  1. i almost added this, he will be activated because he is a good ST player. That's what helped him stick with Carolina.Btw, I won't be surprised if they add another WR in the next 24 hours...in addition to whathisname from. The panthers...
  2. As I said, sometimes you try to put those young promising guys on the PS, and keep a vet. If he was on the 53, Reilly would not be dressing game day. The result for the Bills and Reilly are the same if he clears waivers and is put on the PS. It's the risk they are willing to take, as that's where undrafted young promising players tend to end up.
  3. try not to get any mudges on it.
  4. i think you are taking the earn the right mantra to an extreme. Performance in preseason games is one variable, and for vets, that's not what McD needs to evaluate them by. He knows what Shady, KW, Hughes, Tyrod, Tolbert and many other vets can do, but are they doing all the other things McD expects in order to change the culture here. Re Reilly, I am sure they are taking a calculated risk that he doesn't get claimed. He (and shorts) are the type of players that best serve themselves and the team being on the PS. We'll see soon enough.
  5. after Shady, JWill, and demarco, who has outperformed him, especially considering having to play ST?
  6. yeah, I checked out their depth chart after seeing he was released. On the other hand, BB always seems to pick up a cast off every season.
  7. first, who would you say "earned" a spot over Tolbert? Second, and more important, he's a voice and leader in the locker room that the coach needs, especially in his first year--it has significant value. Even without the latter, Tolbert should make the team. Ducasse and Holmes, on the other hand...
  8. He seems the type of WR that the Pat's covet. That would be disappointing to say the least...
  9. What will you guys do next offseason when there's not Mudge to do?
  10. Man, Seattle and New England again...
  11. This is starting to look like a well coached team.
  12. Mr. Ed
  13. what I liked about this draft is the trades to move up and get players (jones and Dawkins) they wanted. They got 3 solid starters in the first two rounds. I'm hoping they do the same next year, given how they've stock-piled picks for 2018. While the draft is always a crapshoot, it's even more so in the later rounds. Use your later picks to move around and get the guys in the first two rounds that you are very confident in. If they can get 5 starters in the first two rounds next year, while giving up one R3 and some later picks, I'd take that.
  14. I thought they never got off the wall, rather they made it to the part that was still standing? Either way, it looked like they survived. Great finish!
  15. The Ravens D has played very well in the first two preseason games, so I'm hoping for a few good drives and some points by the O, showing progress. Continued good showing by our starting D.
  16. Your example is why I don't like the focus of the thread, which team or area is more talented? The more important question is, will this team improve on O, D, and ST, translating into more wins? For your question, group A is more talented because of Sammy, but that doesn't mean that this year's group as a whole won't be more productive than last year's, which wasnt very good. It's quite possible the passing game overall will be better due to scheme and Tyrod improving, leading to an improvement in point production. The biggest improvement for the team will be on D because the talent is better suited to the scheme, even though the talent is only marginally better than last year's on the whole. From this perspective, I think the Bills will most likely improve the most on D, as measured by ppg, because of scheme, they should be better on ST because of Haushka, and I think the O should be as productive as last year. That should translate to more wins, but they also have a tougher schedule. Only time will tell...
  17. Talked to someone who works for the Bills recently and he told me this little anecdote. McD asked all of the trainers to a meeting where he addressed the idea of tanking. He emphatically stated "we are not!" He doesn't want anyone around with that mentality, including the training staff! I like it.
  18. I'm really looking forward to the final episode of the season to see Jon, Dani, Cersei, Tyrion, Jaime, the Hound and Mountain, et al all in the same scene for the first time. I'm sure we'll get some "closure" with Little finger too. It seems pretty clear the season will end with the Night King on his dragon approaching the Wall. While I doubt there will ever be another show quite like this, I have to say I will temper my expectations for the final season based on this last episode (6). While I enjoyed many things about it, it marked a transition for me from GoT focused on the machinations of the 7 kingdoms, which is what made the show, to the fantasy/zombie element. Again, I'm sure I will enjoy the final season, but it will be more focused on the fantasy element rather than the personalities. While there has to be some closure with Cersei and Jon when he finds out his true identity, especially how that will impact his relationship with Dani, next season will mainly be about defeating the Night King. One thing I will do different as I wait for the final season is stay clear of all of the rumor articles. Given my thirst for GoT news while waiting for season 7, I read a few articles about the "leaks" posted on Reddit, and many were dead on. I prefer to go into the final season without that information. It's going to be a long winter...
  19. thanks!
  20. It would be great if you could provide a little more detail on the performance of the backup safeties, especially with Anderson experiencing a setback.
  21. A guy I'm rooting for, Joe Powell, S. interesting story and road to the NFL. He made a great play on his INT last week. It sure would be nice if someone in the media did a story about the guys competing for the backup safety jobs.
  22. They let I'm go for cap reasons, for the most part.
  23. i could run their pro side: "who wants to sign with us and win a ring?"
