  1. Not a TBD name but how about "Icy McIceFace". And if that doesn't work just go with Attenborough.
  2. Early Aerosmith could go toe to toe with any rock band. Personally, I'm partial to Rocks, an all-time great album.
  3. That was slamming! Always liked that song, can't remember last time I heard it. Love when a cover can be true to the original and breathe new life into it at the same time.
  4. I don't believe for a second that the fix is in, but a blocked PAT at 22-16 with a 5 1/2 point spread would be pretty suspicious to the conspiracy crowd.
  5. Around 1994 or so, my company sent me to work down in the DC area for the better part of a year. Met and worked with a guy that was from N.O. and a huge Saints fan going back to the Archie days. I haven't seen him since but we've stayed in contact through email mostly in season and around the draft. His thoughts on Sunday: Saints D is for real. Our running game is impressive. Our passing game can be explosive. Brees is playing smart ball. Our special teams are scoring their own points. Your Bills are gonna kill us. If you can play their QB this week in fantasy you will get monster points. We are due for a collapse. Woe is us. I think I'll eat some worms.
  6. Saints have won 6 straight. Due for a loss. And we're just the guys to do it.
  7. Scheme and talent go hand in hand. In a perfect world you have both great scheme and talent. Most teams don't. It's an interesting point that a new coaches scheme may get figured out after some initial success, but in the end any good coach will need to adjust scheme in-game and in-season and to a lesser extent off-season. I hope we found that coach. Off-season is the time to improve the talent to fit the scheme (and/or tweak it). IMO we made a rare significant in-season addition adding Benjamin. I'm optimistic that will keep this season on an upward trajectory. Go Bills!
  8. I think its more of a factor for established players later in their careers. Lechler (yeah I know, a punter) did it after years with Oakland and Marshawn did it coming back to his home town after semi-retirement. I think a player coming off his rookie contract is looking for the dollars first and home town second.
  9. I'm not sure if he was being serious, but yesterday Mike Francesa (WFAN radio) claimed this game would set a record for combined teams played for by opposing starting QBs. 7 for Fitz, 8 for McCown.
  10. Well then I guess you don't feel sorry for me. As I said, I do think of the past, present and future, I just focus most on the present.
  11. I'll bet some people have great memories of the 2003 yard season. I followed it through the newspapers. Anyway, just sad that an all-time great is (and should be) an after-thought.
  12. Great song, still gets some love. I've seen it covered by Gov't Mule and Magpie Salute in the past few years. Mule was kind enough to precede it with One Of These Days.
  13. Parcells accomplished a lot and was great for a sound bite but for me his greatness as a coach is diminished by the fact that both his SB wins were with Belichik. And we are all painfully aware that the opposite is not true. I'd watch a Parcells 30 for 30, couldn't stomach it with the other guy
  14. Unless I missed another post, I think this is the first OJ reference. From a selfish Bills fan perspective it sucks that his accomplishments as a Bill can no longer be enjoyed.
  15. I read a book once that categorized people based on their main focus: past, present and future. Thought that was a cool perspective and I know people I can put in each category. Me, I'm present focused. We are 5-3, but coming off a demoralizing loss and what matters most to me is Sunday and getting back on track. Doesn't mean that I dismiss the gloom and doom of the past 17 years or that it doesn't creep into my present day mind set. It does. Also doesn't mean that I dismiss winning the AFC East or making the playoffs as a possibility either because of the Pats sustained success, the schedule ahead or any other reason. Also doesn't mean I can't envision winning the AFC East or making the playoffs. Winning or losing on Sunday will not clinch or eliminate us from the post-season. So present day guy says win Sunday! Because it would be better than losing. EDIT: oops...to answer the OP's question: it's too early to talk Wild Card. Why sell ourselves short?
  16. Taking my kids to their first NFL game against the Broncos in September. Didn't want to leave the stadium after the game. They still talk about the super-exuberant guy sitting next to them: "If this isn't a top 5 defense, I don't know what is!!!!". Walking past Andre Reed on the way back to the car. Going out to eat before the flight home, still seeing all the Bills jerseys and talking Bills with the waiter. As for game play, it's the Comeback hands down.
  17. McAdoo deserves to be the first to go. In addition to the record and todays game, the suspensions to DRC and Jenkins lead me to believe he's lost the locker room. But the Giants aren't usually prone to knee-jerk reactions so he may last longer than he would in another organization. Pagano has my vote in large part because I think Irsay is more impulsive. Hue Jackson is a contender because, um, well the Browns. But more to the point there was a story out today that Jackson and the coaching staff thought the GM intentionally scuttled the McCarron trade
  18. I knew this rang a bell. This link is old, not sure if the rule changed since: http://www.espn.com/blog/new-york/giants/post/_/id/7449/breaking-down-cruzs-fumble-that-wasnt So not to beat a dead horse, but if the same rule is in effect and if he hadn't made a break for it after giving up on the play it may have gone a different way.
  19. I'm late to the party but that's what I was thinking last night. Mistake may have been making a break for it after almost handing the ball to the ref.
  20. I needed a day to digest this loss and I'm still taking antacids. I'm not an X's and O's guy but from what I saw we were dominated on both sides of the line and it was a totally demoralizing loss, especially coming in with high expectations after the uplifting win on Sunday. I'm cautiously optimistic. We aren't a playoff team but last I checked neither are any other teams right now. we are 5-3. 8 games ago I would have signed on the dotted line for 5-3. I like the idea of looking at the season in quarters. 1st quarter we were a surprising 3-1. I didn't expect another 3-1 but I was hopeful. 27 hours ago I could smell 6-2 but it didn't happen and that hurts, but 5-3 is more than I expected. We have some good teams coming up the next 4 games and I remain cautiously optimistic. I think it's rare that any team goes a full season without getting thumped at least once and I'm not trying to sugarcoat the loss, but schitt happens and yesterday it happened to us. Yesterdays game is far less important than the next. The Bills have been pretty resilient this year, going 5-3 despite only putting the first points on the board in one of those games. Lets hope they bounce back from a brutal loss with a W against the Saints! Go Bills
  21. Not sure if this was already mentioned. First it was Deonte Thompson and now Kelvin, anyone else we should import from Glades Central: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glades_Central_High_School
  22. Fixed. This is not the game that matters with KB
