  1. A few years ago I was driving north to go skiing with two close friends and put the following on, knowing one would say it was Iron Maiden and the other would say it was Opeth. Of course they were both correct.
  2. I'm not a big fan of the growling, Cookie Monster vocals but sometimes I like the backing music enough to tolerate it. Opeth is the only band I've heard where the Cookie Monster vocals augment the song. Drapery Falls is a great example. Funny thing is Akerfeldt has a great voice.
  3. I've only been to three Bills home games, but I do have a Big Tree story from the first trip. 1998, a co-worker that I'd had beers with a few times asks me if I want to go with his friends (who I'd never met) to a Bills game. Hell yeah! As it turns out my b-day was on Friday and my close friends had me out way too late. I got less than 3 hours sleep when they picked me up. The hangover hit about halfway to Buffalo. Regardless, we hit a club that night and the game the next day (13-10 over the Pats). After the game we went to another bar (yup, The Big Tree). Little did I know some of the Bills would be showing up. Cool as hell. What I remember most was squeezing past Bruce in the packed bar. Wall of a man, holy crap. Funny thing is none of the guys I was with were hard core Bills fans, one guy was marginal. Good times.
  4. Has the schedule on the TBD home page been updated yet? jk
  5. Eddie Feigner. I saw the King and his court in the early 90's.
  6. There's a few reasons I can envision it going downhill fast. That doesn't mean I'm predicting it will happen. The number of players/coaches on each team make it more difficult to control in a few ways, particularly without a bubble. The more people you have the more likely someone will break from the protocols. The players/coaches interact with families and friends outside of the facility.. Throw in the close contact of a football game for three hours and the risk seems higher to me. You mentioned there hasn't been a known case of transmission on the field. Does that mean that we haven't had a player with Covid play on Sunday yet or that we have had a player with Covid play on Sunday but nobody caught it. The latter would be more predictive than the former for me. One positive is that MLB had some cases early on and got it under control. Maybe that will happen with the NFL season as well.
  7. It's a good point. The NHL and NBA went with the bubble, MLB had a plan to make up games on off days and with 7 inning doubleheaders. The NFL really made no concessions except acknowledging the season might get extended. I'm not in backfire mode just yet, but it's not looking good. Early in the MLB season things looked pretty bleak but somehow it never got untenable. With the NFL it's easy to envision things going downhill quickly.
  8. I started with the premise that playing the Titans this week was off the table. If the NFL thinks it's safe to play the game, I'm on board. I agree there's a lot of $ on the line and I don't think the NFL would put the Bills at unnecessary risk because doing so puts the $ at unnecessary risk too.
  9. I would hope at least privately they discussed parameters around extending/shortening the season and forfeits based on how bad things get. My vote is to extend the season unless the postponements become untenable. More weeks of football == more fun. I know some folks will complain about competitive advantages but that just doesn't bother me that much this year.
  10. Does anyone know what the NFL's contingency plan was for postponed games? Having the Bills play the Broncos this week just ensures that one more game gets played. The opening a slot in the schedule on December 20 doesn't necessarily help the rescheduling issues.
  11. I could remember not long ago We took a cruise down on Hotel Row. Mainline Florida, oh say. Mainline Florida, O.K.
  12. I was thinking the same exact thing - before they missed the extra point.
  13. Agreed on the Chiefs. Bills get the opportunity to make a statement in a few weeks.
  14. It was bizarre watching a documentary on a 2006 college game with a 2013 NFL crawl. As I was watching I assumed it was before the Rex hire too. I had to sense check afterwards to back it into 2013. For the record the crawl said the Bills would be interviewing Gase, not that they had. I'm assuming it happened but wtf do I know?
  15. Tonight me and the boys were watching A Football Life: 2006 Rose Bowl and for some reason it included the crawl from 2013. Raise your hand if you remember this: apparently the Bills interviewed Broncos OC Adam Gase for their head coaching vacancy.
  16. The sun has gone down and the moon has come up And long ago somebody left with the cup But he's striving and driving and hugging the turns And thinking of someone for whom he still burns 'Cause he's going the distance He's going for speed
  17. David Lee Roth?
  18. Came back from that place banged up many times.
  19. I'm gonna lose it if I get Chicago/Indy instead of the Bills. I can understand Chicago/Indy being a better draw in the fly over states, but on the east and west coasts?
  20. I'm on the right track For what I want to say I got to get it out There ain't no other way To make contact There ain't no getting away From how I feel today
