  1. Have you seen Dweezil and the Zappa Plays Zappa shows? First time I saw them they played Muffin Man with Frank on video providing the solo.
  2. Foo Fighters would be good until Grohl unloads a fusillade of F-bombs. Gwar has the Beavis and Butthead seal of approval so even though I've never heard them, thumbs up. Roger Waters would make things interesting. Maybe Neil Young could join him on stage. Kiss would be entertaining. EDIT: I forgot they already played a SB half-time
  3. Sunday was my first time at the stadium since 2000. I'd read a number of horror stories on this board about the crowd behavior and was a bit apprehensive since I'd be with my wife and kids. I saw a few minor things but nothing notable. On the other hand, I've been to a number of Jets games in the interim and I judge crowd behavior by the number of upper deck fights/brawls. I consider one or two to be a well-behaved crowd. I pretty much expect to see security rushing to the upper rows a few times a game.
  4. Are you an OSU football fan? If so, read on. My son just entered high school and is in the marching band. I had heard a few years ago that our marching band is head and shoulders above the others in the area. Our football team not so much. So I go to the first game of the year to see my son play at half-time and this player on the other team (Lindenhurst) just wrecks the game, a man among boys. WR, LB and kicker. Unstoppable. The next morning I pick up the Sunday paper and he's front and center on the high school section...and he's committed to OSU as a tight end. Here's the story: http://www.newsday.com/sports/high-school/football/ohio-state-football-commit-jeremy-ruckert-ready-for-a-big-senior-year-at-lindenhurst-1.14107369 And if you're interested in a high school marching band that doesn't suck: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9H6dyzlWwoc
  5. Nobody ever said a marching band would sell out a stadium. I believe OP was saying he's been to games where the marching band was great but the home team wasn't that day. I guess I'm the highly unlikely anyone who is a Bills fan with zero ties to OSU that saw the video I linked to above and was impressed and cares enough to check out their performances on youtube. The Kinnick Stadium comment was just silly.
  6. I came across this a few years back and it is outstanding. At one point OSU band is playing Frankenstein and march as Frankenstein playing guitar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9UFW72NeTgg
  7. I know I've seen this in other threads but my search skills must be lacking and I couldn't find it. How long should I expect to wait in a security line getting in to the game on Sunday and is there a preferred entrance or just luck of the draw?
  8. Going down that route eh? What's the first thing a woman should do when she gets back from the battered womens shelter? The dishes if she knows whats good for her.
  9. So you're rooting for the Bills? Or just coming for the tailgate?
  10. I'm a Mets fan too...sucks but I have vague memories of 1969 and GREAT memories of Seaver. My reply was to your statement: "I honestly don't care. I'm just glad we lost that pathetic game. One game closer to a better draft pick and getting rid of a crap QB. How's that for analysis?" I do care, I suspect you do too. I get your point about the draft pick but: Will you root for the Bills this Sunday at New Era?
  11. Just curious, after you meet up with your TBD bros at Hammers Lot, will you go into the stadium...and if you do...will you root for the Bills?
  12. Yeah 10-7 sucked against the Broncos in 92...not deserved at all!
  13. Or ... you could think about it more realistically and realize that most teams that win football games score more than 9 points.
  14. I will be in the 300's Sunday for my first game since 2000. First game ever for my sons. Avoided the 100's due to concerns raised on this site about fans standing in the lower sections. BTW, I have no issue with fans standing all game...if it happens up n the 300's and my kids can't see, probably means we're taming those Broncos! All good.
  15. That's one take and while I agree whole-heartedly that one play rarely makes/breaks a game, another take might be "Can we all agree that if you only gave up 9 points on the road with under a minute that you should expect (not going with deserve) to win a game? So no, I don't agree with your premise that the number of points you've scored with a minute left in the game determines whether you "deserve" to win the game.
  16. Who do you credit the Eichel tank job to? The owners? Those they hired? I'd have a problem with it if it was the owners.
  17. Agree 100%. Can't speak to Eichel, did he fall into the Sabres laps or was that a genius pick? As to the Bills and your comment, it's an interesting dichotomy...I want an ownership with the football savvy to build a winner, but the ability/humility to put people place to do so and watch it happen.
  18. I'm not disagreeing with anything you've said. But do you put it on (or credit) the ownership to find Eichel or the QB? I don't.
  19. No vote on the Sabres. A+ on the Bills so far. They were willing to spend big money on Rex and then willing to cut their losses when it was an obvious mistake. As fas as I can tell they are not meddling on personnel issues. Not sure what's not to like a few years in.
  20. Love this joke, told it many times, but I heard/told it from the perspective of the guy coming home from work and wife won the lottery. Either way, great one.
