Why wouldn’t teams go CB/CB in the draft.. first and second rounds. If you have one ONLY, Benford, why not? Best case is they both start in nickel. The best of the duo plays outside corner, other guy nickel with TJ7. The competition pushes them to their max potential. Win-win-win. Worst case should be that you’ve got your CB2 no doubt and the other guy is Elam.

Allen vs Mahomes, is this a controversial take?
Thrivefourfive replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Bills always make it look hard. Big plays, a lot of times they’re broken plays and Allen scrambles to throw or scrambles to run (someone over). What I’d love to see is the Bills get more creative in the element of short yardage passing designs tobe called in RB running play situations. Know what I mean? The screen game to anyone but Shakir is weak to the point of completely counterproductive. We know they used to be good at tight end play designs.. where those been?? Have the play callers.. Dorsey and Brady.. been to Josh dependent on what they are signaling in and not working hard to be innovative and expansive? Imagine if Josh had an experienced master play designer and game day caller. How about a defensive coordinator that knew how to screw up an opposing QB’s afternoon in the playoffs.. Because bottom line is he has not had any of that so far. -
Was watching/listening to a podcast on the YouTube where a guy that was totally committed to his take that the Bills and the Chiefs are at exactly the same spot as last year, all things considered. Basically, nothing’s changed. Until they beat them in the playoffs it does not matter… ….if we brought in Garrett AND Parsons. It would only matter AFTER they beat the Chiefs in the playoffs. Ya wanna know what I’m really disgusted by… is that bad thought creeping’ into my head that this is all a dream and McDermott and ALL the Bills coaches, and front office staff, and almost the whole roster is just simply average. Middle of the pack. And that it’s Josh Allen who is the whole f’ing show. Like for reals. That frightens me to hell.

Good quality free content... The Ringer website
Thrivefourfive replied to Sierra Foothills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not exactly free. I spent a few minutes on those elementary generic takes on the Bills offense and defense! But sure, I agree. Not as good as the old Simmons site, but yuppie enough to look sophisticated and nuanced. -
Good good player that was completely unnecessary it seems. Allen wins MVP the year he leaves. Strange. One could say Diggs helped Allen mature into an MVP. But I’ll say he stunted his growth. Ha!

If you are cutting Hamlin, do it now...
Thrivefourfive replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
For sure. This thread is about him being cut. I’m not saying they need him to start. They need his warm (🙏) body. But I love how the image of the vid is portraying a Cole Bishop that’s been on par with Coleman’s promising camp and Benford’s excellency. That’s interesting. Cause Bishop is a HUGE ? mark -
Harrison Phillips traded to the Jests

What’s the plenty for playing over the cap? I’m sure the bank account doesn’t default on a check that’s $1 more than the cap number, right?.. Let’s test this thing and just start paying guys as much as we can, and see where it goes with the NFL. Championship! -

I know this.. McDermott needs Hamlin right now (has he been cut..? haven’t checked today 😂). He’s going to start the season with Rapp as his most experienced safety. We know Coach likes his guys to be well versed. Hamlin is probably the Safety2 of the entire group, with Rapp being S1. What a mess. No talent + no experience. Not good on that front OBD -

Thrivefourfive replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
Good point. I don’t know. Just my thinking, but did they get him for the least amount of money possible? That’s probably why. Did they know no one is touching him, or that he agreed to not sign elsewhere, and came back for a prearranged deal that was as team friendly as possible? I mean, Hamlin’s perspective must be- They saved my life.. I’ll do what it takes to stay on. -

It’s not my argument. If Hamlin can’t play, then why else would he keep a roster spot? -

He’s not getting cut. Those guys watched him die on the field. Is what it is -

Well, that’s okay if He says it. He knows more than we could possibly imagine. It will all be revealed to us when the time is right. -

