1/21/24 Division Playoff GAMEDAY Bills vs Chiefs Pregame Thread
JTown replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
I couldn't make it to the game today due to nurturing my best friend back to health. I will be in Baltimore next week but I would kindly ask Bills Mafia to have one less beer pregame and stay loud for the entire four quarters. The impact of the 12th man can be critical. Go Bills -
The more I read , the more I dislike this forum. Stay classy Bills Mafia

So he will be hosting SNL by March?

Sounds like you are accepting of McClappys mismanagement over the few years. IMO, the players don't seem to have faith in him. Obviously the results have been worse every year since the 13 second meltdown. Yes, they have a chance to change that this year, however they clearly have a chance to miss the playoffs all together and continue their decline. I don't have a good feeling that this team can make a strong run against any team in the playoffs given the way they played (offensively, ST) against the Patriots at home last week. The offense and Josh specifically were bad. The defense was great and hopefully they will continue against Miami and into the Playoffs to give the team a chance. There is nothing "negative" about the reality of the way the games have, without question, been mismanaged or the way the offense has been uncharacteristically flat in many games this season. But go ahead and add me to your "negative contingent" if you feel confident this team will be hoisting the Lombardi🏆 this year. Sure I would love that as well, however, for the reasons I have listed I am not confident. Go Bills!

*TNF * New York Jets @ Cleveland Browns - 8:15 Prime Video
JTown replied to DaBillsFanSince1973's topic in The Stadium Wall
How crazy is it that the Jests didn't work out Flacco after week one? However, I'd prefer not to have to play Cleveland in the playoffs. -
Josh is my Qb. But he has to stop with the turnovers. Honestly they would likely be undefeated this season if he took what the defense gave him and made better decisions. While I'm sure that a few of his INTs where not all his fault, the majority were. I think CMC or Hill will get it this year as they can't gift it to Ratboy or Aaron Rodgers. The media votes and even if Josh had 0 INTs and 50 TDs he would still be snubbed as it is the same media that all said JA17 was inaccurate, A turn over machine, Yada, Yada, yada, when he was drafted. None of them will ever admit they are wrong or bad at their profession.

Let's see how Tua Tugmylabia responds. I have a feeling he is going under pressure.

The Vibe of this Team feels different… to me at least
JTown replied to loveorhatembillsfan4life's topic in The Stadium Wall
That would be very Billsy. Seriously, I think they will get into the Playoffs. However, I'm still trying to digest the inexplicable losses to the Jets, Patriots, Broncos and Jags. (Let's no forget that they also tried to lose to the Giants however, the officials gifted them a W). I can live with the losses to the Eagles and Bengals but they could have easily won both of those games. It has become painfully obvious to me that they have long been expecting too much of Josh. I still do not trust McClappy particularly late in a close game, but I will say that he has better since he was put on blast. His D against Dallas was as good as it gets. It would be great to win the Division in the last game against the Dolphins and get a home playoff game. Bottom line is this team should not be in this position. As much as it pains me to say, Josh has his share of the blame in turnovers. McDermott certainly has a lot as well with his awful late game management, stupid timeouts, challenges, etc. And of course Dorsey did this team no favors by forcing Josh into having to play Superman every week. Hopefully, we won't have any more Billsy games. Imagine just how scary this team would be going into the Playoffs coming off a big win against Miami to take the Division. Bad things Man, bad things. -

McDermott's Two Minute Defense This Year vs Past Seasons
JTown replied to Scott7975's topic in The Stadium Wall
The only thing that I got wrong was that the Dallas D would pressure Josh. In fact, they did, Parsons forces Josh to dirt the ball, and throw it away several times. He played a smart game and handed the ball off. When was the last time Josh threw the ball 11 times in a game? I will help you. NEVER! I also said that the weather would favor the Bills. It did. I guess you knew that the Bills were going to run the ball and stay committed to the run the entire game. Which they have never done in the Allen era. Great offensive and defensive game plan by the Bills. If you try to tell me that there was no chance Dallas could have dominated that game you are a fool. I guess that I am the only Bills fan that didn't have a good feeling about that game. -

