No one else in the league offered him a much better deal so it wasn’t just our talent evaluation. I don’t question their talent evaluation cause nobody hits them all and I think they have gotten moves for QB1 and WR1 (as well as others) correct.

Clearly he forget we have a football team if he doesn’t think we have any in the top 16 snubs. Poyer not making is a tragedy and fortunately Poyer was on McAfee recently with his charity (he must’ve known). I’ve given $21 for this ridiculousness and my error in ever using pro bowls in defense of anything (QR code comes up around the 13 minute mark)

Outside of great points about Allen vs other QBs and individual players. There is this fact. no one from the defense that is number 3 in DVOA was selected to the pro bowl. Leslie Frazier better win coordinator of the year if that’s what people think of the talent on the field.

Final thoughts on TE2. I’m happy to upgrade any position. They tried this season but kept Sweeney over hollister. I think $$ plays into it. Sweeney is still on his rookie deal. I think he stays around this year. By definition an average TE2 is not a borderline starter. That would be an above average TE2. If that’s what you want then fine but you’ll probably pay or draft for it. I agree blocking is a problem overall but I would like to spend resources on OL to resolves those problems. If you tell me we find a replacement for Sweeney on day 3 or as UDFA? Cool. If you tell me we sign someone for north of a million AAV then I’m fine with Sweeney.

Sure but those seem like OL problems. Why not go get OL fixed rather than try to pay a TE2? I think Sweeney is growing into an average TE2 and will bounce around for a while.

Plenty of teams only have one TE. Who is KCs TE2? tenn TE2? Ariz TE2? Dal TE2? So many good teams don’t invest there. What are you gonna pay this TE2? I don’t want to pay more than vet minimum and for vet min you’re getting a Sweeney type player. Poyer is playing at an all pro level this year. You better throw some respect on his name.

He seems fine as a receiver. He’s got two drops in his career for a 7-8% rate. Not great not terrible. QB rating throwing to him is like 80 so not our best obviously. No data on his blocking on pro football reference, but I can’t recall anything too terrible (I’m sure he’s had some issues along with the rest of our OL). I wouldn’t expect him to come back after next year for more than vet minimum but I think that says more about where we are as a team than his performance.

I’ll give you swing tackle but what do you expect out of TE2 for a team with as many WR weapons we have.

My fantasy team is rooting for a good Chubb game. But my bills homer is rooting for that not being enough to keep up with LV.

Not mentioned was his misplay on the kickoff against WFT. I think he’s let it hit the ground on punts more than he should too. Happy to see him in the offense more
