Bengals 1st RD Pick could go back to College?
BillsShredder83 replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
My main reason for taking Stewarts side (besides it being the Bungholes), is the vagueness. Thats a huge problem. List out a bunch of specific scenarios? Sure. But not some open ended excuse for the Bengals to try and pull guaranteed. The weirdest part to me, is doing this to a guy with 0 off-field issues... but now that I think about it, its probably the exact reason they picked him to try. If you try and break this clause out with a, say, Mike Green type character. Of course youre going to get a fight. Hes a dirtball, and dirtballs do dirtball stuff. So a character clause isnt going to go-over well. But if you try and set precedent with a squeaky clean dude, hope the kid says 'sure whatever, i wont be getting in trouble, lets go ball'. Then you can argue down the road with future troubled talents "hey we made Shemar sign it." Precedent is what's important. If thats the case, I get what theyre trying to do here.... but they should've just pulled it quietly behind the scenes, instead of instigating a full blown public brawl -- then proceeding to double and triple down. How is this team planning to field FA's next year? L-O-L! How many draft prospects are going to tell their agent, Im not even interviewing with Cinci? How are they even going to field a team???? You think squeaky clean players are going to want to be subjected to that? How about the Tyreek dudes of the world? Absolutely the dumbest crap I've seen since --- well --- Hendrickson L-O-L!! -
Id imagine Players Union, Agents, and NFL Reps are all working to try and find some type of general framework that gets everybody in the same ballpark... then teams and players can take it from there. Its not a real concern of mine. A whole class/round Isn't going to forgo the biggest and most needed payday, right before the finish line.

Bengals 1st RD Pick could go back to College?
BillsShredder83 replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
The most likely scenario aside from them resolving this, IMO is a trade (hilarious for a disagreement on a theoretical scenario)... What do we think a trade compensation would look like? Would be limited to a DE needy team, outside of division, and out of conference if trading team is a serious contender. Acknowledging the above probably puts us off limits, id give them Epenesa + 4th (maybe 3rd) -

No doubt. Hes not dropping to the 7th IF this happens but is definitely dropping atleast to like the 3rd or later. On top of that, if his career plays out the way he imagines, hes also not getting a 2nd contract (the big $$ one) until a year later. The ripple effect of doing this is just so huge. I think hes 100% in the right here, but pushing forward would be an awful decision by him. Just likw the awful situation Cinci has put themselves in. Imagine pissing off your top 15, future of the franchise... while also having s*** all over Hendrickson lol all while doing all this in plain sight, knowing you need FA's for, well, forever 🤣🤣. Absolutely ridiculous thing to do to your franchise over a theoretical, with a guy who's never had off field issues too. Unfathomable stupidity Too close to college season to try and lawyer his way back to A&M too He'd have to fight in court to get that right... and college ain't gunna roll over and accept that easily as it would be a precedent setter... unless for some reason it's beneficial for them to do so, and it could be?? But if it was, id imagine itd already be in place soooo 🤷 -
Commanders and WR Terry McLaurin still not close to a new deal
BillsShredder83 replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
What? Why did I think he was much younger???!!!! -
Absolutely could be bulking trying to slab on some muscle, and he'd have time to clean up the fat. Can't gain muscle in a deficit, and once you get to a certain level of ripped, every ounce of muscle gets harder to slab on. Easier/more productive to lift hard, pound ridiculous calories (to get your body to respond and push past plateau) and then peel back the layers. Look around bodybuilders in the offseason. Check out Lee Priest "offseason vs contest" to see the extreme end
-
Agreed. He was definitely heavier last year, I was expecting a brutal photo, and it couldn't be further from that
-
Josh aint exactly a getting a Victorias Secret cover himself either. I guarantee they are both freaking absolute units under that layer(s) of fat. Theres probably something to staying healthy with the few extra pounds on their frame. You cant exactly add 15-20 clean pounds (muscle) to their frames in an off-season or even a career. Can a guy who never stepped in a gym before get some "quick" (1-2years) gains like that? Sure... but these guys are physical specimen. Hypothesis: Jacked + 15-20lbs Fat > Just Jacked and 15-20 lbs lighter These guys are so heavily outweighed by every guy on the DL and 50%+ of LB's. Force = Mass x Acceleration , seems to sort of tell the story here

