Being in Kentucky’s defense has him very ready to play zone coverage which is the tougher one to get down and something Elam never could. I have 4 DTs I would be excited for on day 2, in order: Sanders, Farmer, CJ West, Darius Alexander. Sanders is my preferred player so hopefully the first round run on DTs helps him slide. Where do you have Xavier Watts ranked? He would be one of my preferred 2nd rounders with Scourton, Landon Jackson, and the WRs.

Yea Cosell tries not to be disparaging to players so he won’t usually say a player is bad. But if there is a guy he like he is usually effusive in his praise like he has been with Hairston. He was that way with James Cook in 2022 too.

Yes I don’t like Emmanwori in our defense and Collins doesn’t have the profile I look for and now his injury sounds more serious than what was expected.

Yea Cosell raved about him prior to the draft too. In 2023 he was a much bigger playmaker, in 2024 he was more sound in his coverage but got hurt. This won’t be an Elam pick where you are trying to teach a man corner how to play zone. The Kentucky and Bills defense has a lot of similarities so Hairston should play right away. My only concern for Hairston is his size. That he had a shoulder injury this year and is only 183 pounds will always have me worried but predicting injuries is a fools errand. Of what was left this was a very good pick.

To be fair to Hairston, that is partly a function of the Kentucky defense. They had him giving up underneath routes all the time, but he doesn’t get beat over the top.

Tremaine was a pre draft visitor that we did not hear about until post draft so there is precedent of an unknown visit becoming a first round draft pick. I’m pretty sure Azarey’h Thomas would have been one of the 7 unknowns. Grant may have been too. I hope he is long gone personally.
