  1. felt that way but the defense did force the chiefs to punt on their possession prior to the missed Fg. Chiefs had a 5 play 8 yard drive.
  2. Because if you can’t get the TD the point is moot anyway. Just get the TD. If we are looking for legitimate criticism I would maybe look at the decision to kick a Fg for the tie with 1:50 left. Not that I even think it was a bad decision to go for the Fg there though. 4th and 9 is a tough spot to be in as a coach. if I am to criticize Allen it’s not for the 2nd 9 throw but for the 3rd and 9 throw. On 3rd down he needs to make sure he gained any kind of positive yards. Even a 3 yard pick up probably has us going for it on 4th 6 which would be a wet dream for all the folks that want to milk the clock as much as possible.
  3. I get everyone wants to bleed the clock down as much as possible but number priority had to be to score a TD. again, scenario is totally different if a TD only puts you up 3. In that scenario then bleeding the clock is more important than scoring.
  4. It may have been a huge blunder if the Chiefs got points off of it. But they didn’t. Not only that, but the Bills defense denied the Chiefs on two straight possessions after that botched fake punt. McD probably got lucky but at any rate, that botched play had no real outcome on the game. It may have been a huge blunder if the Chiefs got points off of it. But they didn’t. 5. okay, so what time are you comfortable with? 1:40? 1:30? 1:20? 1:10? What’s the magic number? Eventually you have to score. In a perfect world you score with 1 second. Also in a perfect world Bills are up 4 TD’s and it’s all irrelevant. You can’t play the game based on perfect scenarios occurring.
  6. I would say it’s a crapshoot. I’m not a believer of “training” yourself out of random injuries that occur.
  7. Get the TD when you can period. Go up 4. Stop being afraid. If you are only up three then you can be afraid.
  8. My two cents: 1. Bills have yet to put together the regular season they are capable of. They need to stop screwing around and get the 1 seed one of these years. these last two seasons the one seed would have meant a home match up against the Jaguars or or Texans. Nothing is guaranteed but I sure as heck like our odds of advancing to at least the conference title game against either of those two teams . 2. Josh Allen is still a baller. In many ways this year he was confusingly bad and predictably extraordinary. And even with the bad that popped up more times than normal the Bills still finished as the 2 seed in the conference. I find it funny when talking heads say the Bills have “missed their window”. I’m like, is Josh Allen leaving? For all the talk of JA’s turnover’s he just had another 7 TD 0 turnover postseason. Josh Allen is fine. 3. The future: Shakir and Kincaid look like good building blocks. The o-line was good enough and proved they could be healthy. All should be back unless Morse retires. Cook is a talent and we will just have to learn to live with his below average hands. Bye, bye Davis. Bernard and Milano next season healthy for a full year. 👀
  9. I hope you are right .
  10. He’s a UFA so we can kiss his ass good-bye. . https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/ty-johnson-29234/
  11. just get a TD and stop being afraid of the other team is my point. If the opportunity presents itself for a wide open TD you take. Again, 3 point lead vs. 4 point lead is a huge difference in strategy.
  12. This loss was in no way on McD. The team shows up to play on both sides of the ball. Receivers missed big time completions; Diggs and Sheffield. And the defense was a mash unit / old as hell in the back 7. By far his best coaching job in any of our playoff exits to date. Probably even better than in a couple of our playoff wins too.
  13. I have to say of all the Bills postseason exists, this one feels the least on McDermott. The team was ready to play unlike against KC in the AFC Champsionship and last year against the Bengals. And i don’t recall a major coaching blunder like in the Chiefs divisional game from two years ago. If anything, McDemott gets a pass because he was down to third string linebackers and missing a starting corner and playint safeties clearly on their last legs. Then on offense Diggs counties his disappearing act. Two beautifully placed deep balls to Sheffield and Diggs and we can’t even get one of them to haul in the catch.
  14. Correct no FG’s which is why the ball was thrown to a wide open receiver in the end zone.
  15. just get the TD. being up 4 is vastly different than up 3. as many others have said so many other things could happen between picking up the first down and trying to milk the clock and score . if the TD only puts up 3 I get the thought process of milking the clock and being conservative late in the game . But if you can get a 4 point lead with less than 2 to go you take it.
  16. Play conservative and then go all out for a TD? not likely.
  17. I have to say I am quite pleased with Shakir and Kincaid. Shakir is a not a #1 but he has potential to be a Beasley type slot wr. Actually, his ceiling is probably higher than Beasley. Shakir is much better after the catch and with the ball in his hands. Beasley maybe separated better. Kincaid, the question is can he become a top 3 Te, and right now that is a possibility which is at least nice to at least have on the table. The o-line was good enough this year which I think is promising in that it will enable us to hopefully use a first round pick on a wr.
  18. Going up 4 vs. 3 is an entirely different scenario. If I have no problem with taking a shot to a WIDE OPEN receiver in the end zone in this situation. Especially on 2nd down. people arguing the check down to Diggs are really arguing they want to milk the clock and settle for overtime. That’s the mentality. Milk the clock, play conservative and kick a 28 yard Fg after going ultra conservative in the red zone after picking up the first down to Diggs. so play for overtime. A loser mentality.
  19. Especially when it is followed up with: "Here comes the Raven's defense. First team ever to finish the season #1 in ppg allowed, #1 in sacks and #1 in take aways".
  20. 4th quarter and down. Now we will get to see Stroud throw it downfield and not check down on 2nd and 3rd and longs I would think.
  21. Take the Texans and the points. Which was terrible timing for them to basically have three full weeks off while playing as well as they were.
  22. A lot of it depends on what the defenses do after the turnover and where the turnovers occur. Seems this year we have had some "bad luck" with our turnovers. First KC regular season game Bills won the turnover battle 2 to 1. But KC got a TD off the Bills lone turnover, while the Bills offense squandered both take aways and punted after each of the two turnovers the Bills D gave them. All three combined turnovers in this game were nearly in the exact same field position as well, mid field give or take 5 yards. To answer the question, when your QB is as good as JA, you can definitely win with multiple turnovers.
  23. The football God's are writing this down.
  24. Nope. Brees had a MONSTER 46TD, 5,500 yard 110 passer rating and 82 QBR season in 2011 while leading the Saints to a 13-3 record and loss to a 15-1 Arron Rodgers lead Packers team. Rodges has spoiled several great MVP deserving seasons from other QB's.
  25. Shakir is just getting started so timeline was not bad.
