  1. Because of 2 decades without a franchise quarterback. A win would be cool, but I'd take Allen looking consistently better at the end of the season going 4-12/5-11 over a 9-7 playoff appearance in a minute.
  2. Don't agree with the AFC being weak this year. Small sample size but 8 teams with winning records vs 4 for the NFC. At this early point the WC looks to be some combination of the AFC North and the Chargers IMO.
  3. This. Just go back to 15 minutes. This isn't hockey in the 80s and 90s where the networks hated the low-rated games going overtime - this is the #1 thing on tv with a bullet.
  4. No penalty, you taking notes Clay?
  5. Just move OT back to 15 minutes.
  6. I was convinced Allen was the wrong Josh picked after the draft, but his attitude has been a bright spot this year. I won't pretend his performance was anything other than a turd yesterday, but he seems coachable and willing to keep on working and trying. He'll end up being good - or bad - or average, but it won't be because he was thrown into the fire early this year.
  7. Yes, fire him now! We'll kill two birds with one stone: creating stability for a young QB & making the position more attractive to good candidates!! Limited talent AND a notoriously short leash, who wouldn't sign up for that!
  8. Jerry was there too, are they the only two players left from his 2013 season here?
  9. Ian & Dan are solid. I'm curious to listen to Bruce Arians in the booth, but considering I haven't read a review of him yet I'm guessing he's not Romo-fantastic or Witten-awful.
  10. Even for Gruden, that would be a shark jumper.
  11. Staff is my QB as well, I hope the running game last night was a fluke. His garbage time yardage is an important component of my team.
  12. First time in 23 years a 17 point underdog won. I didn't think they had a chance today, but DAMN THIS CROW IS TASTY! https://www.si.com/nfl/2018/09/23/bills-gambling-upset-vegas-odds-vikings
  13. That's fair. Personally, I don't mind the Bills being the butt of jokes right now because they deserve it and I'm still optimistic for the future (high picks, cap space). The proof will be how they capitalize going forward. But for the time being, the end of the drought has let me relax and enjoy tolerate the ride.
  14. The 17 year drought, not even close. 2 year losing streak gets your Baker Mayfield & Myles Garrett. 17 year drought means you can't even get losing right.
  15. Until his release, that would be it.
  16. Probably #1. The last time the Bills were 16.5 dogs was 2007 vs the Pats (who won by 31). https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-week-3-early-odds-vikings-open-as-monstrous-favorites-over-hapless-bills/
  17. Pleasantly surprised that they kept Romo/Nanz on the game instead of moving them to the LA game. As for the TV contract being negotiated at a lower price, it won't happen anytime soon. I work in media and the NFL audience is not only the biggest, but the hardest to reach demographically. The networks are willing to take a loss based on the halo effect it has to the rest of the schedule. Look at how the Simpsons' ratings crater in the 18-49 demo at the end of the football season (as well as weeks FOX doesn't have the double header). The networks won't just be competing with each other, but the digital heavyweights are licking their chops to enter the bidding for exclusivity. The 2022 renegotiation will be MASSIVE.
  18. This is strange. Did he even know? Hopefully a surprise Bob Woodward book based on the '18 Browns season will drop early next year. This team is fascinating.
  19. Not the worst choice. I wonder though why we get modern(ish) pop acts but rock acts half to be classic.
  20. Thanks OP, good article. The story was pretty balanced, giving both sides the sitting/starting argument a fair shake.
  21. Having a franchise QB is important. Not having a dysfunctional organization is equally or more important. The Oakland & Washington's incompetence over the years have averted eyes from the Chargers' brazen idiocy. From the SD stadium & LA relocation debacle, to the Bosa situation, to firing coaches at the wrong time, Eli (well his agent & father really) look smarter and smarter for refusing to play there.
  22. I get that, but was pointing out how Mayfield & Peterman are completely different players so your analogy doesn't hold water IMO. I do though agree with your main point that there's absolutely no proof that McDermott based the decision on race. He just has Peterman delusion syndrome. He made the same mistake again this year in starting him over Allen.
  23. Be careful what you say on the Internet. Comparing Baker Mayfield to Peterman is slam dunk slander.
