  1. I think we have identified someone who has overestimated the quality of and confidence in their opinion.
  2. My wife got held up leaving NYC yesterday. All the flights got pushed back, and when she finally got to ATL all the shuttle trains were shut down. The original plan was not to get home at 1:00am.
  3. There is no way the brightest minds in football could “scheme me open”. We need guys who can just flat out beat you more often, but I’ll wait and be hopeful.
  4. It certainly has a whiff of incompetence to it. Do they think they are the first smart people to go down this road? Plenty of smart people went before them, and now they look clownish.
  5. OUCH! This one hurts. Not only was he great on TV, but my parents had some albums he did that I loved as a kid. It was my introduction to comedy. I am eternally grateful. RIP .
  6. That’s a fact…..I read it on the internet.
  7. I would say that around here, most of us have a higher opinion about the quality of our opinions than is probably warranted. 😋
  8. “Fair share” as defined how? It’s not a morality thing. There are tax brackets, and exemptions and write-offs and loopholes and all kinds of crazy stuff. It’s like contract law, what does it say in black and white? Play within the rules, and if you find a way to pay less, I can’t blame you. If it’s broken, you need to fix the rules (and that is about as likely to happen as term limits.) Personally, we owed more than expected when our taxes were done this year. I considered that a sign of good fortune. I hope we have to pay more in taxes next year. That would be awesome! But I don’t want to pay any more than I have to, within the rules. .
  9. WOW! That was going to be my answer. Ahmad Rashad for the win!!! I still remember listening to the post game show trying to get out of the parking lot, and not caring that nothing was moving.
  10. Doomed??? 🤷‍♂️
  11. I don’t think I even want to read your thread anymore…….. 😋
  12. I think this is just about watching football games.
  13. We have watermelon all summer long, but have never frozen it. I’ll give that a try! EDIT: It’s in the freezer now! 🍉 .
  14. I generally try to do one home game (preferably the opener) and one road game each season. I love the experience in OP and I love seeing new cities and venues, but that’s about all I want to handle in person. The comfort, convenience and overall experience of viewing from home is much better than it used to be, and I’m getting too old for the hassle.
  15. On a related note, someone tried to rob one of my bank branches……from the drive-thru. It was after 4pm so the lobby was closed. He pulled up in the first lane and demanded $20k in cash. The teller stepped back, out of his view, and he eventually drove away. She told the police “I knew something was up, he was the first person all day to drive up with a towel over their head.”
  16. Nailing a stud WR (or two) in the draft is sounding better all the time.
  17. I had a buddy in college who walked from a bar to some friends to sleep it off on their couch. He stumbled into the wrong house, then peed on the couch. He woke up to a lady and her son standing over him. He was embarrassed, but not as embarrassed as she should be.
  18. I actually had to stop it, I didn’t get half way thru.
  19. I think he has the internet.
  20. I don’t see how running in the wrong direction is very helpful. Although, Jim Marshall is kinda famous. 🤷‍♂️
  21. I know, what happens in Vegas…….and I failed. My apologies. Can I tell this in a recipe thread?
  22. The Texans are helped here by the Browns being the Browns.
  23. That reminds me……First time to Vegas and we were staying at Caesars Palace. It is hot. VERY HOT out by the pool. Some scantily clad young lady comes around with a silver tray full of frozen grapes. I didn’t know there was such a thing, but that was an exceptional treat I clearly remember a quarter century later. I still do it from time to time at home. You could stick a toothpick in it to get into authentic “popsicle form.”
  24. We did 2-3 nights in Paris last spring before heading to Italy. Then I went to the Bills game in London in October. My wife has never been to London, and I’m fascinated by the Chunnel. I’d like the next trip to Europe to start with London and the relatively quick ride to Paris, I think just over 2 hours travel. One night in Paris would be a very quick trip, but it could also be very memorable. We did a sunset dinner cruise on the Seine and it was one of the highlights of our trip. IF you go, that might be fun to look into as you see a lot of highlights from the water. EDIT: There are a lot of dinner cruise options, but on the advice of a local travel expert we chose Bateaux Parisiens and it was well done. One day in Paris is better than never seeing Paris, at least the way I see it. Then you can decide what you want more or less of in the future. I assume much of the ride would be like the trains in Italy, it’s not wasted travel time, it’s a tour of the countryside. .
