One of the first lessons I learned after college was one of the most important. I lived in a resort community with a lot of conspicuous consumption. I looked up to all the beautiful people who “had it made” in life. One guy in particular was a partner in the big law firm in town, lived in a house that I admired every time I passed by with Mercedes and Jags in the driveway and married one of the most beautiful ladies I’ve ever seen in my life. My view of the world changed when the wife comes to the bank where I’m working to beg that we hold off on foreclosure. She is sobbing and offering the jewelry she is wearing if we can just wait another 30 days. I started paying closer attention, and started to see a pattern. So many of the people who I thought were killing it were in over their heads with maxed out credit cards and past due BMW payments. Not everybody, but far more than you would think. What I took out of all this is it’s a mistake to compare yourself to how anyone else is doing for several reasons. The first and most obvious reason is that you really have no idea how they are actually doing. You don’t know what keeps them awake at night, but we’ve all got something, be it big or small. Don’t trust the FaceBook version of their life, there is more beneath the surface, and it’s not always pretty.

Our credit card machine is down, so it will be cash only for parking fees and cover charge. FYI Oh, and it’s BYOB! 🍺

St Joes, and it wasn’t a Thiesman type injury 🤮. It was just a scrimmage, and I limped for the rest of the year. I had no idea it was broken but I limped into the office of Dr Joyce, the Braves Doc who operated on the foot of my other leg. He said I had the wrong limp, sent me down for X-rays, and I got to tell my English teacher/trainer that the reason taping it higher didn’t work was….. I HAVE A BROKEN LEG! Who is the weenie now? OK, I feel better. Thank you for saving me the cost of therapy.

I broke that in a high school scrimmage against Amherst. Nobody really cared this much. 🤷‍♂️

I don’t know what will happen Sunday, but I’ve been at “road games” where there were clearly more Bills fans than home fans. It’s a pretty cool feeling. We travel well, and have the “advantage” of having people move from WNY to places all over the country. Heck! Go to a tailgate at a game in OP and look at how many people came from more than a couple hours away. It’s a LOT!

Why can we not focus? I was talking about an NFL sanctioned injustice, and some people want to bring up the rest of the season. London screwed the Bills out of a home game. Period.

Would our chances be better with a REAL home game? I think only an idiot would say no. Every game matters.

Every little bit matters, and THAT is a real part of our season. Do you disagree???

I’ve heard many here say you need to be committed, so maybe they were on to something. 🤷‍♂️

If we played the Jags AT HOME, our REAL home (rather than their second home), this is probably a moot point. Screw the NFL.

Then what the hell has been pooping on me? It’s one of my wife’s favorite themes!

I would be more richly compensated. I’m not giving up my secrets for nada. Pay me, and I will show the path.

I was at a friend’s house in Hilton Head while the kids had a play date. We had a FIRM understanding that the Bills game would be on TV, the entire time. When things were looking dark he changed the channel to the Kentucky basketball game. He thought I wouldn’t care. He was wrong. I went ballistic and sent him to his bedroom to watch UK on that TV. He went like a puppy with his tail between his legs. 😂 What a memorable event. I could only act that way with a good friend.

I was pretty confident he would be broken by now. Maybe he is, we’ll see more Sunday night. I’m surprised he made it this far, to be honest.

Flash backs. I get it. 😋 I think the hope was that Peterman the white board savant would rub off on the all world talent who was so raw. My best guess. The guy hung around for a reason.

OH! OH! THIS one I know! The correct lottery numbers are the numbers not on my ticket. You’d think I could get a single number here or there, but…….🤷‍♂️

We still haven’t done Christmas with our son and his family as they went to her parent’s in Florida. We are leaving the tree up until we finish with them. Not to mention, the house looks better with the tree up! 😂 It kind of fills a void in the room. I know it will feel odd when it’s gone. But it will be time. It can’t be Christmas every day. Now, what’s next?

You mean, like, our actual home? Or the “home” that Roger and the NFL gave us in London? You know, the Jags second home. If we had played that home game in our actual home, we’d probably be sitting with one more win right now. Yes, it matters Roger. .

There were certain exercises at the gym that made him uncomfortable. He finished his senior season with it, but it was never quite right. He doesn’t have the hand numbness that initially came with the hit, but there was enough weakness and discomfort to send him to a sports Doc a decade later. I guess it’s a bit like his leg with the surgically repaired ACL. Most of the time he’s not aware of it, but certain things, like letting the leg hang from a bar stool with the foot unsupported, will set it off and remind him of the injury. And this is just from being a good high school player! Imagine a few college seasons and then a few years in the NFL. I’m not at all surprised by reports of how difficult life can be when they get older.

My son is 30 and went back to the Doc a couple years ago due to a stinger he had in High School. It’s a stretched nerve, and nothing to take lightly. Please be smart with our franchise QB!