Absolutely bananas that they got extra picks for promoting a POC too LOL look i get it, "technically", but do the optics of that look atrocious L-oh-f'ing-L !!! Is that hiring a POC into a promotion = 3rd round comp picks still (i think HC/GM's only)? Im not trying to screw up my FO for picks, but at the same time we should only make POC assistant GM. Think decoy. Keep your best assistant GM (white/black whoever) under a lower title, pay him extra to be chill about it, and prop up anybody that could fetch us those picks. I know the 9ers have absolutely cleaned up with how many comp picks they've got under the Rooney-ish Rule. I wonder if theyre doing something like this -

Absolutely bonkers how fast he soured on them. 2 seasons total. Last year signed this deal: Funny they gave him this money after somehow in his FIRST SEASON THERE "Ramsey was regularly late to practices and would constantly undermine former defensive coordinator Vic Fangio and head coach Mike McDaniel." (from article). So this idiot started undermining his DC year one and ran Fangio out of town...... then they gave him a record deal the following year, meanwhile what did Fangio do? Go on to help put the Eagles over the top for a Lombardi lol I cant believe anyone would sign this dude let alone trade assets for him. On top of being a total douche, hes constantly hurt... sounds like a guy i wouldve traded for in Madden because his loud mouth in the media must mean he's good. Pitt loves these types and its baffling. Im all for taking an all upside bet/ zero risk on a guy with supreme talent (a guy disgruntled in one place only is kind of my rule) .... but paying him at the top of his position, after being a douche on your own team too. Absolutely baffling behavior by not only Ramsey, but by the Fins front office lol they deserve everything coming to them II know this will get s*** all over, but the guy was not put into a position to succeed either. I dont think hed make it as a head coach anyways, but that roster is not for some newb coach to handle. If Brady left us after the season I would take MM in a hearbeat!! Smart football guy, with great lockerroom chemistry... he'd have plenty of staff (and players with lockerroom respect) around him to help keep players disciplined. Id absolutely love that scenario to play out -

No kidding LOL holy hell, anybody thinking that needs a new brain (not at OP, as i didnt think you were implying we did). The media acts like the only way to get better is to sign the top sexy FA's, or trade up to the top of first round..... thats the stuff that gets clicks on articles so of course its what the media dwells on. I DO wish this offseason we had addressed WR with more urgency, but I generally liked the moves we made acknowledging they were 2nd tier signings. Our biggest progress came via the draft. Is it going to be enough to beat the Chiefs? This draft for 2025 alone, I don't think so. Rookies acclimate slowly in Buffalo, especially on the defensive side, as history has shown. Can this be different? Its possible, but I wouldnt count on rookies to be the difference to get the job done alone. IF we get over the KC hump this year, its going to be because our 2nd & 3rd year players collectively take a giant step forward, or maybe 1 or 2 become a rising star out of nowhere (a guy can wish). -
Maxwell Hairston named in civil lawsuit for sexual assault
BillsShredder83 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
True, although I (and more importantly an attorney 99.9% of the time) wouldn't recommend anyone take a polygraph innocent or guilty! Optics be damned, nobody should open themselves up to potential shenanigans and/or pseudoscience -

This chick is setting women back. The veil on 'believe all women' has been lifted thankfully, in exchange for a more even handed - wait till all facts come out. Not all men are guilty, not all women play fair... Both men and woman are capable of heinous chitttt. Hopefully this goes by quickly. -
nah, i think he retired too suddenly. i saw the article about him knowing he was retiring after playing us, and being used like a FullBack. Unless im mixing them up with a previous regime, MIA's TE usage is fairly friendly to a dude who wants to catch the ball more than block (Gesecki comes to mind). I dont think he changes their bad season projection at all, but I bet he has a pretty good year

