  1. You are a complete dumb-a$$!!!! What Hill did against Altuve was impressive. Made him swing like a girl on the 1st inning strike out and then had him over-swinging in a crucial 2nd at bat.
  2. Verlander is due for an off start, but Rich Hill would concern me more. I think he will get lit up.
  3. It came down to 3 pitches. 2 by Keuchel, 1 by Kershaw. I asked this in the Shoutbox and I could google but what fun is that? Are the Astros the first team to go to the WS from both the AL and NL? In my life I think only the Brewers and Astros switched leagues. Is there an old team that did it? Philadelphia A's? Boston Braves?
  4. Happy Birthday!
  5. No tips from an outsider, but you'll both have a great weekend, the people in Buffalo are outstanding. My GF surprised me with a trip in 2000 and we returned with the fam for the Broncos a few weeks ago. Hope the two of you have great times together in the next 17 years...but without all the Bills losses! BTW, like the screen name CAN'T TANK!!
  6. Crusader!!!! A few years back I didn't know this song but saw Warren and Gov't Mule crush it along with Bang A Gong teasers.
  7. Agreed. I don't get the rush to look forward to the off-season and next season when we've: only played 6 games, played reasonably well and have a winning record. The season should be the best part of the football year, not the off-season. Right now I'm loving it and I'll worry about the off season when we get there. My opinion of the team and its players is likely to be different at that point than it is now for better or worse. Go Bills!
  8. Props to you. All I remember is having his football card. Did Rick Upchurch do any dancing/celebrating or was he just the bandana sticking out from the helmet guy?
  9. Are you serious? There is NO WAY the refs could call unsportsmanlike against the Rams on that play. But I'll bet they thought about it.
  10. On the flip side of the coin it sends a message to the other team that we're not going away which could deflate them. More than anything I think its a positive sign that the team is headed in the right direction and not the same old Bills we've seen during the drought.
  11. Oops. missed that - thanks.
  12. Someone in the Shoutbox today mentioned how the Bills have been answering opposing team points with their own, something I'd been thinking as well so I looked it up. Looking at the scoring summaries the opposing team has scored twice in a row 4 times, and it hasn't happened three times in a row but we answered 18 times. Jets: we answered 2 of their 3 scores Panthers: 1 of 3 Broncos: all 4 Falcons: all 3 Bengals 3 of 4 Bucs all 4 EDIT: 4 of 5 Call it what you want, but I call it encouraging. What's missing is we rarely score first (1 out of 6 games) and rarely score three straight times (once against the Broncos)
  13. In keeping with the previous Peter Griffin reference and apologies for the bad quality:
  14. Strudel zum Toasten? Ist es auch gut?
  15. The writing was on the wall when Judge stole the HR. Second time that's happened with a NY team in a game 7 championship series game and both were losses.
  16. Allmans and Wolfmother back to back. Nice.
  17. T-N-T and "It's a Long Way To The Top" are my AC/DC faves (who knew bag pipes could kick a$$). But I'm not embarrassed singing them unless someone turns down the volume on me. Of course that goes for any song.
  18. I'm a Mets fan too and this sums it up pretty well for me. I can't think of anything to hate about this group of Yankees...except of course that they are Yankees Only thing I disagree with is the playing with house money comment. That was probably true up until they won the last game. Now it's on them to finish the job. Getting this far isn't easy, especially coming back from 0-2 in 2 straight series. And as bright as things look right now, it can change quickly. Don't want to squander an unexpected opportunity like the Mets did a few years ago,
  19. You reached out to this board and it responded with compassion and advice and I hope that helps. All I can add is one more voice of compassion. I wish you all the best.
  20. . ..or if your sample set is too limited you could arrive at the wrong solution for all the right reasons.
  21. ...or there's more than one possible solution. If we can assume a '+" somehow relates to a*b + (a-1)*a no reason we couldn''t also assume the sequence of the equations has significance. In truth, I like the a*b + (a-1)*a solution better, just thought it was interesting that I came at it from a slightly different angle.
  22. I was assuming the order of the equations mattered and was independent of a: 3+7 = 3*7 + 3*1 = 24 2+3 = 2*3 + 2*2 = 10
  23. FWIW, I looked at it using a sequence: 1. 2+3=8 2. 3+7=27 3. 4+5=32 4. 5+8=60 5. 6+7=72 6. 7+8=? Using the sequence number, this equation works: a*b + seq*a = c 7*8 +6*7 = 98
  24. His principles only went so far: "If they take football away, my endorsements from me, I know that I stood up for what is right" http://ftw.usatoday.com/2016/08/colin-kaepernick-49ers-national-anthem-sit-explains
