The most ridiculous tattoo I have ever seen
ChevyVanMiller replied to ET1062's topic in Off the Wall Archives
This one is not the worst artwork, but getting a tat of your panty-less wife draped seductively in your QBs jersey has to be the worst idea ever for an NFL tattoo. -

As you well might imagine, I'm overjoyed by the news. Long live Van the Man! -
Gregg Easterbrook on the Watkins Pick

Great analysis. Watkins' play will soon make every talking head that chastized the Bills for taking him eat their words. -
Kiper gives Bills low marks in draft
ChevyVanMiller replied to bisonbrigade's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I apologize if this point has already been made somewhere in the 6 pages of responses, but Kiper gave the Bills a C- because he felt that they overpaid for Sammy. He also downgraded the Browns to a B because he felt that Cleveland passed on Sammy (his #2 prospect in the entire draft) at #4. Talk about having your draft grade cake and eating it, too. -

Thinking outside the box with RD 1 picks
ChevyVanMiller replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed, but my hypothesis would only be for 4 drafts. Once you have those 4 elite players you would lay off for awhile, then go back to the model once the team started slipping in the standings again. -
I like to think outside the box whenever possible in life. I was thinking about Whaley's move to get Watkins and how so many talking heads liked the move, but said the price of an extra 1st was too high. The Bills moved up from #9 where there were no more premium players left on the board (at least in relation to their pre-draft rankings) and snagged a player that many believe is the most talented in the entire draft. Okay, so here's the outside the box thinking: What if the Bills made a similar move every 2 years? Every other year the team trades the next year's #1 away to move up in the draft and grab one of the top 4 or 5 players available. Over a 6 year period that would give them 4 superstars (in theory, barring busts). The alternative is to stay put and take guys like Maybin, Flowers, McCargo, Losman, etc. What do you think, revolutionary idea to success or pure madness?

I think Mike Williams is the veteran leader of the WR corps now. -
WR Stevie Johnson traded to San Francisco 49ers
ChevyVanMiller replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thank you, Stevie for being such a great overachiever and an easy guy to root for. I will remember you for many on-field plays, but also for your bang-on Halloween impersonation of Chan Gailey. Best wishes always. -
Golisano, Quinn & Brandon enjoy dinner together
ChevyVanMiller replied to Dirtbag's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Golisano and Quinn would be last on my list of local buyers. Golisano was an absentee owner of the Sabres that kept team payroll in the bottom third of the league. One of the great lines about Quinn was written by a Buffalo News scribe who said, "He always looks like he just rolled down a hill." With that said, when Ralph was still with us it seemed bleak that the team would stay in Buffalo after his departure, while now it seems nearly certain. So, whoever it ultimately goes to, I'll be elated. -

Houston looking to trade 1st pick (Buffalo?)
ChevyVanMiller replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Normally, I wouldn't see any team, not needing a QB, pay the price to move up to #1. What makes this interesting for the Bills is the new ownership issue and the fact that Whaley and Marrone (and for that matter, Brandon) could be lame ducks. They may be thinking, if we don't win this year we could be out by next season. -
Former Jills suing the Bills
ChevyVanMiller replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm glad they are suing for being underpaid, for a second there I thought maybe the team had over-texted them. -
RD3#73: Demarcus Lawrence DE43 or Donte Moncrief WR?
ChevyVanMiller replied to Astrobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm pretty sure that Kiper has us taking Lawrence in the 2nd in his latest mock. -
The biggest single reason why Niagara Falls is a prime landing spot is this man: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Howard_Milstein Milstein controls Niagara Falls Redevelopment and 140 acres of prime real estate just blocks from the Falls. He is bosom buddies with Governor Cuomo and headed the New York State Thruway Authority. Putting the stadium in Niagara Falls would allow the Gov. to swing millions of dollars in state aid to WNY and eliminate the eyesore that surrounds the state park at the Falls, all while lining the pockets of one of his best friends - win/win? You betcha! Oh, and if Jeremy Jacobs becomes the new owner a Niagara Falls stadium would be just mere steps from the NY State Park where his Delaware North controls all concessions - meaning he would make hundreds of thousands in AND out of the stadium each game day. The planets are aligned for a NF stadium and I would be shocked if other locales are anything more than token considerations.

Bills sign Punter Jake Dombrowski
ChevyVanMiller replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have no idea if this kid has an NFL leg, but Moorman shouldn't be any sort of a lock. He's at the end of his career, with a diminishing leg and he's already been cut once by the team. I have a soft spot for Brian, but if a kid comes in and can hang with him I wouldn't be surprised if he (pardon the pun) gets the boot.
