Thank you for sharing. I like recipe threads, and yours sounds like the Browns recipe for disaster. Changing for the sake of change does not guarantee success, and if there is someone better out there…..why are they available? I like our path just fine. We can certainly do some things better, but I like where we sit. I wouldn’t tear that down after a single bad season.

Regardless of who said what (and I hope nothing stupid happened) this is such a tragedy. Take nothing for granted and appreciate the good things in life. Prayers sent to that poor family.

When I read something like the bold I have to wonder how that is defined. That could mean a lot of different things to different people. It’s all very relative. As for something in retirement, try for something you really enjoy. I’ve enjoyed tennis for most of my adult life. I wouldn’t mind working part time at a club or in a pro shop dealing with like minded people. You have something in common built in. That fits in with the golf comments earlier. Figure out what you like, and then find a way to put it into action. .

RIP Wow! I was just a kid and had no idea he was also the weather guy. To me he was Commander TOM! That was part of growing up for me.

Maybe I shouldn’t be snarky, but I watched a little bit, then questioned what I was doing and why. I stopped. Maybe I didn’t get far enough in to properly enjoy it. Good for him trying to make a buck or help a charity or whatever.

I wonder if our future safeties are already on the roster and will be slowly developed at the position until needed. We seem to be hoarding hybrid types of players, like positionless basketball.

I think the pay is about right, all things considered. 😋 Whether it’s supplemental income or just wanting some structure and interaction with people, I understand wanting something to do. I worked for a high end real estate company for a few years. I always looked forward to the Tuesday AM sales meetings and the speakers they would bring in. I enjoyed the interaction and learning about the city. I’m not really sure I want someone depending on me and cramping my (lazy) life style, but I was considering taking some college classes right before Covid hit. That may be my path to staying involved in some way without too much commitment. I have a friend who was driving for Uber/Lyft for a little extra cash and something to do. He learned about a lot of cool restaurants/bars in town, but I’m not sure he had a firm grip on just how much he was actually earning (or not, after expenses). Still, it’s almost like being a rolling bar tender. My wife will tell you I can chat at a bar like a pro!

I heard it live today on Cowherd. He latches on to certain things, like “defensive” HC’s, or our OLine hasn’t been fixed in five years, but he came off as completely unaware. I expect a significantly better OLine this year with at least 40% turnover. He’s just unaware or taking a stand right now, but either way I like it. I don’t think the hot white spotlight helped us last year, other than maybe preparing us for this year. .
