  1. But a certain QB who wore 15 did.
  2. Do the microwave stuff! My sister almost burned the house down using oil once. I ran down, opened the slider, grabbed pot holders and threw the pot of fire toward the back yard. I had failed to open the screen door after opening the slider, so the pot of fire bounced back into the house. THAT is how I expect this to go! 😂
  3. In baseball they push HARD to make it your 12 month sport, especially where we were in FL and where weather allows. They would say your kid will fall behind! When they called about All Stars one year to play 2nd base and be the leadoff hitter my son asked “Do I have to? Half the guys are standing around, and the other half are sitting.” He went on to more soccer, football, basketball, golf, tennis, weight lifting and all kinds of other things, and the baseball folks would have taken him back in a skinny minute if he wanted to play baseball again. It’s an environment that could be VERY easy to burn out in. It’s more than a sport, it’s like it’s own culture, from my experience. And at times it’s cult-like. I guess AAU sports of every type are similar, but grass roots youth baseball was wearing with the pressure to get more deeply involved. They were like they were on a damn Mission!
  4. As much as I hate to say it, it makes the Cowboys accomplishments even more remarkable. 😂 I heard a kid speaking at a rehab facility once saying “I was the Designated Drunk Driver. I didn’t know why everyone else was so bad at it.” He represented the Cowboys to me. He had a full ride to play at Penn State before his “detour”, so maybe he made it to the Cowboys one day. Some of the youngsters may not have heard of the Cowboy’s White House back in the day. Everything is bigger in Texas, I hear.
  5. I’m a bit surprised you didn’t just sense it, somehow. 🤷‍♂️
  6. It’s a great problem to have. You draft hoping that one day they will pan out and you have to make the tough decisions. Know which positions are priorities, and just keep drafting a RB every couple years.
  7. Beane has proven that he knows well it’s cheaper if you do it sooner. The player is eager to get a big pay day so settles a bit, while the market is only going to go up. It’s how Beane usually rolls.
  8. I wish he’d cut that out for the sake of that second round pick!
  9. I hope you let her down gently.
  10. Seeing this makes me wonder….how many did you have? I had wings for lunch today. A small order is 6 wings, and mine came with 7 on the plate. I can only eat about 4, which is really very little food. Some people can pound wings, but I just can’t do it any more. I went out to lunch with a friend once at a pizza joint. I go there and have a slice for lunch a couple times a month. I mentioned they had good wings too, and I’d be happy to split a small order so he could try them. I was thinking 6 wings, but he said they’re good leftover (YUCK!) so let’s get 20 wings. I ate my two wings, and he finished the rest along with his pizza. I don’t know if I could do that with a gun to my head!
  11. She secretly had feelings for me. I could sense it.
  12. There was a Duffs about 40 miles away in Newnan, GA that died during Covid. It was actually pretty darn good. I used to make that trip a couple times a year. There is an Anchor Bar about 15 miles away near KSU, a big college campus. I’ve tried them twice, and it was twice too many. .
  13. When Shakir catches the ball, the fun is just beginning. Very different than what we saw with Beasley or Diggs at the end when the only thing left was dropping to the ground.
  14. Something we didn’t do well last year was beating the teams we should beat. We just did that three times. The next three are more of a test than the last three, but we are 3-0 and have strung together 10 pretty impressive quarters. I’m always afraid of the next game, but I’m pleased with how we look and where we sit. We will not go undefeated, so let’s not all panic when we drop a game. We have a long way to go, and a LOT can happen.
  15. Have we considered that maybe the wife was playing the long game just to get rid of the cat? 🤷‍♂️ I’m not being cold, just reminiscing about Gug getting the fancy new kayak he’d had his eye on, or…….taking his dog to the vet. Something like that. This has a similar nuance.
  16. Maybe he will be the boost we need if we face them again in the playoffs. Injuries suck, but it’s nice to know we are playing like this now while we wait for two Pro Bowl players (Milano and Taron) to return.
  17. That’s, uh, not the kind of recipe I usually come here for.
  18. Check all boxes that apply. Lots of boxes, lots of options and potential outcomes. That’s why I always get anxious before it starts. A silly habit I know, but it may be genetic so it’s not really my fault. 🤷‍♂️
  19. I think the travel agent had a clue, but I won’t nitpick.
  20. It would be kinda cool if you could work in Shrodinger’s cat instead. It seems appropriate in this thread.
  21. I can’t say about the Jags fans, but I was surprised by how many Cards fans were at the opener. Every single time I mentioned it the response was “do you know how %^$#ing hot it is at home? It’s been that way forever! Buffalo sounded awesome!” It’s not 108, but it’s that time of year in Florida when you just wish it would end.
  22. Good point, and some things like that are genetic, so…….. 🤷‍♂️
