Whatever you classify diggs as. That was a good move. Would also say the Williams UFA contract last year was great. No disagreement on Butler. I was wanting literally anything for him this off-season. Fine with Morse and Klein is a slight overpay, but that happens in the UFA market a lot. Star has been fine this year but that contract is still beanes biggest mistake.

Honestly think he was gassed. I think being gassed from giving everything was why OT went the way it did on both sides of the ball. for Gene and groin, if we can’t expect consistent officiating then you can’t really do much of anything. Disagree with the OP. We need 12 and 21 personnel. Get diggs isolated so they have to either commit to stopping him or the run. I also expect Allen to be a big part of the running game. Fun things I found last night on pro football reference, we have the highest number of play action pass attempts and we are pretty efficient (> 10 YPA). Josh under center with lots of Sweeney and Gilliam makes us our most versatile. defense I think has been mentioned but press coverage probably cover 1 robber to put an extra guy in the box for the run. Also would expect a good bit of cover 3 to again put another player in the box.

The initial hit is fine. And he does hold him up some. But at the end he drives shoulder. Can’t do that. that’s the textbook part.

There was a super bogus holding call on Morse on the play before the one you reference. That went for a first down if not for the phantom hold. The roughing was also pretty text book landing on the QB with your whole weight. That was not a terrible call in our favor at all.

Not in the run game but they use their backs in the pass game. Klein trying to cover either of their RBs scares me.

I would also say there is a big difference at WR. but agree with your points and would add tackling (a McD problem) to the disciplined part.

Are you saying that headlines can derail the season? I agree this is an important game, but most important is getting to the playoffs healthy and playing well. Additionally, if we take care of the business with the Pats (they didnt look too scary last night) we will be fine.

Yes we need help to get the 1 seed but I dont think it would be very shocking if it happens. Probably the most shocking thing is we would need to win out. With that said, I don't know why anyone would root for the Pats to beat the Titans. Winning the division is the priority always.

My concern with Klein is in the passing game. Taylor is fast and Hines is super fast. They have >50 catches combined. Klein could struggle in that way. Would really like Maine back.

Was thinking of a thread like this last night. Some crazy things about this defense. We have more than double the number of int (15) than we do TDs through the air (6); 58% completion percent overall!; I dont think Tre White has given up a TD; Jordan poyer has given up like 20 yards of YAC all season. I am honestly surprised we are allowing an average of more than 200 ypg through the air. I think we are probably not appreciating the play of this defense.

Def a good team. This offseason will be interesting for them. Some of the UFA they need to resign or replace: McCourty (S), Brown (RT), Hightower (MLB), Jackson (CB), White (RB), Folk (K), Collins (OLB). While they aint broke, spotrac only has them with 31 million in cap space with potential savings from Agholor (5 mil), Mason (7 mil), Godchaux (5 mil), Jones (5 mil), Van Noy (5 mil), Bourne (3 mill), Anderson (3 mil). I think theres a pretty decent chance they take a step back as core pieces of that defense might be gone.

If you are suggesting that Cole might not accept that offer, then I agree it’s not 100% that he would sign. Beane has done well at managing the end of contracts, and I do think 5 mill is closer to Beaslys value than 7.6.

With McKenzie and sanders as UFA I think we keep Beasley. Surprised it was only mentioned once in this thread since it’s a beane staple. Give him less money but guaranteed. 5 million sounds great to me. Gives us an option if the board doesn’t give us a WR they like.

Correlation is not necessarily causation. Teams that draft a RB high may feel the need to run them more. Looking at rush attempts you see something similar, but Kamara is in top 5. YPA seems a better metric, and when we remove QBs we get 1. N Chubb 2nd round (6.0) 2. J Taylor 2nd round (5.8) 3. C Edmonds 4th round (5.7) 4 J Robinson UDFA (5.4) 5 T Pollard 4th round (5.4) It continues this way that for every 2nd or 1st round pick there is a later pick. I guess where we might disagree is need for a franchise RB. You want 1 guy to carry the rock 20+ times? I dont want that and it seems we can get plenty of efficiency drafting players later.

Did you mean 11 personnel spread looks (you later list an 11 personnel grouping)? I dont think weve run a lot of 12 especially lately since Knox has been out. Overall I agree with a lot of posters including you. I think we had been trying to figure out how to run from shotgun. This week (I also felt like there was more in the KC game) it felt like we said lets pass from under center. thats pretty dangerous cause zone against the bigger personnel groupings will cause chunk plays in the run game. Man is tough cause we can basically just have Diggs run a route that will beat you.
