  1. Javon Soloman
  2. I expect him to be on the practice squad here
  3. Deone Walker mentor
  4. It was punt block team at SDSU, he had like 3 punt block return touchdowns or something like that.
  5. A pretty good chance that Obi is just cut week 6 for cap savings imo. Spending too much on mid DL players in free agency, drafting too many running backs in the first 4 rounds, and not drafting WRs are my three biggest gripes with Beane. That was a small part of the reason I was pumped we signed Cook. That means Beane won’t use an early pick on running back for a couple years. Im not sure we can break the other two habits lol
  6. Yea we should be pretty excited about the DL long term I think. Sanders is ready right now to contribute. Walker will probably be in on pass rush situations more. Landon Jackson is going to take some time and may be a healthy scratch for a bit. He was this way in college too. Once he is comfortable in the defense and just starts playing rather than thinking, I think you will see him turn into a good player. But that may not be until year 2 or 3.
  7. I still will be surprised if the Bills keep 6 WRs. The best thing Shavers did last night, despite the circus touchdown, was playing well on special teams. Making the tackle on the return that Shenault lost contain on probably solidified him over Shenault. It is Shavers vs Moore. I do have some hope for his ability against higher competition, he is so big that he drew two penalties last night. How he sat down in the empty zone on the sideline for the first down was great. His hands are inconsistent though, and may keep him on a short leash to offensive snaps. most people were impressed with Walker and asked where Sanders was. You nailed it that Walker is Jordan Phillips reincarnated. A boy that can penetrate and make splash plays. But Sanders did the grunt work taking on double teams yesterday, not getting fooled on the screen pass that Deon did. Sanders was off the field before Walker was because Walker made some bad plays too. He seems to like to spin when in run defense leaving vacated gaps, and he did get pushed around. I am very excited about the two DTs, but I think Sanders had a more consistent night last night. Chase Lundt and Jackson Hawes were great. Hawes has made the roster, Lundt I think has too. RVD I think would be traded if Grable hadn’t missed so much preseason with his concussion. But since he has, I think Lundt and RVD make it as backup tackles along with Grable and we keep 10 at OL. Carter and Soloman are the two biggest question marks to me. Neither has earned a roster spot. But with Hoecht out, Soloman may make it as depth (and cut week 6). Carter if he makes it is only to give him one more year to develop since he was a 3rd round pick. Once Ogunjobi returns (if he is not cut for cap space), the Bills would probably have to cut either Carter or DQ. What they do with those two probably decides whether we keep 5 or 6 WRs. Despite the buzz for Ciarlo, I think they only keep 5 LBs and Ciarlo goes to the PS. I think they would like to keep 6 on the roster but their just isn’t really a 6th guy worth keeping. Finally, props to Tez Johnson. I had to lookup the Bucs depth chart to see if there was anyway the numbers game would leave him as a cut. It looks like he will be safe. He played just like he did at Oregon and I am sad he isn’t a Bill knocking Coddrington off the roster as a returner
  8. If they cut Tez Johnson, cut Coddrington and sign him
  9. He got cut last year by the Seahawks after fumbling kickoffs twice too.
  10. I don’t think Moore has played and teams either. Trade Moore to the Vikings 🤞
  11. Way to go Shavers
  12. yea I see him being the guy getting doubled most of Walkers plays. Like those two rushing together.
  13. Tez Johnson making plays on special teams and WR for the Bucs. Not sure he makes their team but he has always been a fun player to watch play football.
  14. People complain because aside from Coleman, they don’t even try to draft WRs in the first two days of the draft where most good WRs come from. Maybe you don’t wind up with an all star player, but maybe you wind up with a good player on a cost controlled contract and so don’t have to desperately sign Curtis Samuel and Josh Palmer to contracts they are not worth. WR is the second most expensive position besides QB. So if you want to keep the room cheap but have a talented room, you need to draft players. Look at the Chiefs over the last 4 years they have drafted 3 WRs in the first two rounds. Yea one busted, but two seem pretty good and keep that position room cheap for them so they can pay other, better players.
