  1. I'm late to the party but that's what I was thinking last night. Mistake may have been making a break for it after almost handing the ball to the ref.
  2. I needed a day to digest this loss and I'm still taking antacids. I'm not an X's and O's guy but from what I saw we were dominated on both sides of the line and it was a totally demoralizing loss, especially coming in with high expectations after the uplifting win on Sunday. I'm cautiously optimistic. We aren't a playoff team but last I checked neither are any other teams right now. we are 5-3. 8 games ago I would have signed on the dotted line for 5-3. I like the idea of looking at the season in quarters. 1st quarter we were a surprising 3-1. I didn't expect another 3-1 but I was hopeful. 27 hours ago I could smell 6-2 but it didn't happen and that hurts, but 5-3 is more than I expected. We have some good teams coming up the next 4 games and I remain cautiously optimistic. I think it's rare that any team goes a full season without getting thumped at least once and I'm not trying to sugarcoat the loss, but schitt happens and yesterday it happened to us. Yesterdays game is far less important than the next. The Bills have been pretty resilient this year, going 5-3 despite only putting the first points on the board in one of those games. Lets hope they bounce back from a brutal loss with a W against the Saints! Go Bills
  3. Not sure if this was already mentioned. First it was Deonte Thompson and now Kelvin, anyone else we should import from Glades Central: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glades_Central_High_School
  4. Master of the Obvious!
  5. Fixed. This is not the game that matters with KB
  6. Are teams built for 162 games or sequences of 4-6 games? I think it's the latter. The lack of off days during the regular season forces the roster to be exposed. Especially if you play real baseball like the NL. But the extra off days in the post season changes everything and allow teams to hide their flaws, particularly inn the bullpen. Easier said than done, but eliminate post-season off days. 7 game series are the way to go...it mimics the norm of 3 game regular season series. 9 is kooky talk. Left the room for a minute. Did they just go to replay to see if Utley was interfered with on a straight-in slide?
  7. 85% and not one bit less.
  8. Yes, I 100% equated like with good in my response. Your point is valid, there is a lot of music that I don't like that I would consider "good". The opposite is true as well. I can think of at least one band that I think is great that is more Caddyshack 2 than Godfather. Anyway, my objection to your original post was what I perceived as a blanket indictment that 90% of the shared music on this thread was crap. Simply put, I don't share that viewpoint.
  9. Nice call: https://www.si.com/mlb/2017/10/29/world-series-baseballs-leather-justin-verlander-yu-darvish-ken-giles-kenley-jansen
  10. Close but no cigar!
  11. It's like a slo-pitch softball game, no lead is safe.
  12. And here comes the tying run to the plate. Sleep? Who needs sleep?
  13. He made a highlight reel catch when his LF was already settled under the ball a few games back (might have been against the Yanks). Over aggressive on the ball tonight, either over aggressive or crowd noise on the earlier one.
  14. Raise your hand if you had Keuchel and Kershaw not making it out of the 5th. What a great game. Doubt I'll make it to the last out tonight, but glad that the Houston and LA markets have it easier. Unsolicited prediction with the score 8-7 top 7 man on third two out: after being told he lost his role as closer, Giles gets the save tonight.
  15. Fish reference was to Sturgeon's Law. Do you think all music is equal? No. Is it all good? No. But to me that's a personal preference and subjective. My good isn't your good. The criteria used to decide what is good is equally personal and subjective. Is all the music shared here, good, in your opinion? There's some music on this thread that I like and some that I don't like . I just don't classify the stuff I don't care for as crap.
  16. I think you don't get yourself and the fish reference. You basically denigrated 95% of posters shared music choices based on the bolded. Call me out if I missed it but I don't remember many (if any) "this band has a great stage show/image" comments. WRT to the last bolded piece, what's the statute of limitations when we can determine a song is good enough to be considered "high quality"?
  17. (WRT 2-3-2)
  18. Thanks for the explanation but I think I understood you all along. As you said yourself, you're a music snob, if it's not to your taste its in the 95%.
  19. Just so I understand: your posts were the 10% (or less generous) and everyone elses's shared music was crap? I thought I was done with that crap argument when my father passed away.
  20. Not a fan of the negativity but The Loss Boys?
  21. That's a great point. Amazing how the position has become devalued when you look back at the Herschel Walker mega-trade (1989) and Ricky Williams being traded for the Saints draft board (1999).
  22. In general terms I would not take the QB in that scenario. The only thing I'd counter with is that this only takes into account one year. At some point I think you have to take a chance and reach for a QB. They did it with EJ and it didn't work out, but I had no problem with it. But I wouldn't want to do that every year.
  23. It's interesting how differently the bullpens are being managed. HInch is giving his guys a chance to succeed, Roberts is managing his scared (of course it didn't help that Darvish was so bad). That double play Houston turned early was a thing of beauty.
  24. That's a great one! I actually linked to it a few pages back but for some reason the video didn't embed.
  25. Murphy and Turner?
