  1. Am I wrong in thinking Lamar has no chance in being named a first team all-pro QB this year? Yes, he'll likely win the MVP but that is an entirely different award. An award that has almost as much to do with team success as actual individual dominance on the field. I see all three of Dak, Purdy and Allen having better chances of being named all-pro QB's this year.
  2. May be true. That’s also kind of how we ended up being able to trade for Diggs.
  3. Trade for DK Metcalf and turn Diggs into a 120 catch slot receiver.
  4. Make DK Metcalf a Bill by any means necessary. He would be the same age as Diggs was when we traded for him.
  5. he’s been unbelievable and his year in keeping his sack numbers and sack yardage low this year. He’s going a great job of getting rid of the ball when he is under duress.
  6. they’ve historically been really bad against QB’s that can run the ball and extend plays. Look at their last two games against the Ravens and the numbers Lamar has put up on them and the last 10 or so games Allen has played against them.
  7. Dorsey was never the problem all long. Shocking… not. The guy was fired after a game in which the players shot themselves in the foot four times to lose the turnover battle 4-0. The Giants game was wildly misconstrued as a bad game by the OC. The offense was nearly perfect in the second half of the Giants game and in the first half we had two drives end by WR’s getting their feet tangled up with the DB’s and Allen throwing an INT. The good news is the Dolphins defense should be the cure for our offensive woes. I agree with all of this pretty much. I’ll be concerned if the offense doesn’t have a good game against the Dolphins trash defense.
  8. I think it has more to do with defenses keying on the line of scrimmage because of the threat of Allen running. Makes it hard to run screen passes. i would be curious if the Ravens also execute poor or few screen passes for the same reason.
  9. I still expect our game next week to be the Sunday night game so we will know exactly what is at stake going into it. Worst case scenario I am hoping our win or go home motivation will be greater than the Dolphins motivation to win the division with a playoff ticket already punched. no. Steelers lose and we are in no matter what.
  10. they played like crap out of the bye last time they were in this same situation. I think the smart move is to tell the players they are playing the entire game and then bench most the starters for the second half. Back
  11. Take anything we can get with the injuries we have had to our defense this year. But Chubb kind of sucks anyway. Major bust for them.
  12. Pitt @ Balt loss still most likely even with Baltimore resting a lot of starters.
  13. I know the rule. The ref was likely confused on which guy said he was eligible. This is avoided if only one lineman goes to the ref and not three.
  14. Audio and video wouldn’t prove anything other than referee Brad Allen made a mistake due to getting a little sloppy on his mechanics of ineligible lineman reporting and the Lions trickery being a little too good for their own good. All of which we already assume to be true.
  15. Honestly, not caring who won this game, I am a bit happy that the Lions foolish trickery backfired and they ended up fooling the ref. Just send one lineman to report. Hopefully McDermott is taking notes. Not sure how we have typically handled lineman reporting in the past. I do think we were flagged on one earlier in the year ourselves. 100% they did. if they only send one lineman instead of three this doesn’t happen.
  16. of all the officials I know they always say they love basketball officiating for the speed of the game and football for the rules and mechanics.
  17. Three lineman walk up to the ref and we don’t know what any of the three say. Lions could have avoided all of this by only having one lineman walk up to the ref. Then we would no for certain who reported even without audio.
  18. While the ref definitely made a mistake, I have to blame the lions a bit here. They have 3 o-lineman going to one ref to report one lineman eligible. What could go wrong? How about just have the one eligible lineman report?
  19. can you have two o-lineman report eligible on the same play? If not, why does Detroit have two lineman walking up to the ref to report for one player? Must have confused the ref as to which number? When you watch a longer clip, it also looks like the ref gives the eligible lineman signal to the defense before the snap too. Only thing I can think of is that he got the number wrong.
  20. When is the last time an MVP winner had a TD:TO ratio less than 2:1? Jackson and Tua are turnover machines. But it is Allen who has the turnover problem says everyone. Okaaaay. Also, everyone easily leaves out Allen’s receiving TD in 2020. He had 46 TD’s that year.
  21. Feel like it is slightly more likely we win the division and our matchup is with Houston or Indy.
  22. the passes are not thrown straight to the DB. We’re trying to get a penalty on a deep pass. we’re trying to give the receiver a chance to play on the ball. They just happen to to get picked.
  23. I don't know that an arm punt has ever been officially defined but the commonly thought of definition would be a pass on 3rd and 10+, from your side of the field that ends inside the opponents 20 yard line. Or a pass from inside your own 20 that lands in the opponents side of the field or better yet inside their 40 yard line. Those would be what I would consider harmless arm punts. And the bolded in your quote, isn't that what an arm punt is trying to do? Move the chains? Obviously, 3rd 10-12 range, more ideal to try a play around the sticks to pick up the first but if you are in 3rd and 15+ that is when a deep shot is definitely called for more often. And you can't have an arm punt on 4th down. Defenders would just knock the ball down. At least they should.
