black Crowes) and guys from the Stone Temple Pilots. That won't suck.
  15. @Another Fan @ExWNYer @Gugny Epic Keith: https://nypost.com/2025/07/26/sports/snys-keith-hernandez-bluntly-calls-out-hot-mic-heckler-shut-up/ Keith Hernandez had no patience for a rowdy fan at Oracle Park on Friday night. After Ronny Mauricio fouled one off in the second inning of the Mets’ 8-1 win over the Giants, a fan yelled, “That was a weak swing!” While SNY play-by-player Gary Cohen tried to keep the conversation on Mauricio, Hernandez jumped in about the fan. “Give that guy a hot dog so he can chew on something and shut up,” Hernandez said.
  16. That football team in western New York would argue otherwise.
  17. Levi Stadium (49ers) and MetLife (Jets/Giants) aren't open air? Perhaps you meant the past 10 years: U.S. Bank (Vikings), Mercedes (Falcons), Allegiant (Raiders) and SoFi (Chargers/Rams). And Vikings, Falcons and Rams had already played indoors.
  18. And yet still have the 4th highest winning percentage in the AL - without Cole. At the risk of sugarcoating the past two series in Toronto (concerning for sure), every team has their warts, every team has ups and downs over 162. One of my favorite lines in baseball is you're never as good as you look when things are going well or as bad as you look when things are going poorly. What's more interesting to me right now is what happens before the trade deadline. In the past the haves would use the trade deadline to bolster already very good teams. But with the expanded playoffs where the majority of teams have a reasonable chance to make a run at the playoffs after the deadline I think there's less player movement and/or the prices are higher than in the past.
  19. This is a magnanimous take and I'm maybe 90% on board. The other 10% is the %$@ him sentiment I have cuz he ended up being a dreadful first rounder for us at a position where he could have made a difference (even a small one could have helped).
  20. Ozzy's split from Sabbath rejuvenated Sabbath when they brought in Dio and launched a great solo career for Ozzy. Win win.
  21. Some of my faves from Ozzy:
  22. One of my favorite asks of college students (or grads) is to tell me about one of their professors. Could be a good one, bad one, unusual one....whichever one stood out for whatever reason.