  15. Yea Jackson I’m not worried about. He took a bit of time to get better at college. Just a guy that needs time in the system. By year 3 I think we will like the results. Im not the biggest Bishop fan, but the buzz around this reminds me a ton of the buzz around the MLB position before Bernard stepped in as starter. Bernard had a bad year 1, there was some comments from McDermott that had people concerned, then Bernard took over week 1 and showed he was good. I don’t Bishop will be that level of player, but I think he will be a fine starter
  16. If the Saints cut Mason Tipton, I hope the Bills add him.
  17. Is wide right in its butt and that’s why we don’t see it?
  18. Doubt he makes it past cut downs or ends up on the PS. He wasn’t an NFL level corner from the games I watched pre-draft. Kind of a bigger name prospect than what his talent was.
  19. Which is why I started off with “not sure I see it” silly Chiefs fan. But if anyone saves the Bills some money and may be seen by some teams as a cheap replacement for an injured WR in a trade - as the Buscaglia article was referencing - it would be Moore vs any other WR on the Bills imo.
  20. Nastalgia is strong for Mack. Gabe had more yards receiving in the Chief playoff game than Mack Hollins had in 3 of his 9 seasons. If Gabe had 50 more yards in that game it would be more than 7 of Mack’s 9 seasons lol
  21. not sure I see it but would probably exclusively be Elijah Moore. Trading him saves you 1.75 mil. Coleman, Palmer and Shakir won’t be traded. Shavers and the other PS guys all cost the same traded or cut. Maybe they get an asset for Shavers in a trade, but it really won’t help the cap. Curtis Samuel would be the holy grail with 7.34 mil in savings if traded. I would be stunned if other teams wanted to trade for the guy with his injuries.
  22. Don’t hate it. He sucked when Josh was trying to force feed him targets but in this Joe Brady offense he can fill that blocking WR role. As a WR4 or 5 he would be a nice addition and most importantly would be dirt cheap. Goes to show the sad state of our WR room as much as that notion gets shouted down sometimes.
  23. Yes not looking like the best so far. Grable and SVPG may turn out alright but injuries are preventing us seeing it. Davis is a backup running back and not sure Soloman, Ulofoshio or Hardy make the team this year 😕
  24. There were so many layers to this game. First, the amount of players that were draft picks by the Bills at any point was incredibly small. Especially compared to who the Bears played. I can’t really say a past UDFA or an inexpensive free agent did poorly in this game. So Mike White, Andreesen, Davidson, Elijah Moore just kinda played how you would expect. Unfortunately, the former draft picks that did play just weren’t good. Bishop I have never been very excited for him but I will hold out hope that he can develop with more reps. LJ is just lost out there but I think he did a bit better than last week, Dwayne Carter is just a guy, Javon Soloman unfortunately I don’t think makes the roster he was so unimpressive in this game getting stymied over and over. Ulofoshio we know won’t be making this team. Dequan Hardy I think may be playing injured. Strong was mostly just out there, Hancock was streaky but may play Safety for us this year. Walker and Sanders didn’t do much though Sanders didn’t play much that I saw, and I thought Lundt showed some good movement and fight. In the end what I took away from last night was that was about as discombobulated of an effort as I had ever seen from this regime. The talent gap certainly was there, but it seemed like the players were just lost out there. Second, our safeties are going to be a problem all year and I think we may see a first round pick there next year. Third, if I was Beane, I would sit on my hands in free agency the next few years. As tempting as it is to fill holes there, there are way more misses than hits in his past. It was another uninspiring Hoecht performance from what I noticed of him. I would try to trade down in the draft and stuff the back end of the roster with draft picks as much as possible. When you miss in those picks, they are not as costly. Finally, it may be time to spend a draft pick on a QB. Not a Jake Fromm type, but someone with a good arm who can move well and hope you can develop him behind Josh. The rotating noodle arms behind Josh are relatively expensive and have no upside. It’s been described as a strong QB draft upcoming, so maybe a 4th rounder or so could be used there.
