  1. True. I think you can live with blowing one per game for the most part. Even today. Had we only blown one assignment that would have only been either 23 or 20 points give up depending on which OJ Howard TD comes off the board. I think you can live with that against a really good offense like the Bucs have. And most weeks teams definitely don't blow two coverage's for TDs. Teams are going to score passing TD but you want them to work for it.
  2. The defense is what it has been all year. Outside of the two blown assignments on Howard which unfortunately went for TDs, this defense was playing exactly how it had in the previous 5 games. Bend but don't break. There's a reason why coming into this game they were #1 in ppg but only #13 in ypg. They also played the best offense they have faced to date so far. They gave up a lot of yards which was not too surprising. They gave up more points than you would hope but again, take away ONE play and they only give up 20. Take away TWO plays and they only give up 16. This team will give up yards for sure. Even taking away two blown coverage plays Winston would have gone over 300 yards. The key is keeping teams out of the end zone. Couldn't do that today.
  3. Those are last weeks target numbers actually. He's up to 32 targets now on the season and only 7 receptions. A pitiful 22% catch rate. As another poster mentioned Taylor was 18/24 to all other receivers and 2/9 to Zay. And this is pretty much a weekly thing. So the question is, if we bench Zay and have another player run Zay's routes, can Taylor hit that player for better than a 22% completion rate? That's a pretty low bar. I got to believe so.
  4. I still think this class will have a lot of QB's taken high, top 10, but how many will pan out and be good? That's another question.
  5. Wasn't he number 7 in pre-season? He was #26 today.
  6. No need for real concern about the defense. This defense was never going to finish the season only giving up 13-14ppg. That means they are going to have days where they give up 25+ on the scoreboard. Luckily for us today was one of those days and we still escaped with a W. They've been more of a bend but don't break defense by evidence of them only being ranked 13th going into today in ypg. I expect them to finish around 12-18 in ypg and somewhere between 7-12 in ppg. If they can keep that ppg ranking in that range or even better it will be enough to give our offense a chance against a slate of defenses much worse than the ones we have faced in our first five games.
  7. Best offense we have faced all year I believe. We've been a bend and don't break defense really anyways. And that was how it was going today for most of the game until we broke on two TDs that were both broken coverage plays on Howard. We have a solid and sound defense but I expect them to finish middle of the back in yards and maybe 8-10 in points given up. Definitely hope Thompson can start next week for us. Thompson, Matthews and Holmes should be our primary three wide receiver set with Matthews and Thompson as starters.
  8. Bump. 30 points and 434 yards of offense So the remedy for the offense today was a 30th ranked defense.
  9. I thought we would move the ball fairly well on that drive. Wasn't convinced we would score a TD. But i was worried that even if we did we might lose on a late FG.
  10. Yep. And look how well they are doing with an elite LT for the last 10+ years.
  11. Josh Allen is the JP Losman version of Carson Wentz. Pass. I don't believe Brohm had the arm strength, size or athletic ability of Darnold. I feel like regardless of how much Darnold struggles this year or next, he'll be a high first round pick. Some coach and GM will believe they can fix him up. Darnold is playing this year how Luck has been playing his entire NFL career. He's a gunslinger who will throw it anywhere, anytime. That's both good and bad as we have scene.
  12. A lot of people thought the Browns were on their way to 4 or 5 wins before the season started. Thought they were going to start turning a corner this year. Same old Browns. A bunch of draft picks year after year doesn't mean much if you don't know how to use them. Hopefully that is not our fate too.
  13. I don't think there is any such thing as a statement game in Week 3 as the OP suggests Chargers in 2014 was. The statement games that year that we blew was the Chiefs and Dolphins later in the season in back to back weeks. We absolutely don't have to go 3-0 over the next three. If we do that would put us in the running for not just a wild card or division title but a #1 or #2 overall seed. I do think we need to go 2-1 for us fans to have faith that this team isn't just the same ol' Bills. And one of those two wins has to be this Sunday for this place to not meltdown.
  14. At the rate he is going it turns out Watson is better than about 20-25 other QBs too.
  15. They can't rush this guy back soon enough.
  16. You mean like three we have already enjoyed so far through five games? I know it is a what have you done for me lately league, but Jesus, you are taking that a little to literal. SHOCKING!! LOL
  17. Neither. But I figured Watkins would struggle because of his QB situation. That hasn't exactly been the case. Goff has been good enough. The fact hat he has been healthy all year and is still struggling is alarming. He actually might not be that good. You can only make so many excuses for a player. Besides that one good game, Watkins has disappeared in the Rams offense far more then he ever did in ours. I don't know that Watkins ever had three straight games as a Bill for only 2 catches and 28 yards total. Elite receivers just don't do that regardless of who is throwing them the ball.
  18. If both the Jets and Fish finish the season at .500 or better than yeah that is something to crow about.
  19. And I think only two inter-division games have been played in total? Jets vs. Bills and Pats vs. Jets. So these wins are mostly common from beating up on other divisions. Nah, Worst is either AFC North or NFC West.
  20. That's why we really got to consider benching him if this continues into the Bucs games. The inefficiency is killing the offense. An offense that is already not all that strong to begin with. It is hard to imagine Taylor having a lower completion rate to any other receiver.
  21. Not at all actually. Makes it even better.
  22. Just like when he was with us. Beat a 13 or 14 win Green Bay team and then follow that up the next week with a loss to a 2 win Raider team.
  23. I like our odds of the Bills sweeping the Dolphins over the Dolphins sweeping the Bills if that means anything.
  24. 250 from this point out is probably asking too much. He's at 180 right now. 50 ypg improvement would be pretty good and would put him around 230. We also need to get the running game going too so some of the total yardage improvement will be in the ground game hopefully too.