I don't feel good about this game. I'm a Bills fanatic since 72. STH when I lived there, so of course I am hoping for a win. Losing AJE is going to be a huge loss. If the D cannot pressure Dak, it will be ugly. I think the weather may play in our favor of we don't turn the ball over. The Dallas D will absolutely pressure Josh. Book it. I hope Dallas doesn't establish the run game early as I think that would lead to a blow out. Go Bills. I ref to Dallas not winning on the road, didn't they just go to Philly and beat them by two scores? -
NFL Week #15 - Cowboys at Bills pregame Thread
JTown replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I simply asked what the weather was like. I no longer live in WNY. The responses never mentioned any advantages either way just what was forecast. Get over yourself. And you don't think a wet ball will impact a football game for either team? Ok. Right. -

What's the weather going to be like for the game? -
I vehemently disagree. Dallas defense will pressure Josh a hell of a lot more than KC did. Even more worrisome is I don't think that our secondary will have much success against Dallas WR. I hope that I am wrong on both counts. Go Bills

Did "The McDermott Problem" Backfire? Or Work to Perfection.
JTown replied to theRalph's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm not a McClappy supporter. He seemed quite narcissistic until after that article was released. He now appears to have changed his demeanor in interviews and press conferences. I have no doubt that he can be a great coach if he refrained from micro managing ever aspect of the team. -

I retired from the US Army after 26+ years of service. I did 3 tours in Afghanistan, 3 tours in Iraq, 9 months in Somalia, 9 months in Haiti, two tours in Korea and worked as an defense attache at the US Embassy in Chad. While I am no a fan of McClappy, I see nothing wrong with what he was attempting to do when using 9/11 terrorists as a teaching point of leadership and communication. I have no idea what McClappy said exactly or how it was perceived by his audience. I will tell you that many military leaders, myself included, have used the events of 9/11 as a teaching point. That doesn't mean that any of them support terrorists or terrorism. All military leaders use events such as 9/11, October 3, 1993, and battles throughout history as examples. I find it amazing that people are offended talking about history. Again, I don't know the context or what was said my McDermott. But I know McDermott does not support terrorism. That assumption is asinine. Bad people have used remarkable leadership, coordination and communication for bad intent. That doesn't mean that people who acknowledge said leadership support that bad intent. There is no winner in war. As for Von Miller, I guess that you have already convicted him of his alleged crimes so I will refrain from commenting. -

I don't believe that McClappy is a bad person. However, I no longer believe in "his process and truly believe that he is a narcissistic and has refused to change his frequently flawed game management and defensive strategies. None of that makes him a bad person, just a bad HC and defensive coordinator. Did anyone else notice him smiling on several occasions during last night's broadcast? I was caught off guard as I have NEVER noticed him smiling during his half-time interview. He is always very stoic I it seemed weird to me that since he was personally called out, he was going out of his way to portray a pleasant smiling persona. Even when the Bills have blown out opponents, I have never seen McClappy portray a happy demeanor during a game or even in a press conference. Did anyone else notice this behavior? -
I agree with all the positive points. Unfortunately, there is an equal or longer list of negatives. I won't take the time to list them all as you can take a look at any thread over the last two months. The obvious one is the HC. I'm not overly optimistic that his bone headed game will not cost us 1 or more of the remaining 5 games.

I would like to see less officials on the field and more officials in the booth. Typically, during a game the broadcast crew has reviewed the play before the ball is even spotted.

Are you willing to wager money on your prediction? I have a very expensive hobby and could use about 8k for a new transmission. Dead serious. -
McDermott's Two Minute Defense This Year vs Past Seasons
JTown replied to Scott7975's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes he played a role in this season but I would argue that McClappy has cost us three consecutive seasons. Firing Dorsey was just another CYA move by McClappy akin to putting lipstick on a pig. The issues this year are his defensive strategies at the end of games. Unfortunately, I believe the late game defensive woes will absolutely continue as they head into the hardest remaining stretch in the league. Go Bills!