Cook wants to bring a Super Bowl back to Buffalo. Does this guy know anything about anything besides running fast -
Thanks for this! I’m trying to educate myself on pre 1988 Bills history. Didn’t realize Ferguson was The Man for So Long. Stats back then were crazy, but man, four TD passes total in the 73 Simpson season as a rookie QB with an 9-5 record. Leads the league in pass attempts in ‘77, 12 tds 24 ints. Wild. Always heard that Knox was special to franchise. YouTube is a gold mine for me right now 🙌

2nd Window for Superbowl Taking Shape
Thrivefourfive replied to PoundingDog's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just fanboyin’, but I think this stuff matters. I threw footballs in HS, so always take notice of stuff like this. During Peyton Manning’s HUGE season with the Colts his ball was so much tighter than the previous years. He was never a “pretty ball” thrower. Allen’s got that tight compact motion going, and a pretty nose up / nose down accurate piss missile coming out his hand this camp. Much like the 2020 season. -

You wanna hear the news.. Allen might be the closer of this second window. Sorry,, but a few of us thought that with his playing style… 10 years.. I’ll say no more. He’s become a helluva passer so his game is already evolved. Man I love the tight spirals he’s ripping on Hard Knocks. Go Bills!!! -
Beane on McAfee yesterday (8/13)
Thrivefourfive replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
That got me too. Hard Knocks is notorious for zeroing in on those cut moments. Bring your play book. I love how the Bills seem to have some nonnegotiables with the show. Look at Big Baller Bills calling the shots on HBO 🙌 -
What happened to Tre White at safety?! 😂 Haven’t heard that one in a years!
-
Let’s get Beane for this! Can’t let him rest of his Jimbo laurels. Not only was he targeting a position (should always be BPA! Right?), but he didn’t even go Best WR Available. He was in the weeds with body type. Ladd streaking across a deep safety on a skinny post is miles better than some jump balls that are half out of bounds. Take that Beane! (:bows down and begs for forgiveness:)

What a mess! Ralph was somehow a half century behind the times. Buddy didn’t want the job, didn’t know what to do for the job, and the accent was almost unreal. Russ Brandon gets promoted 🤣🤣🤣

Cook signed👀 - 4 / 48 / 30 mil guaranteed
Thrivefourfive replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
We all see that “playing out his deal” was never going to happen. Cook’s team played this so well. Doesn’t seem like any bad blood drama at all. The Bills nailed it too.. We cannot spare this man. He runs! Keon Coleman has to be looking at this and realizing that if he carves out his role that’s essential to team success, he’ll get his too. These two dudes know they aren’t going be the greatest of all time at their positions. So Winning is their path to being paid for their services. -

He’s Big Game Bass now. That 61 yarder vs Miami. Boy did he, and we, need that one! -
Same. Was partying all over Long Beach, CSLB that weekend, and never thought for a second UCLA would lose that game. Sunday Morning Coming Down sums it up pretty good.

Are we talking T.eam O.bliterator..? There was just nothing left for him to obliterate in Buffalo. He was desperate for a check, and pretty toxic in an organization. San Francisco, Philadelphia, and Dallas saw him off, despite the god talent. The media covered him via chopper while he worked out in his driveway DURING THE SEASON 🤣 as he was kept away from the building in Philly (I have that right?). But hey, I’ll play.. he was.. “news” for a dump of a team, desperate for relevancy. Truth be told, my positivity vibes at the time were embarrassingly empty.. I saw his coming to Buffalo as a weak ploy and I was actually kind of saddened for the guy AND the Bills because his career was fading fast compared to the monster seasons he had previously. Just another dead end on both ends of the spectrum. So I hated it. Knew HE wasn’t the answer to turn that thing around. We all knew it was only a QUARTERBACK that could lift the Bills out of the ashes. These types of moves just pissed me off at the time because I knew it go nowhere. Was this place renamed iTWOBILLSDRIVE during his stay 🤣🤣🤣 But glad to hear that he enjoyed his time here. That’s nice. Old losing feelings die hard for me, I guess.
