  1. Inside my future life What I see just makes me cry I'm way down now I'm way down now The clocks will all run backwards All the sheep will have two heads And Thursday night and Friday Will be on Tuesday night instead
  2. A team that gets one shot on goal in 30 minutes. That was brutal, you could see it coming before the third period started.
  3. (empty spaces)
  4. We're out, the jukebox plays Jumpin' Jack Flash She says "I love Johnny Cash," "The man in red," I turn my head And pretend not to hear what she said And I don't know where this is goin' But I've got a feelin', I'll do the drivin' from now on
  5. Now I see you, all impressed and half-undressed, You got paint stick, all over the scars, lumps and bumps Tattooed love boys got you where I used to lay But ha ha, too bad You know what they say.
  6. Hey, blue on black Tears on a river Push on a shove It don't mean much Joker on jack Match on a fire Cold on ice Is a dead man's touch Whisper on a scream Doesn't change a thing Don't bring you back Blue on black
  7. Zero. I'd be hard-pressed to duplicate Garo Yepremian's pass attempt.
  8. Wondering what I'm doing tonight I've been in the closet and feel all right Ran out of Carbona Mom threw out the glue Ran out of paint and roach spray too
  9. That song can quickly snap me out of a foul mood. The vocals, guitar work and vibe are hard to match. RIP. Also love this one.
  10. Is there such a thing as a punchable voice?
  11. It's infiltrated my local hockey TV broadcasts in between periods. Sports radio runs commercials non-stop but the sports books shows aren't during drive time so it doesn't affect me as much. But whether it's TV or radio the sports book shows have some of the most annoying personalities on the face of the planet.
  12. We did the same three cities in the same order. You will love it! We also wanted to go south but it was too much to squeeze in. If it's not already on your list make sure to go into the Pantheon in Rome. Another cool thing we did in Rome was walked across the river had lunch and walked up to Fontana dell'Acqua Paola (another fountain). The fountain was underwhelming cuz it was being refurbished but the views back to Rome made it worthwhile.
  13. Family vacation to Italy should be great. We did the same a few years back. It was my only visit to Europe and fantastic. Enjoy!
  14. Since you're at a hotel near JFK, I'm assuming you're headed to parts elsewhere tomorrow. If so - happy trails, if not - my condolences for whatever brought you there (and hoping I just didn't make an @ss of myself). Agreed on the 'break in' year. I had higher expectations than most going into the season - but quickly went to a darker place than I'm prone to a few games in. On the plus side, Butto is an early contender for surprise contributor/
  15. @ExWNYer @Gugny @Another Fan One of the many questions marks for me this year is the manager. I liked the text-book bunt by Taylor and the double-steal with D.J. Stewart on the back end the past few games. Also liked that he put trust in a reliever I can't name to close out a game instead of over-working Diaz. And some nice comments wrt the 0-5 start: https://nypost.com/2024/04/16/sports/carlos-mendoza-passed-mets-test-after-ugly-0-5-start/
  16. Lie lie lie lie lie lie liar Lie lie lie lie you liar lie lie lie I think you're funny you're funny ha ha I don't need it don't need your blah blah Should've realized I don't know what you are
  17. I have mixed emotions on retiring Doc's number. He had a remarkable run with the Mets (1985 was spectacular) but it was short lived. If you haven't seen it, SNY put together a documentary on Doc that was very well done, capturing both the highs and the lows.
  18. Fun fact: Stray Cats hooked up with Lemmy from Motorhead and toured together as Headcats before Lemmy's passing.
  19. @Gugny @Another Fan @ExWNYer Last nights game had all the earmarks of a loss. Felt like a given that we'd get burned by Guillorme, Kelenic or even D'Arnaud. And Teheran debuting as a Met against the Braves had trouble written all over it - when we went down 4-0 I almost turned it off. Glad I stuck around. Two comebacks, a gutsy performance by Drew Smith (gotta admit, I'm not his biggest fan) and throw in a perturbed Keith moment and it was a pretty good night.
  20. On Long Island we had an aftershock around 6 PM that was 3.8.
  21. Are you sure it wasn't the breakfast burrito? jk, that may be the furthest I've heard, the other two were @Irv in indianapolis and my son in Maryland.
  22. The race for WC 2 is more than those three teams - and except for the Wings is a race to WC2 and Met 3. But I love the Stooges and agree with the premise that none of these teams don't appear to be serious Cup contenders. But a heartfelt thanks to the Sabres, Hurricanes and (one of my two most hated sports franchises) Rangers for putting the Islanders above a Wild Card spot for the time being.
