Pffft! I was mesmerized by the shadows of the flames dancing on the cave walls.

A couple summers after 1970 we went on a little vacation across northern Ohio. I was probably about 12 at the time. We went to Cedar Point Amusement Park, the NFL HOF……and Kent State. They had metal statues on campus, and my strongest memory of that trip was looking at and touching where the bullets had hit those statues. It was moving as a 12 year old, and it’s moving now.

It might be time to put the shovel down and stop digging.

Well, this is going about as well as I expected.

When sports talk radio gets to the NBA, I listen to music for a while. Sorry, I can’t help you. I was a big fan back when Buffalo had the Braves and we split season tix with another family. My sister would babysit for Bob Kauffman who lived right behind us and would play around with us at the community hoop. Fast forward to when my kids were that age……we would bribe them when we were traveling to NBA cities. They were big AAU players and we’d get them to behave by saying we’d take them to the game tonight if we approved of their behavior. One weekday night in Charlotte the younger son turned to me about 5 minutes in and said “they’re not even trying!” BINGO! If they don’t care, why should I?

My system is trickier than I am smart, but I’ll put my wife or my 10 year old grandson on finding the closed caption option. 😋 Something (maybe Reacher on Prime?) has closed caption as the default. I tend to use it even when I don’t have to. I could really use it on Bodies. It’s odd, but I had zero problem understanding anyone in London. 🤷‍♂️

I’m on episode #6 at the moment. It’s funny, sometimes I even think I know what’s going on! 😂 Side note: between the accents and the mix between voices and music it tricky to follow every word at times. It’s almost like I’m getting old or something…..

Exactly. All of the above is the correct answer. Now, how would you rank them is a fair question, but it will be a different answer every year. We had the 13 second debacle which was clearly self-inflicted. The last 2 years we were devastated by injuries which were probably the main reason, at least in my mind. Oh, and the Chiefs are REALLY good, and they are beating everyone else too.

It’s impossible to answer without context. Are we losing in OT in the Championship game every year? Or are we going winless? As long as I continue to be entertained, I’ll be focused on the Bills. If they revert back to a garbage team, I’ll still watch (I always have) but they will have less of my attention. I don’t need a Super Bowl trophy to make my life complete.

Nobody is winning anything here.

I was trying to compare the new vs the old upper decks. It could just be an illusion, idk.

It does appear that the upper deck will be a bit steeper than what we are used to. I’ll have to wait and see it of course, but that concerns me a bit. Being closer to the field obviously sounds nice. It’s going to be different, people, and it’s going to take some getting used to. I liked the stadium in Tottenham and I guess this is similar. I sat in the bottom of the upper deck which was great. I meant to walk to the top to see how it felt, but beer and football got in the way. 🤷‍♂️

NewsRadio was a very underrated show, IMO. I know the tragic loss of Phil Hartman was a blow, but it seemed the show was not appreciated enough by the network. They tried to keep going by adding Jon Lovitz but it wasn’t the same. I wish there were more old episodes to watch.

This year was some DB’s but mostly our top 4 LB’s causing us to reach out to a traffic cone like Klein. Last year was an amazing string of injuries to DB’s. Like, pretty much all the DB’s. The 13 second year, well, as tired as I get hearing about it, they effed that up. Plain and simple. My life goes on. I don’t recall the details of the other year, but the teams in the playoffs are, in theory, the best teams. Sometimes you lose. 🤷‍♂️

The defense was playing with a guy at LB who had packed his RV and was on his way to the Keys. When you’re down your top 4 LB’s and a few DB’s, things can wear thin. I’m not making excuses, it just is what is it, and I recognize that. I’m not distraught, but I am disappointed.

If somebody changes someone else’s mind in this discussion, it just may be the first time in history on this topic.

The Chiefs have another gear we were unable to match with a crippled roster. EDIT: We are not alone in struggling vs the Chiefs in the playoffs. We are not some kind of singular failure. .

So, this is going about as expected. It’s tragic. I wish we could give it a bit more time before getting “there”, but I’m not surprised.
