100% agree but the other poster said “nobody else for Cam Ward to throw to.” There’s plenty of talent there, it’s just not elite. The offensive line is imperative for nearly all QBs to have success, let alone a rookie. The additions of Dan Moore and Kev Zeitler will definitley help/improve that unit. Don’t think it’ll be quite the atrocity it was last year. Good point about the defense. They were a pretty quality for no household names on there, clearly let down by the other side of the team specifically the QBs. Levis and Rudolph were pitiful. The stats can even back that up. As long as Ward can remain some composure and not display what the other two did; forceful, rushed and unnecessary decisions, then I can see that team being a complete difference from last few years. They have a brutal schedule for a team who claimed the #1 pick. Those division games are going to be essential to win. Rams/9ers/Broncos/Chiefs/Chargers/Seahawks will be tough outs. They then have the Cardinals and Pats, don’t think they’ll be rollovers either. Good litmus test for Ward if he plays.

They brought in Tyler Lockett, maybe he has something left? Van Jefferson did have one season in his career where he produced, maybe he can repeat? Okonkwo is a reasonable TE for a rookie to have. They then have Tyjee Spears and Pollard out the backfield, both reasonable receivers. Add the rookies they drafted in Elic Ayomanor and D I K E from the Gators, managed to acquire Restrepo in the UFA class who many wanted the Bills to draft… Not entirely awful. Not entirely great either. We’ll see what Ward is truly all about.

Talk is the 9ers or Giants. Both could use him I guess. Would bet the vet minimum, yes.

Bills sign WR Kelly Akharaiyi, resign UFL WR Deon Cain

Not sure. But they make something like $20k a week when on the PS… can’t be that much different. -
Bills First Rnd pick in 2025 draft: Maxwell Hairston - CB - Kentucky
Sojourner replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ben Morrison is apparently looking the part in Tampa. Same with Amos in Washington. Those were the 2 guys I was hoping they’d go after if they missed out of Barron, which was obviously likely. Not disappointed with the Hairston selection by any means, I just feel his combine was what drove him that far up the draft boards (second to late first rounder) and not his college tape. I guess the saving grace is he was the part for Kentucky when playing in zone. Something we know McD hangs his hat on. -
What's the first position the Bills draft in 2026?

Thats a long and lonely train ride for a first pick in the next draft class. Safe travels on that my friend! -
Training Camp 7/28 - Full pads starting today.

So far it looks like the guys we are reliant on the number one/starter positions are doing well for themselves. Nice to see. How did Palmer do today? -
Someone was advocating us to trade a second or third rounder for him not long ago… Might be best if he gets a shot elsewhere.

Yes. I get that. I’m talking down the road; his fina contract year 2027. He’ll be 32 next year and 34 when his current contract expires, not saying he doesn’t have the chops to last that long just a thought. Theres been severs tackles who successfully slid inside over the course of history, no reason he can’t unless you want to continue paying him top 5 in base salary and cap hit. Food for thought down the road. Yeah, that’s where I was at. Not draft and get rid/move Dawkins. Trevor Penning made the move this year inside, plenty of other guys throughout the years. Even our our Mike Williams moved to guard in the past. -

For you likely candidates, it depends on a few things: Keon Coleman for the WR and the DE rotation opposite Groot. If they get quality production out of the guys behind Bosa on that. I think they’ll go back to those guys and possibly bring Bosa or another vet back for insurance. My thoughts are either Safety or RB for the most likely if I’m honest. That safety group is still up in the air even with Rapp, who I like but can definitely be upgraded. Outside of Hamlin we don’t know who or what we will get between Bishop/Forrest. Cook is all down to money. Don’t think we throw the franchise tag on him for 2026 if an extension or a new deal works out, which given the reported expectations and demands from his side, I think he’s a goner unless he comes down in price. Obviously if he doesn’t we’ll be in the market. The dark horse for me is LB and OT. That group of LBers isn’t as bad without Milano. There’s a lot of guys who can play but just have some inconsistencies. But what’s the biggest inconsistency? Being unavailable. Shaq Thompson is the Milano insurance if Dorian/Spector don’t fill that void. That leaves Buffalo Joe and Ulofoshio (who knows what’s going on there). I always wonder if they go LT and slide Dawkins inside, back to where he was wrongfully projected to only ever be of NFL caliber; inside. -
Brilliant! Touché!

Any word on Landon Jackson? All I can find was the injury precaution and the fact he “looks huge/like he’s wearing pads”

ESPN acquiring the NFL Network and the NFL Redzone
Sojourner replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
Pretty spot on. They’ve got him anywhere and everywhere, which I get. He has a magnetic and engaging personality to the younger crowd. The fact they had him presenting the MLB Home Run derby was weird though, a little too much Pat imo. -
I agree but there is some cause for concern. Whilst you expect some bumps, I did some looking around after getting an answer in the threads and the consensus isn’t that great so far from what’s been seen from the kid. He’s competing against not exactly elite players for that CB2 role. Might be the majority of people are thinking this turns into an Elam repeat from recent years but you’d like to see more. Bigger picture though, I’m with you. I hope Hairston turns out fine.

Some dudes just can’t control themselves. Similar to that Uruguayan soccer player Luis Suarez who had a run of biting opposing players when he was frustrated. -
The ankle injury is that bad?

Do you still watch the NFL Hall of Fame inductions?
Sojourner replied to BillsPride12's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well that’s the point of that game… it is indeed to watch the paint dry. -
So what’s the tentative verdict so far on the CB spot opposite Benford? thanks
-
Marshawn Lynch. Might not have been entirely here his growing up but the man he is off the field during the later years and today is certainly worth commending and applauding. Bonus, Buffalo staff member: Aaron Kromer. First stint here I remember some absolute madness he got himself into with a young boy. SMH.

Where does Khalil Shakir rank in terms of NFL WRs?
Sojourner replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hard to argue there.