Bengals bungling things up - new rookie contract clause
BillsShredder83 replied to The Wiz's topic in The Stadium Wall
Me neither. Im not a victim blamer, but these guys are at a higher risk of a false accusation, even the guys who are careful. There are women who weaponize this kinda thing (see Trevor Bauer, Araiza). A woman who wanted to do that to you, would have major leverage knowing about that clause to try and bully a dude into settling out of court an a baseless & consensual encounter. Wouldnt matter if i was the 2nd coming of Reggie White, Im not signing anything that says 'accusation or charge'. Its a dark thought, but a realistic one. Its painting a bullseye on your back. There are sufficient amounts of dirtballs in the NBA, but theres also a circle of hot females that target impregnations in the NBA as a paycheck. Itd be ignorant to pretend there arent women out there that would/have targeted this kinda thing before. Hell the Duke lacrosse lady did this, trying to get blood from a stone, those guys didnt even have sports money... was only going after mom & dad money. -

BillsShredder83 replied to The Wiz's topic in The Stadium Wall
If this is true, crazy to draft a guy this high IF thats such a major concern. Basically you took a dude you have zero trust in. Its like a last minute, day of wedding, pre-nup. I guess the story isnt very clear until we find out what "default" means. I'd guess the term 'default' is intentionally vague, not defined well... to try and give them leeway to get out for any reason they want to. If its a "dirtball" clause, and defined clearly ---i.e. "sexual assault conviction (certainly not 'accusation'), weapons charge, violence charge", sure Stewart should generally have no problem signing it. If it explicitly says the Bengals can get out of it for an injury, I think that would already be out there for us to know. Stewart would want to clear his name and prevent any 'tough guy to deal with' labels, PR battle. My final educated guess is broad/vague verbiage AND an attempt to be sneaky about it! They really are doing their best to go back to the cellar with the #3 QB in the league -
Ok I was with the other guy until now lol I will say every situation is different. Bengals situation is especially ugly because they have been shooting blanks in the draft. 45% on 4 players is excessive, but add in bad drafting and injuries amplifies how bad it looks. It'd be hard to let Tee walk, and this is why I want the Bills to run a WR pipeline.... It'd have been easier to trade him if you had a bonafide replacement behind him already on the team. You could get a nice haul and save money... or play the comp pick game. Im not kidding when I say next year we should be looking into moving up for a premier #1 WR, and then take a high WR between round 1 - 3 each year. Or 1st - 4th minimum. Josh is going to increase these guys value, which will make WRs harder to retain and fit under the cap. Soooo you can either swim upstream against it, or take a swing each year. Control costs. Keep giving Josh weapons, then worst case scenario we have some trade ammo, and we go next man up. Josh is who got Gabe that Jax contract, which tells me he had good value in a trade if done one year earlier. Recycle that trade back into the team or back into WR room

It may be a fair assessment here, but bad blanket statement. You don't not make moves based on a 5th rd, 1 year player. Dude would've got the same treatment if he was a 5-7sack guy. Can't count on him enough to pass up his players at his position, but doesn't mean the staff thinks he won't take a step either. Hes a mini project, low cost, high upside. Love these kinds of picks. Hopefully he makes us look genius Who was the dude that did this for us maybe 7 years ago? Was really fast DE, but ppl b-worded he took a looping route on his pass rush. Pretty sure he came from NE and or maybe Miami. I really liked him at the time but we cut him. Mark something maybe??? -

Straight up, I'm a thief ..... oh no how will my friends and family ever trust me again LoL Theres not a single corporate product or aspect of govt (essential or not) in existence, where I can go one full day without being ripped off a dozen or more times... just by opening my eyes in the morning. The working man in this country owes nothing to any of these people except for a tar and feathering. But yes, I'm gunna hold a vigil for the corporations as victims of petty theft, and ignore the gunpoint robbery the middle class is subjected to on the daily. 👌
