I got DTV Satellite a quarter century ago to see Bills games on Sunday ticket. I still have the dish with a bare bones package of channels plus DTV Streaming for every day use. The streaming goes out from time to time, so now the dish is just for emergencies. A little redundancy isn’t the end of the world.

It seems they are actively trying to do some damage control and a little self scouting. That’s the least we should expect. But I won’t hold my breath waiting for anything to actually get better.

I went to a bar yesterday for the US Open at lunch. They didn’t have it either. Nor did the have rolls for my beef on weck. I struck out. .

HA! Just as I typed this I got a survey from DirecTV so it was a perfect opportunity to share what I thought of them and their (lack of) service.

They pulled our NBC affiliates in the last year, and it took a couple months to get worked out. It seems it’s happening more and more. I missed Jess Pegula at the US Open yesterday and FSU last night thanks to Disney. This is getting out of control.

I was joshing you there. I heard it was great, but my provider screwed me out of it.

Good to know. I was busy and never bothered trying to switch over (several exhausting clicks of multiple controls) but I wondered if I had a safety net.

I found it annoying that I couldn’t go ice fishing, snowmobiling or curling on the pond this weekend.

So, my DTV Streaming is apparently having one of those little contract snits with anything Disney. That means no ESPN/ABC or US Open. I learned this as I tried to tune in to see Jess play at noon. I went to a local bar to watch and have a beef on weck. They don’t have Disney either so no tennis, and they just sold the last roll of weck. I struck out. 😢 People here are more worried about maybe missing FSU tonight. College football rules here.

You have nothing to feel bad about. I record every game, but I never go back and rewatch them. Labor Day tangent here, but you’ve been to one handful of games live, and yet you are still actively here. I went to home games for about a decade as a kid, then nothing for 2-3 decades, and now I go to one or two games a year. We have people who have never been to a Bills game. And we have people here who have been going consistently for multiple decades. Very diverse group we have in terms of in person experience, but that’s who we are.

But have a SWELL time! I wish I could help. My son has been and I’ve always wanted to go, but for some reason the wife doesn’t see it the way I do. .

Sorry if I missed it, but what is his condition now? When might he be available again? I never really heard how serious it was.

Is it at local pharmacies? Grocery stores? We moved from the lowcountry in 1993 and just make occasional visits since, maybe every other year.

Good to know! I’m always looking for a better way. We were in Hilton Head in May and the anti-bug juice smell on the table took me back decades to skin so soft. Unfortunately, you can’t spray that stuff on your food or drink. I forgot how much I hated those damn no-see ‘ems!!!!

I think you are probably referring to what we called “no-see ‘ems”, and they can be a pain in the butt, and in the ear, nose or eye. We used Skin So Soft as the most effective repellent when I lived in the Lowcountry. I’m pretty sure they still sell that.
