  1. Money Manziel! Browns QB! I'm sure his playbook was just off to the side....
  2. Sadly, they would start too even though I've never heard of Caussin. Barden was in Draft Day, I've heard of him. I'm getting off cheap, not even a case of Great Lakes beer? I have not had the pork chop ... now I want to go today. Sorry to hijack this thread!
  3. Even funnier all the 49er fans who are saying the same. I guess one's own fan base is always the most critical.
  4. Haha ain't that the truth. Worst winter ever here.
  5. Exactly. I think it would be tough for any team except maybe the Patriots, Denver, Seattle, someone like that, to bring him in of he is cut and stash him until next year. He has shown that he is not committed to his team or to football. For a team trying to build a winning culture, it would be a bad look.
  6. Everyone here wants him cut. Would ya'll want to pick him up if it happened? I think it might. Haslam says one thing, but Pettine wants these types gone.
  7. Yep - Columbus is a large, thriving, young city but the downtown area is not where I would put an NFL stadium if there were to get a franchise. It is so suburb-oriented. BTW people choose spend their money on what matters to them. That is why affluent cities with deep pockets and corporations like SD, Miami and LA can barely support a NFL team, but cities like Cleveland, Pitt, GB can and pack the stadium every week and wear their gear year-round, win or lose. Those other cities have a lot of other things they care about and the NFL team doesn't rank highly whereas football cities with their heart and souls tied to their team will find a way. Also, as a grad student at OSU I paid $90 for Buckeye season tix (student pricing) and sold for 5k. I sold my OSU-UM ticket one year for 7500. People like to spend money on football.
  8. I wish they had this for the Browns. However, there wouldn't even be enough good QBs to list $5 thru $1.
  9. I agree about the Jets being inconsistent last year. They managed to beat some good teams at home like NO and NE, with their DL, even though their offense did nothing. On the road they were pathetic. Of course, they beat the Browns but apparently Rex was fighting for his job (isn't he always)? I don't think they will be a good team this year. They will be challenge Miami for last place in the division. Their secondary is a huge question mark and they only addressed it with more rookies. I don't trust their offense at all, beginning with QB and is Decker their #1 WR? Good luck with that. I know they were in the playoffs a few years ago but not sure how many of those players are still there. Mangold, Harris...? Not sure how any Bills fan could think the Jets are a better team at this point. Last year was an indication. The Bills lost in NJ but so did Brady and Brees yet ya'll got tied up with EJ until the defense broke down on the long pass play. The Bills win that game easily with even part of your starting secondary but you were missing both starting CBs and starting S. 8-8 is the worst. No playoffs and mid round draft pick.
  10. Clearly Jim Kelly worked out for ya'll.... but I wonder if he would have tweeted out these photos if he was fighting for a starting job as a rookie? If he already had to overcome a size disadvange and adapt to a new style of play? Would he have been splashing his partying all over social media during his first minicamp if his coach and GM publically stated to the media that very week that he was significantly behind in the QB competition to Frank Reich? Maybe he would have, but my point is that it is more about the timing than the actual partying. Especially when the Browns very notably went out of their way to try to avoid distractions from the national media, and he just went right ahead and created it himself instead, knowing all eyes were on him. TMZ was following him, but he tweeted out photos himself too. Can't blame TMZ. What would you say if EJ Manuel did this in his rookie year, if it was the same situation and the team told everyone who would listen that he wasn't close in the QB competition after they traded up in the 1st to get him? Would you be impressed? Just saying how it feels to be a Browns fan.
  11. I REALLY want Brian Hoyer to be good. But he isn't a starting NFL QB. He only looked good last season compared to Weeden.
  12. This is the hard part, right? He just doesn't seem like Pettine's type of player from what I can tell. We all hope and pray in a city that has not seen a winner in a decade that he will overcome the size concerns like Russell Wilson did. I mean, why not? This is why not. Wilson won that job in Seattle by dedicating himself to becoming the franchise QB. In at 6am, out at 8pm. Meanwhile Matt Flynn was there only when he had to be. 24-7 means committing yourself 24-7, not that you are studying 24-7. Just not sure he is as focused as he needs to be to complete a transformation like this, and that's why I don't think people expecting him to be the savior of this franchise are going to be smiling this season.
  13. Subpackage should take care of that. The Browns played Detroit last year and they handled Cameron well.
  14. I don't get how so many people say that so-and-so receiver partied all the time and he is great one he is on the field, or that Justin Gilbert was partying in Miami all weekend too and posting IG pics and no one cares. Well, those players are not rookie QBs. NFL QB is a position like none other, as you said, face of a franchise and the most difficult transition to make from college to NFL and that is for the Andrew Lucks of the world who were born to be a NFL QB. Now you have a kid who has had 2 years of experience as a QB in college and trying to transition to a role in which he was never asked to do in college. Yet, he just doesn't seem committed to that.
  15. I didn't read the whole thread so this may already have been stated but I did read the article. I think CJ can be used a lot like Sproles in NO. Then you have Jackson and Brown not to mention Dixon to pound the rock. Exciting. Teams will be so worried about CJ and Sammy, you will have all kinds of options.
  16. PLEASE cut Fred Jackson. Signed, every other NFL team
  17. Ugh... it is so sad that I can go to a different team's website and see those fans lamenting the state of Johnny and the Browns. Embarrassing. Most of the Browns fans seem to be apologists for him, and I agree that he didn't do anything wrong. But I do think he lacks judgment. Partying in Vegas with Gronk of all people who has a reputation for his priorities being out of whack when that is the exact image JFF is trying to move away from? When JFF should be working on trying to win the starting QB job. Whether or not his weekend hurt this endeavor, it certainly couldn't have helped. Apparently his college offense did not even use a playbook. They had a game plan each week, but the plays were not dictated by the defense, they just ran a set of plays without using pre-snap reads. I look at the best QBs in tbe NFL and it is the exact opposite. Everything they do is dictated by the defense when they walk up to the LOS. He has a lot of adjustments to make. I am starting to think he is Matt Leinart without the height and national title. Also, he doesn't seem to be Mike Pettine's style of player. We shall see. Absolutely agree. I know that EJ Manuel wasn't perfect his rookie season (most QBs aren't) and hurt his knee, but everything he does is exemplary to try to win and get better. I see how much he is knocked around on this board and I understand that is what the board is for and of course his performance in certain games warrants it, but you are so lucky to have him.
  18. @nfl "[http://on.nfl.com/QVeC2X ] is going to be big this year... 1,200 yards w/ double-digit TDs"
