  1. "Exciting" is a strong word for this. Real strong word. For most people, the schedule release is simply a nice update in a down-time for NFL news.
  2. Even if they made the standard moves to cover their asses, this seems like a favorable situation for the players/coaches/executives. They'll get something out of it, considering how badly they got boned. The league basically straight up lied to them when they constructed these contracts. I assume the lawyers reviewed the contract and concluded that there's some kind of legitimate case here.
  3. Dundon and Ebersol are named as individual defendants. Both have tons of money. Dundon, in particular, is your stereotypical scumbag businessman. He saw an opportunity to buy the rights to the league's app tech and then screwed the league/players. Straight up business move with no regard to whoever he was ***** over. And in the long run, he's probably fine with paying the settlement, considering the higher gains he potentially will make in the future.
  4. The dudes that found/owned the league still have plenty of money. This kind of thing happens a lot in situations such as this (businesses failing and not fulfilling promises). Bank pays out the settlement and the sued party pays back the bank over time, with interest, I think. Something like that.
  5. Lol, I wanted Ziggy Ansah and Matt Barkley in the 2013 draft.... here's to hoping my dreams finally come true.
  6. I would trade out because I think Murray will tank hard. He's still just a kid. Not a leader. He wanted to play baseball, but is going with the NFL per his dad's wishes because the endorsements will be much better as the #1 pick in the NFL vs just some guy in the MLB. The Cardinals will basically have two college kids (Kliff and Kyler) as the leaders of their team... it's not gonna end well.
  7. Darr wasn't too good, but Schmidt was much worse last year. King kinda sucked... http://proxy.espn.com/nfl/statistics/player?stat=punting&sort=puntsInside20&year=2017 Decent net avg in 2017, but stats indicating placement are poor. Even worse 2018, but he got injured
  8. I wonder where Moorman's jersey ranks among all-time sellers....even last 20 year sellers Whatever it is, it's too high. He's definitely the best selling #8 jersey.
  9. He did well, your eyes aren't deceiving you. Too bad he was injured. His stats may have been better with more punts...or they could've been worse...Buffalo wind/weather generally gets worse later in the year. As long as Buffalo has starting-caliber talent at punter (not Darr or Schmidt) then they should be in good shape considering the other ST additions like Roberts and Perry. Sophomore slump's a real thing, but if nerves are the predominant issue for a punter, I think those only get better over time.
  10. Punters in domes have historically better stats. It's at least half the games in perfect weather plus whatever away games are in domes.
  11. Dickson's averages are good, but look at the rest of his stats: IN20:TB was 5.5:1, same as Corey FC% was an abysmal 12.8%...7.2% worse than Corey Return yards average was 8.4, good for 17th in the league. Corey was 10th at just 6.9. Just because a punter is kicking it far, it doesn't mean he's good. Matt Wile on the Vikings actually does a phenomenal job. IN20:TB ratio of 13.5 to 1, 20% are FCs, and ret yds avg of 6.1, but he plays in a dome. Tress Way in Washington booted 41 inside the 20 and had 0 TBs! He also had a great FC % of 32%, but ret yds avg was 24th in the league. In that article I posted, the author bashes Shane Lechler a bunch. He's considered great and was always solid in average and net avg, but sucked in all other categories. He didn't have much of a positive impact on the Raiders.
  12. Weather plays a big factor in Buffalo. That's why its not good just to look at net average. There are a bunch of variables affecting it that are out of the punter's control. That's why the other measurables I mentioned are important. Bojorquez was good as a rookie. Maybe nerves got to him sometimes. He has plenty of talent (more that Darr or Schmidt). Not sure how his talent compares to the other Cory that people have mentioned here.
  13. Punters need love, too Brian Moorman was always our best player growing up....
  14. Because it's Bojo vs Backups vs Cory to the death
  15. 21st best, actually. Less than half of qualifying punters were above 40. Old-ish but good article on analyzing punters. It talks a lot about how misleading averages can be. Net average is obviously better, but it still only shows a small part of the whole picture.
  16. Thanks to all the know-it-alls pointing out that we have Cory. If he's even better than Corey, then that's great.
  17. Gadammit, I forgot about that! Thanks. That was a good decision. He didn't bring much to the table from what I saw.
  18. Me too. At least these guys got some solid action on tape for NFL scouts to view. Hopefully, some can get another chance.
  19. I haven't seen it discussed, which isn't surprising. It's the ***** punter, you know? Are they even people? Turns out they are...and we have one entering his 2nd year, named Corey. When Bojorquez was punting the Bills netted 39.4 yards. When the back-ups (Schmidt and Darr) were punting, the Bills netted 35 yards. That's actually a significant difference in the world of punting. Did I mention Corey was a rookie? He should only get better. Old-ish but good article on analyzing punters. It talks a lot about how misleading averages can be. Net average is obviously better, but it still only shows a small part of the whole picture . Looking at Corey's stats, his IN20:TB ratio was 5.5 to 1, which is great. His fair catch percentage was 20, which is not great, but his return yards average was only 6.9, which is great (10th in the league). So, guys were opting to return it pretty often, but the Bills' players were right there to make the tackle. That probably indicates good coverage and/or placement and/or hang time. Darr wasn't too shabby at 8.0, but Schmidt was brutal at 16...yikes. The Bills notably added some special teams aces in free agency, including Andre Roberts - last year's league leader in kick return yardage and average yards per punt return. Roberts' returning repertoire may not help Bojorquez much, but Sinorise Perry will. He's a big contributor in blocking and coverage. I'm overtly optimistic about the Bills' special teams potential this season. With enough improvement, that unit could turn the tide of a few games and generally provide a positive impact to the field position battle. Special teams strategy is no mystery. In my opinion, the two factors that'll boost a unit towards the top are talent and creativity. It appears that the Bills have the talent, so now it's up to the coach. In regards to Bombin' Bojo, I'd like to see him improve his fair catch percentage this season. He should also remain top 10 in average return yards. His IN20:TB ratio is great, but if he got it up to 6 or 7 he'd be tops in the league. The average yards doesn't matter much and the Buffalo weather has a significant impact on distance. Can this special teams unit be top ten overall?
  20. I thought that's what they were going for when I first caught a glimpse of the new jerseys. Turned out to be like a combination of the old school and new. They really don't utilize their "Jet" theme enough within their imagery.
  21. I love the green and white color combo. Green and black looks too much like the Eagles...or Jaguars Those green/white jerseys are classy, though.
  22. Classic narcissism for Rodgers. Classic self-righteousness for McCarthy. Not a good mix.
  23. We're not discussing fan belief, dude. It's just a statement of the FO's plan. They believe in Allen and have their plan in place. They've prioritized offensive players in FA and will get the BPA in the draft. If they didn't believe in Allen, I'm sure their plan would change a little. If Allen doesn't show improvement this year or next, they'll look at drafting a new QB. As long as they stick to the overall building plan (prioritize needs in FA and draft BPA; retain talent at the right value; maintain their organization's core values), then they should be alright. They'll be golden if they get a solid QB. Allen doesn't have the stats yet, but he looks the part. We'll see how he pans out this season as the 3rd year of the building plan comes to a close.
