Think about it from a practical standpoint. The anti-Araiza people have staked out that position because they got snookered into this "believe women" business. If we want to persuade those folks over to our side -- and I do -- we need to show them that you can support women while also supporting due process rights, including and especially the presumption of innocence. People from all across the political spectrum, ranging from Ted Kennedy to Ronald Reagan, would have agreed that those two values belong together and should not be placed in conflict. The problem with posts like yours is that woke anti-Araiza types desperately want to believe that they're the good guys in this story. They just learned that they railroaded an innocent person, so they're feeling some cognitive dissonance and looking for a way to regain their lost sense of moral superiority. Your post is the equivalent of tossing them a lifeline. It helps them believe that people like you and me are just misogynists. It makes it more difficult to win them over. We're clearly winning this argument -- don't fumble at the goal line.

Sadly, I worry that the Bills are destined to be Arsenal. Fun to watch and right there in contention, but too much of a tendency to under-deliver in big moments. I'm an Arsenal fan too. What was your favorite moment in the past month or so? The part where they blew a two goal lead against Liverpool? Or the one where they blew a two goal lead against West Ham? Or was it getting stomped by City? Why do I root for underperforming football clubs?

The Bills organization was put in a tough spot, and I wasn't in the room for any of their internal discussions. I'm not going to give them a pass, but this is one for the "file it away and move on" folder. I am however super-critical of the journalists who were primarily responsible for the punish-first-ask-questions-later approach to this. Those people should have known better, they failed to do the job they were hired to do, and frankly some of them should be fired. Stirring up a local mob against somebody who turns out to be innocent ought to be a fireable offense for a journalist.

I agree. But "the court of public opinion" is made up of individual people, and it's not unreasonable to ask those people to just stop being villains. On a very small level, that goes for guys like Buffalo_Stampede, who (charitably) get caught up in the crowd and ignored the little voice that says to maybe wait until you hear both sides of the story. I will grant, though, that it's probably asking too much to expect randos from the internet to be calm and reasonable. But what's the excuse for people like Tim Graham? Or, for that matter, Aaron Quinn? We should hold journalists and wannabe journalists to higher standards than internet randos. Getting a call like this wrong should carry reputational consequences.

It's timeless, but at the same time the existence of Curb Your Enthusiasm has taken a lot of the shine off of Seinfeld IMO. Curb is the exact same show, only without the restrictions that come with network television, and it's unambiguously better. Every time I watch Seinfeld now I can't help but think about what this show might have been if it had aired on HBO instead of NBC.

Are you still unable to see how Araiza might avoid charges? Because a bunch of us were way ahead of you on that back in August.

Wait for the facts to come out. It's not that difficult. There's no rule that says that you have to automatically believe every accusation that comes along. Suspending judgement until you know the underlying facts is pretty much always the best course of action.

I hope everybody who rushed to judgement is feeling happy about themselves right now.

The Bills are a legitimate SB contender and will be for the foreseeable future as long as Allen is healthy. I don't see how anybody who watched the second half of last season could consider us "favorites" or anything. Good team, can beat anybody on the right day, not special.

Like other people have said, the first two picks were both very good and also pretty lucky. I have a variety of opinions regarding the other picks, but honestly none of us really know how any of those later selections are going to play out. The main thing is that we drafted two players who should theoretically be competing for starting positions right away, along with a bunch of players who have viable paths to making our roster. Looks good to me. My only disappointment was not drafting a RT in round 1 or 2, but that position just wasn't an option with the way the board broke.

Kind of sad that this is even news. Why am I supposed to care about the behavior of somebody's brother? I hope Patrick Mahomes loses every game he starts against the Bills from now on, preferably in embarrassing fashion. I wish him nothing but the best in trying to deal with what I'm sure is a challenging family situation.

I was skeptical of the trade-up when it happened, but it sounds like we really did need to leapfrog Dallas if we wanted Kincaid, and it's very easy for me to believe that he was the last guy left on Beane's board with a first-round grade. So I'm fine with it, assuming that Kincaid is as advertised. I mean, the pickings were getting awfully slim at that point.

None of this can explain why Dorsey was unable to scheme Diggs open, why he couldn't use Cook or Hines in the passing game, why Shakir couldn't see the field, etc. It's okay. Dorsey was an inexperienced OC going through his first NFL season as a play-caller. It's not surprising that he might experience a bit of a learning curve. I'm a little disappointed at his performance last year, but I'm not in the building, I don't work with him each day, I can't even pretend to evaluate his football IQ, and I'll defer to our FO. If they were okay with bringing him back for Year #2, then so am I. But I'm not going to extend any benefit of the doubt beyond that. We simply cannot have our franchise QB's prime years wasted on an OC who doesn't know how to use the weapons he's given. Dorsey should absolutely be coaching for his job this year, and every year from now on. It's nothing against Dorsey personally. It's just that there are probably at least 30 guys who are capable of running this offense with the personnel we've assembled, and each of them would consider it the professional opportunity of a lifetime. I'm fine with giving Dorsey a chance, but he should rightly be on a short leash. If he can't do it this year, let's bring in somebody who can.

It's your forum, and you can run it however you want. Your house, your rules. That said, this is a pretty dumb rule in 2023. If it's on social media, it should be fair game for discussion. People who are still relying on network television, smoke signals, telegram, etc. for their news shouldn't hold the rest of us back.
