Is this where “going postal” comes from?

Along those lines, I have a new favorite memory today. We had about 20 people, including our 1 year old granddaughter, our 10 year old grandson and my mother who will turn 96 tomorrow. Four generations plus some great friends. I’m thankful for my family and some very dear friends who have been with us for Thanksgiving for a decade or two. Some friends are just like family, or better. These people we go way back with and they visit my mom every Sunday at the nursing home. It’s not THEIR mom, but they are true friends. Amazing. We are very thankful for these special people in our lives. .

Nobody quits, but a few nap at halftime?

Well, looks like they are going into halftime with 6 points. We can do that already, right? 😋 Looks like the Lions long, long tradition of giving us lousy football on Thanksgiving continues.

I’m with you and @Simon on this, fed up. Since I am generally a rule follower, I doubt I’ll steal a feed. I’ll do something they’d like even less, I’ll stop caring. I’m already losing my interest in NFL matters where the Bills are not directly involved.

I believe the current environment dictates that we now call that “Giving Him the Gugny”. 😋 .

I was one holding out hope that he could become a steady and complete WR. Sadly, it looks like that will not happen in a Bills uniform. I can live with that, especially when I keep hearing about how strong and deep the WR draft class is. We just need to nail one or two of those guys and we will be set with Diggs, Kincaid and the supporting cast.

It’s like they are trying to force us into stealing, because they are so over the top. How many different streaming services are they going to ***** out to? I wouldn’t mind having more than the free Peacock because I enjoy Dan Patrick in the morning. A few months ago he started to be live on radio, but delayed one day on TV. Obviously, getting the Friday show on Monday after a weekend of football is far from ideal. If that is fixed by paying $19.99 for a year, I’d want that. However, I think I’m going to draw the line by not getting something (on sale) that I actually want. That is how much I resent the hassle they have created in the name of more money. .

My father bet me $10 I couldn’t eat everything on my plate. GAME ON! That $10 was a fortune to this young kid! This is the holiday where eating disorders are born! 😂 Oh, and it’s about time the Lions got good, because their second rate football on Thanksgiving got old decades ago!

I can’t begin to imagine the panic that must have set in. This will be a Thanksgiving some families would like to forget.

I’m just glad the Bills aren’t playing. Thanksgiving games have not been kind to us. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We have about 20 coming tomorrow, including my mother who will be 96 on Friday. We don’t break her out of the nursing home lightly, but how often do you turn 96?

Pro Tip: Wear a poncho. You might get a little in your heels, but a wise move.

True. And it’s nice to be in the first world where there are certain expectations. 😋 It’s almost hard to believe that this is even a story, and I won’t shed a tear for these guys. But if you check into a Red Roof Inn (are they still around?) you have low expectations, but hot water is on the short list. When I travel I adjust my expectations. I am on occasion quite surprised by how different things are in places we think of as “civilized.” It’s normal to them, so who am I to judge? 🤷‍♂️ This hot shower thing falls into the life category of…..stuff happens.

He was probably giving away our secret handshakes, too! We need to keep some secrets!

If he had truly schooled him, it would be against his own best outcome. He’s more savvy than that, but I enjoyed the correction. Nice, now we move on.

Unfortunately, his best years under this contract have been seriously diminished by injury. You can argue not unexpected at his age, but he was performing very well prior to the injury. Sometimes you take a big swing and it’s not a home run. But I agree, there is no telling how close his play will ever be compared to before the injury just a year ago (almost). It might take more time to heal, while his window is closing. .

That is some lousy timing! We had a trip planned with our kids to NYC in November after 9/11. Nobody knew anything then. It’s a serious “what do we do moment???”, but we went. That’s months later, so maybe the shock was starting to wear off. But that was a very spooky experience. Things were still a complete mess and…..well, hard to describe. In our bedroom the wife has a framed poem our son wrote a few years later for a creative writing class. Along with the poem is a photo of the young boys standing with the wreckage behind them. Very emotional. Anyway, I highly recommend the helicopter ride. It’s hard to fathom when the pilot points to a dark line in the canyon wall and says we are going to fly into it. Excuse me?!?! As you get closer and closer you see it’s actually like a giant cove in the air. Both times my brain had a hard time comprehending how vast it is. The first time we did it I worried about the cost. I don’t remember how much it was, but I remember the experience.

How quickly people forget what Tre White looked like when he eventually came back. It’s not a Doc telling you you’re fine, so nothing ever happened. It happened, and it takes time.

We went a few years ago and stayed with old friends for a few days before we went to the Aria and my wife went to work an event. Our friends had a big surprise for us, which turned out to be the helicopter trip into the Grand Canyon. It was a very kind and generous gift. My wife and I shared a glance and never mentioned that we had done the helicopter trip when we were out a few years earlier. It is a great excursion, and it’s ironic that I type this while watching The Bucket List.

I cannot IMAGINE Tua surviving a game like that. But I’d like to see him try! 😋
