  1. The Bills tried to do the best thing for him. They will have a clear conscience.
  2. I assume he's the one you have to credit for managing the cap better than in the past couple of years. By passing on Gilmore, the Bills can more easily go after people cut (for cap reasons) by other teams between now and Week 1.
  3. A cheap threat to the pharmaceutical monopoly/lobby, so there will be much pressure ($) to prevent this from happening in the most visible sport (marketing $) in the country.
  4. It would be great to know what the texting activity is between McDermott and beanie boy. Anyone work for the NSA?
  5. a very good point. You can be the superior team in many ways and still lose because of the difference at QB. Ask Dallas.
  6. Judge him after he's had a chance to coach real games for a season.
  7. On a positive note, and Depending on CK's recovery, the offensive line Should be a real strength of the team.
  8. No. That Taylor contract was crap, and I doubt Whaley really knew it when he signed it. That means they are both to blame. I cut Whaley a little slack on the cap situation because of what he was trying to do*, but that doesn't excuse him for not being more strategic and involved. * He spent a lot of money upgrading the offense in 2015 because they already had a playoff caliber defense. I don't fault him for bribing Shady, over-paying for Clay (because Roman wanted him), and bringing in Harvin.
  9. Another body to add to the mix, someone with experience; no more no less. I would hazard a guess that the Bills will carry 6 CBs on the final 53 roster and only 4 of them are currently on the roster.
  10. Whaley has to sign off on them. When asked about Taylor's terrible contract, he said as much. However, Whaley admittedly said he left salary cap issues to Overdorff. The fact that he didn't think about it strategically is one of his major weaknesses.
  11. Thanks, as I was just about to look for their depth chart--already tired of the Whaley firing...
  12. A qb in R1 this year.
  13. i recall reading a piece just after the hire that monos convinced whaley to get behind mcdermott.
  14. there goes that theory
  15. Whaley is a good personnel man. I hope we don't see a Gilmore situation where many people view him as mediocre but a certain team scoops him up. i will be very disappointed if Monos goes too
  16. how soon until the patriots hire him?
  17. Scenario for a top pick in 2018. The Bills have a tough schedule as does KC. Another 7-9 season will land them in the top 10 again, and an Alex smith injury could do the same with their other first. If Chicago ends up with the worst record, they will be ready to deal.
  18. not at all. He's the head coach, not D.C.
  19. no disagreement. I'm a Whaley supporter as a personnel man, and i believe it's a good combination going forward--McDermott 's vision and Whaley/monos personnel assessments.
  20. It's the draft, where even the professionals disagree, and the proof isn't known until after the third season at least. In the meantime, TBD is entertained with the spectrum of opinions, from brilliance to idiocy. What we do know is McDermott is the power, and, whether you like or hate him, we'll find out soon enough if Whaley is included in his long term plan...
  21. i could see them moving up a pick or two using a 5th, but not going far enough up with the 3rd. Last year Ragland was a strong R1 talent for them. As you state, there's no one left who you s worth a big move at this point.
  22. i wouldn't call him slow though... http://www.nfl.com/draft/2017/profiles/kevin-king?id=2557996
  23. I was surprised that 3 WRs went in the top 10. You had 2 there, so maybe less of a surprise to you?
  24. No. I'm okay without cover sheets...
