  1. So, how do you really feel about women in general, and marriage in particular? 😊 I liked “happy and content with his partner” Josh last season over Bengals playoff game Josh. They are all still people, and the things around you in your life matter.
  2. OR….. we could be the Bengals and sign TWO WRs to giant contracts, then recruit from the season ticket holder fanbase to fill out the rest of the roster. It might also help with the remaining PSLs. .
  3. Some of us learn faster than others, some much slower and some never at all. Regardless, I try not to jump to judgment.
  4. I’m far more impressed by a person who can turn their life around and become a positive force than a person who is really good at throwing a football.
  5. The Social Media stuff sometimes even has a hint of truth to it! Everybody has a cheery story to tell, but it’s not the whole story. My wife went to a sorority reunion at the beach with decades of ladies all renting houses and getting rowdy. My wife’s closest friend showed up and things got interesting. She wanted to hear about everyone’s “real life”, not the lovely FaceBook version. She said “I’ll start! I’ve got one kid in rehab, another in prison and the third one is a doctor. Go figure!” My Facebook page had been blocked for several years for some unknown attempted intrusion before I even realized it. It was no great loss, obviously.
  6. We should get to vote on this. I’d be willing to bet on the outcome!
  7. But as long as it’s on the way……
  8. I’m guessing some of them are quite accomplished at hide and seek by now.
  9. I think they may have done that just to piss you off! And entertain us, of course. 😊
  10. It was the first time we went to Las Vegas and we were staying at Caesar's Palace. My wife gets up early, so she got to enjoy the pools a bit. I had shorter visits, because by about 10:30am it was unbearable! It was hitting 105-110 degrees during that stay, and with 6% humidity it felt like I was sticking my head in the oven to check the Thanksgiving turkey! I caught myself actually holding my breath walking down the strip because there was a hotel mister coming up on the sidewalk. Not my idea of fun.
  11. You reminded me that we flew into Salt Lake City on the way to Park City once, and it was beautiful! I generally don’t like the brown of desert, but I’ve also seen some beautiful stuff too, so I don’t think I know enough to have an informed opinion yet. I’d like to fix that. If you’re not lay on the beach people or skiers, what do you do around Christmas? I think we may look into learning more about the SW. Hawaii is another option, but it’s a 10 hour flight if you go direct from Atlanta, and we’d probably end up with a layover. That’s a haul! We can get to Europe a lot faster.
  12. Be honest, you were gonna sneak ‘em in anyway. I don’t believe you are really a sumo wrestler!
  13. I was at the game and part of that noise. I never watched the game again, but those “lowlights” look like what I remember. And why I was screaming. It was a precursor to what the Chiefs would do to us decades later. GRRR!
  14. We sold our last house 4 doors up the street to a couple from Florida. Their daughter had just had twins with serious birth defects that would require multiple surgeries and round the clock care. They needed to be closer to help. Months later the daughter’s husband decides they want to be closer to their lake house, so they moved more than an hour away. They tolerate the SIL only because the daughter married him, and she’s the breadwinner. Go figure. 🤷‍♂️ Tangent here! We want to travel on Christmas Day rather than sit home alone looking at each other. The son and his family will be in Florida, and it’s depressing to have nothing going on. We’ve considered a number of possible locations, but I’m curious what others might suggest. I haven’t been out west much other than several trips to California (mostly wine country and the general San Francisco coastal areas) and a couple trips to Las Vegas. Anything people would recommend? We’re not really beach people, and it will be winter. I have no desire to ever ski again, so….what to do? Anyone have suggestions? The mention of Sedona and AZ made me curious. .
  15. I heard some guy who had to be a Pats* fan yesterday talking about their upcoming season with Diggs on the roster to help their young QB. I held my tongue, but I wanted to walk over and chime in about his excitement for an old WR coming off a torn ACL who never feels his job is done until he has worn out his welcome. I figured that was no way to make friends, so I smiled and kept going. 😊
  16. My sister (8 years older) saw the Beatles and the Stones almost back to back about 5 years earlier. I just remember her and her friends running up and down the street screaming at the top of their lungs, “practicing”. She said you couldn’t hear anything the Beatles did on stage, but it still had to be cool to be there. Her husband was at Woodstock. Those were the days!
  17. I used to watch Willard Scott announce all the folks who turned 100 in my morning routine before work. I’m having breakfast and reading the sports section and he announces a name of a guy from Hilton Head, my home at the time. That got my attention, then I noticed the same guy in the obituary section at the end of the sports. So close! Hang in there Marv!
  18. They are saving that until the special celebration for your birthday.
  19. Not that this is the Grand Canyon, but pics just don’t do some things justice.
  20. They “let them play” in the playoffs, which means the Chiefs DBs can grab our WR’s with impunity. We need to be able to adjust, and I think that was one of the ideas that led to the drafting of Keon Coleman. It’s certainly not just that, but that was a real thing.
  21. I have been trained to assume that one or both of them will miss time due to injury. Between some missed time and all of our other weapons, I lean toward the under, but barely. If they stay healthy and the game slows down for them, they could easily sail past 120, however.
  22. Maybe they should have had someone else call??? 🤷‍♂️ I kid, but reunions do nothing for me. I went to my 10th or 15th college reunion and saw my old friends along with a bunch of people I didn’t spend too much time with in the first place. A few years later we just had a bunch of guys from our “crowd” show up on the same weekend using a basketball game as an excuse. We had WAY more fun doing things “our way”. My parent came to visit shortly after we moved to Florida. Everywhere we went my parents ran into people they knew from WNY. They saw people at dinner they knew. They sat by people they used to work with at church the next morning. The Bills played at 1pm after church and we went to a dive bar to watch the game. (Cabana Inn if anyone knows Sarasota.) It was a dump but it was a Bills bar, with a bunch of old projection TV’s, all on the Bills game. The windows are all covered so you can see the projection TV screens more clearly. My father gets up in the dark to head to the restroom and literally bumps into a guy from high school. They had not seen each other in 50 years, and somehow in this dark bar they recognized each other. I thought that was amazing! There are very few people I might recognize in an a totally random setting after 50 years. .
  23. We can hear their howls in the evenings sometimes. It’s fairly developed around us, and getting more so, but there are nights when we hear them and keep a close eye on the dogs during brief trips outside to do their business.
  24. I spotted a coyote walking up our street about 10pm recently. About the size of our smallish Golden retriever, but much skinnier and much more serious looking. We kept our dogs inside that night.
  25. Ah, just for that I’m going to mention it to him when he comes out of the bathroom. 😊
