  1. Yes, the fact that Ray Lewis, OJ, and Harrison are all enshrined makes the TO ballot situation a complete joke. I still would have liked to see him at the induction ceremony though. His Chattanooga temper tantrum certainly didn’t do much to improve his image.
  2. Sometimes there’s a reason that a guy falls to third receiver. Time will tell if Carolina misjudged his talents, or if he just isn’t deserving of being a number one receiver.
  3. Exactly, he just appears to be demonstrating some diva receiver traits. Hopefully it isn’t indicative of his future here. Personally, I think it just sounds like he’s bitter things didn’t work in Carolina.
  4. Great story. As a youngster I met Marv at training camp in Fredonia. I haven’t met many “famous people”, but Marv is one of the few who didn’t leave me feeling somewhat disappointed. He was a gracious and down to earth man who seemed genuinely willling to give us a moment of his time. Many men of his stature simply go through the motions while interacting with fans. Marv seemed to understand the importance of not just the players, but the fans as well. From that point forward I always understood why he was so respected by his players.
  5. Why not? Stockpiling subpar receivers seems to be a strength of this front office.
  6. Yes, but claiming that he would have been better with “any other quarterback” is ridiculous. Newton isn’t Brady, but he’s not a bottom tier QB like many people here seem to think. I’d take Newton over Benjamin on my team every day of the week.
  7. I think that depends on how the QB’s develop. If Peterman continues to look like he did in San Diego, then yes, a waiver wire QB wouldn’t look like a terrible option if necessary.
  8. Championships are nice, but I’m sure most guys would prefer to have the life of LeBron. James gets to chase titles and money simultaneously. Most athletes aren’t given that choice. More often than not, money takes precedence over championships. Going to the Pats would give him a chance at a Super Bowl ring, but I think his best days are behind him.
  9. So, apparently Zay also provides food, tax money, home maintenance costs, etc to her for the rest of her of life?
  10. I disagree about the good voice thing for male announcers. Being an ex jock is the male announcer prerequisite. I agree. There simply isn’t much quality in the booth these days. Tony Romo was a bit of an anomaly. Witten never struck me as being as bright as Romo. This has the potential to be a rough crew.
  11. I agree, it’s all relative. Compared to NYC, every NFL city is boring. We are a nation of suburban neighborhoods. The importance of vibrant cities (downtown districts) began to lose their importance in the 50’s. This trend is slowly being reversed, but people inhabit cities for economic opportunities more than the ability to have fun. There are plenty of interesting and exciting NFL cities, but there are also many boring ones. Keep in mind, what’s boring to a tourist, isn’t necessarily boring to a resident.
  12. Exactly. GB has a metro area population of 312K. That’s around 800 K less than the Buffalo-Niagara region (one of he smallest NFL markets). Cities the size of Green Bay just aren’t that exciting in comparison to larger cities.
  13. I originally interpreted this thread as meaning what city has the most boring football atmosphere. Then the OP stated that it’s simply the most boring city with an NFL team. If this is the case, how has the thread lasted four pages? The answer is unequivocally Green Bay.
  14. Regardless, it can all be transmitted. Therefore suing someone for herpes is absurd. With that said, you can sue someone in civil court for anything, and the alleged lack of consciousness part is really bad.
  15. Shouldn’t be anything. Almost the entire population carries the herpes virus in various forms. It needs to be something bigger before I’m willing dish out cash.
  16. He was a whipping boy, but guys like Kelsay also personified the drought Bills. Those teams were full of guys deemed “serviceable” by fans, yet none of them were good enough to help take a team to the next level. The drought era teams simply held on to dozens of serviceable players for too long imo. Fwiw, the Kelsay contract was awful management. It was the type of decision that created that drought.
  17. I agree. I tend to believe that Haley is a vastly overrated OC who performs well with elite talent, who doesn’t? Additionally, he seems to wear out his welcome every place he goes.
  18. “It’s a balmy day by Buffalo standards”. Something along those lines is often said by announcers whenever Orchard Park reaches its typical high temp in the fall. Also, how have we forgotten my personal favorite? “high motor”.
  19. Can someone please tell me why these 20 something pro athletes get married?
  20. It doesn’t help that the media fuels the Patriots fans. NFL live is on right now, they are presently worshipping at the alter of NE. The hosts are discussing how brilliant the Pats are at finding great receivers. This was followed by highlights of Julian Edelman’s greatest plays. Typically, it’d be tacky to show a cheaters greatest plays, but ESPN can’t resist any chance to salute the Pats.
