There really isn't much you can do besides give him as much autonomy as possible over the offense and more money. Beyond that it's just really up to him how much he wants to be a head coach. The good news is we finally have an owner that I feel confident would spend the money necessary to keep a top level coordinator if it came to that.

What I don't get is they traded away Jimmy Graham in order to get under the cap, but went out and signed CJ. I know they're not exactly equivalent, but if you're so cash strapped that you're getting rid of your top offensive weapon you'd think you'd be thrifty with what you spend in free agency. At a minimum you'd think you'd USE the acquisition you went out and got. That line of thinking has me with a useless spot on my fantasy football roster though.

What do you want people to say? "The Bills suck and will never get better?" Would that help? I mean what's the point of even watching the games if you can't find some way to rationalize some hope in any given scenario?

Not really. They're a good team that struggled with two physical teams. They're still going to be a playoff team.

I agree. Nothing would have turned that game around faster than the Bills giving up a turnover and the Colts scoring quickly. I thought the second half was a masterful job of continuing to work over a team, but doing it in a deliberate and careful way. Hopefully we will have to employ the same strategy on Sunday.

True, and I've been wrestling with my expectations for this season. But let me ask you this, do you think the team as it stands today is better than it was last year? Because I do, but I'm not sure if that's just my slanted perception or reality. I guess I'll find out soon enough.

I had my son circumcised, but if I had it to do all over again I wouldn't have. My reasoning at the time was flawed and I regret forcing that decision on him. "Because that's the way it's always been done" no longer seems like a valid reason to me. Best of luck deciding.

I really take issue with his floor for this team. 4-12 I feel is ridiculous. If this team goes 4-12 it's an unmitigated disaster. Maybe I'm looking at it with rose colored glasses, but I just don't see a way that this team does that poorly.

I'd consider listening if it were for a first. I doubt anyone would offer that. It's nice to have a position that the Bills are almost too deep at for a change.

Remember when everyone was sure that he was a bust? Now everyone is freaking out because he hasn't signed a deal and only has one season remaining on his current deal. Relax. If I were Dareus I wouldn't sign anything yet either. He's widely considered in the conversation as the best defensive tackle. He's got another season to remove any doubt and then get paid. Anybody thinking he's going to sign for less than Suh did is dreaming. Somebody is going to pay him more. Whether that somebody will be/should be the Bills is a whole different conversation.
