Gabe Davis? I’ve heard of him…… We will be losing some important guys from the WR room this year. They need to be replaced with younger and hopefully cheaper options. We have Gabe Davis, one of the steals of that draft. Now we need more just like that, and probably a vet like John Brown, Beasley or Sanders. I think a better way to say it is we HAVE our #2 WR already. And they need more. .

I don’t think they give up on Epenesa this soon. Time will tell.

Imagine Jerry wondering if he would “bother” playing for “only” $3 million a year. Don’t get me wrong, I do NOT begrudge any of them the money, it’s just such a different world and mindset. Good for them, especially the ones that are truly good people.

I’m pretty sure we don’t have to be single to be…….influenced.

Banged Up Bills analyzes Jameson Williams injury and recovery

AND, the McGahee injury was much more severe. I seem to recall that 20 years before THAT they might have considered amputation! My son tore his ACL and MCL about 10 years ago and had surgery on June 24 (same day Tiger Woods had his ACL surgery). He played in a Thanksgiving high school basketball tournament about 5 months later. Not 100% certainly, but he was out there. What they can do now is AMAZING! The big problem with McGahee was not the knee or the player, it was the person. -

You know what they say: You can’t drink all day if you don’t start in the morning!

How much can you drink in 13 seconds?

Looks like the call to squib may not have made it to Bass

See the bold at the end. The winner of that game did not win, or even MAKE, the Super Bowl. You are taking too much for granted. THIS is why they play the games, and that was a GREAT one…..with a horrible ending. He owned the loss, he said it was on him. The team has to move on. I’d kindly suggest you do the same. -
Long story, but I almost had my left big toe amputated from the knuckle up in high school before freshman year. That is your main balance/push off toe. The Braves surgeon managed to save it, but it took a couple years. I was active in sports in high school and college, then became a VERY avid tennis player as an adult. I’m not “outraged” and it’s a clever title, but I can’t make fun of it as it hits close to home. I still have issues with that toe. That is some serious chit. Think about it, your big toe does all the work! On a side note, my wife’s Lebanese family is lactose intolerant, and there is nothing funny about that either. Especially in a car on the ride home!

I love signings like Poyer and Hyde. I’m not going to drool over Ray Lewis. Find value players at a reasonable price who fit the scheme.

Does the strategy change when a team is this close to the SB?
Augie replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
They moved. I think this is a thinly veiled PSL thread. Maybe. ….or something completely different. A plea for another TE? I really don’t know…… 🤷♂️ I say we keep our current course. Make smart moves, draft well, don’t lunge for big splashy names fans recognize. . -
This just doesn’t have the same sizzle as the Mario Williams thread. Who misses the good old days of hoping for a Big Name, on a meh team? We got a few pages out of that one! 😋

I know a lot of people are (deservedly) upset with McD over this. Hell, I think McD is on that list! But I still admire him for how he handled it afterward. He was vague according to some, but he clearly said it all falls on him as the HC. He didn’t point fingers, or name names. Nothing good would have come of that. Instead, Farwell wasn’t “fired” but quietly found himself a position in the (college) football Mecca of Jax. There were reports of players being upset, but I think they were mostly attempts to get clicks. YES, everybody was upset, but we lived, we learned, he owned it and we need to move on. I don’t think McD could have played it much better. It was going to be extremely difficult, but he did what he could. Some things sting longer than others…… The words “wide right” come to mind. . -
Anyone know where @HOUSE parked his car???

All the more reason to draft better than the other guys. “Buying” the biggest names and best players only works for so long if you don’t have a lot of cheap young talent coming in. Invest is scouting, evaluation and development. A guy like Gabe Davis will be paid one day, but until then he’s been an insane steal for us.

There is only one Aaron Donald. And I don’t mean just last season. He is an all-time great who is a HOF lock. Let’s have reasonable expectations.

A recent Shout made me think, who is the greatest blind singer?
Augie replied to Beerball's topic in Off the Wall
You started this, so I’ll ask you: Does blind drunk at karaoke count? I’ve seen some pretty good acts! I’m torn between Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles. I think Stevie is better, but I enjoy Ray Charles more. Since I can’t decide, I’m going with @Gugny instead! -
Yep. The Packers are trying to get one more ring with Rodgers in the NFC with most of the good young QB’s in the AFC. After this last little run for 2-3 years there will be some serious pain involved.
-
Well, he should look into just about everything. I just don’t think it will be feasible. I’m all for being great, it just isn’t that easy or simple, IMO. I like to build organically for the most part to stay a contender every year. Having said that, the Rams got their rings and I understand the people who want to pull out all the stops a do “win now” things. I’ll trust Beane’s judgment.
-
Fine, let the AFCW cannabilize themselves, and give us home field advantage in the playoffs! That’s the best I got.

As far as fantasies go, that’s pretty weak, but this is a family board, I suppose.

Notable Nexflix / Amazon / Premium Channel Series & Movies
Augie replied to Heitz's topic in Off the Wall
The last Reacher book I read was with what I believe to be his son, Andrew Child. Someone said Lee was ready to give it up and handed it off to his son. Better Off Dead was like a caricature of a typical Reacher novel. Everything “Reacher” is exaggerated, including a lot of one word sentences. I’ll check out the series on Amazon Prime, but I’ll pick different books going forward. -
I think plenty of people have called him a bust in relation to his draft position. They didn’t say he wasn’t adequate, but that he wasn’t worth where he was drafted. Pretty sure about that one. Semantics? He’s played well enough that I want to see him stick around, for sure! .

My sister had very long hair when she was young. It saved her life. We were at some quarry or lake with a giant wood float in the middle. Somebody jumped on her, knocked her in the head and knocked her out. Somebody else saw a long pony tail floating out from under the raft. He reached down and pulled on it. And eventually my sister appeared. We are all lucky to have made it this far!
