I think it's either Darius Leonard or Dorian O'Daniel. Heck, maybe even both. I still really like Oren Burks, but the team doesn't seem to have any tangible connections to him so far.
The only guy I don't see you taking is Rosen. My guess at your board is Darnold, Allen, Mayfield in that order, and I think their relative comfort with all 3 is the reason they were willing to move up early.
They need to win some games, and Tyrod will help them do that. If the rook they end up with provides similar benefits he'll get the play. The Tyrod trade & Stanton signings are why I still believe they're going Darnold or Allen. They don't want their rookie to take the field unless it's on their terms. jmo.
At the risk of arousing Mead, if that's how it plays out then Riley Ferguson with pick 96. I'd also be fine with Rudolph at pick 22. Not nearly as happy as if we moved up for Rosen or Darnold, but content.
No, it wouldn't be surprising at all depending on the circumstances. Beane & Co have their eyes set on specific guys. If those guys aren't available then the Bills won't be paying any sort of extreme premiums.
No. The draft is where you see teams select the future core of their rosters and where you see college players continue their career.
The underwear olympics is definitely more over-hyped and overrated and the schedule release is a complete joke.
If I understand correctly there is 1 player Beane is willing to sell the farm for. He's not going to sell the farm for a chance, but he's happy to pay the price if the player is there. There's another he's willing to sell the back quarter for if the first doesn't pan out.
That is not my concern whatsoever with Jackson. My concern is that his instinct is to tuck and run because he's used to being the best athlete on the field by a wide margin. That is a habit that very rarely leads to success in the NFL.
It's also a habit that is very difficult to break.
Honestly, it doesn't matter. If his habit is to run when things break down it is a bad habit at the next level.
His coaches are trying to get him drafted higher? Color me surprised. Across all of his college years he never ran the ball on fewer than 35% of his total attempts. That's a running QB.
