  1. They over-saturated the marketplace at the same time that they were messing with the essence of the core product with rule changes. People are bored with it. Another thought is that they alienated a big chunk of middle America when they left St. Louis for LA. If LA didn't net any NEW viewers and only cannibalized their existing audience while people who actually liked St. Louis turned off the game that would get you your sudden lost viewer base. I haven't seen anyone reporting what ratings are in St. Louis and LA are compared to previous years.
  2. Thursday ruined fantasy football for me. It made something that was fun and basically once a week way too much maintenance and work and not fun. That killed my interest in other teams. I'm tired of the team I want to root for sucking constantly and that is what killed the rest. Sunday afternoon is now naptime after I get home from the rink and before I go back to the rink with my kids.
  3. My only questions are whether Brady will throw for 400 or 500 yards and whether the Pats will keep the margin under 50. Said I like 10 years ago. Brady's playing and the game matters? I learned my lesson.
  4. It's fun to go back in these old games and count up how many penalties would be called today. Hint. It's tons. And the NFL wonders why ratings are down...
  5. Letting go of that control of the defense may be the best thing that ever happened to him if he's able to focus in the big picture better than before. I'd assume he trusts his brother implicitly and if he's tasked Rob with working with Thurman to execute the gameplan on gameday that'd be a smart move. He can actually look at what the offense is doing and, as we saw in previous weeks, help out the offensive staff with adjusting to the opposing defense. That sort of insight can be invaluable and an underrated benefit of having an experienced coordinator as your head coach. Not only do they help the area of expertise but they can advise the other side of the ball as well. Hoody is a defensive coach but his offenses excel at breaking down your defense methodically and often with surgical precision. This ability has transcended multiple coordinators and I'm sure Hoody has a lot to do with it.
  6. The NFLPA doesn't have a choice but to represent the rights of the player just like any other union member, whether they want to or not. If they don't they open themselves up to litigation from Brown.
  7. Honestly it depends, but if you're already looking at 3rd and long just take the penalty (unless you're on the cusp of FG range) Or call a timeout to then line up in an illegal formation.
  8. I tend to not eat apex predators - I find it to be disrespectful. No alligator, no shark, no bear, etc.
  9. 6'5" 245lbs Had injury issues in college and with the 9ers.
  10. Not that I'm saying this happened, but if I'm an NFL team and I'm going to bother having physicals guys are peeing in a cup for me. If I claim a fringe guy on waivers and he's got a hot urine during my physical it seems to me he just failed his physical.
  11. 5-11 Wins: @Baltimore San Francisco @Miami Cleveland Miami Losses: Jets Arizona @New England @Los Angeles New England @Seattle @Cincinnati Jacksonville @Oakland Pittsburgh @Jets
  12. I wouldn't be shocked to see both Kruger and Coples come in if they can be gotten relatively cheaply. Alexander is still a question mark (though he's looked pretty good), Lawson hasn't provided much in the way of pass rush over his entire career and our depth situation at that position is ugly right now. Biermann was underwhelming and beyond that you're looking at an UDFA
  13. Joe Licata is currently a Bengal and I think they'd be a little upset if we tried to sign him today. Now, they might sign him (or someone else who gets cut) on Tuesday if the Bengals release him and Austin Trainor might not even make it to the game on Thursday.
  14. Deaderick had 2 tackles for loss in 17 snaps last night. Also, players with less than 4 years of service time have to be waived/injured until the first cut down day not the second so Gragg and Ragland will go to IR on Tuesday, Dowling will likely be waived/injured. When you're counting remember that Listenbee, Easley, and Lawson are on Active/Reserve lists so they count against the 75. They will count until the 53 cut day when they'll be shifted to PUP and no longer count.
