  1. As someone who has done it ( and got it to the catcher ) it's a lot more nerve-racking than it appears once you get on the mound. Rex acquitted himself quite well. On a side note: has any coach ever come into Buffalo and immersed and ingrained himself into the culture more than Rex has? He seems to have a deep and profound respect for the history of the Bills and WNY in general. Makes it pretty hard not to love the guy before he's coached even so much as a preseason game.
  2. Both Eichel and McDavid had 2 goals and 1 assist last night. Tonight is the night to ensure that one of them is in blue and gold next season. If the Sabres don't get this done, GMTM will see the fan base do a 180 and the bullseye will be squarely on his back. I trust he's smart enough not to let that happen. Time for him to let his lame duck coach know who is in charge.
  3. I think it was Flash, right?
  4. Definitely Jim's old house. I interviewed him and Jill at the dining room table that is seen in the 3rd or 4th pic. Beautiful property and neighborhood.
  5. This guy nails it: http://www.cbssports.com/nhl/eye-on-hockey/25135420/sabres-fans-would-be-crazy-if-they-didnt-cheer-against-their-team
  6. Correct, also assuming ARI loses all 3 of theirs. Essentially, there are 6 games left combined for the two teams. Any Sabres regulation loss or any ARI regulation win and it's over.
  7. What a great night, first the "stick" goal by the Sabres, then a clutch 3rd period and win by ARI. Just 1 more loss or Yote win seals it. Wow! The horse is in the barn.
  8. What an amazing ending to the Sabres game. Jonathan Freaking Toews is my new favorite player in the NHL. Yotes score to make it 2-1 in the 2nd. Maybe there's hope for them to steal a point from SJ.
  9. ^^Contrary to popular rumor, he did not kill Mama Cass.
  10. In an attempt to bring this thread back to a discussion of on ice events for fans that have followed the team more recently than 18 years ago, Jack Eichel's BU Terriers won today, 3-2, and will advance to the Frozen Four.
  11. Howard Simon loses it on the air over Bucky Gleason column. http://media.wgr550.com/a/103684907/327-howard-loses-it-over-tbn-column.htm Andrew Peters loses it with caller, goes after Howard. ( after 25:00 min mark and Jennerett interview) http://media.wgr550.com/a/103688045/327-hockey-hotline-hr-1.htmq
  12. That late goal by Gionta was a heartbreaker, but the OT win by the Yotes was nice redemption. 8 games left, 6 clear of ARI and 7 clear of EDM.
  13. Derrick Roy ( remember how much you used to hate him?) with the game-winner.
  14. Punchline. I guess "Every Tom Hanks movie ever made" was a bit of an overstatement on the YouTube description.
  15. Awesome. Touching the statue for good luck is going to be a new game day ritual, I'll bet.
  16. For those that have never seen the clip.
  17. Here's a more recent McCartney song that feels like it could have come from the White Album era.
  18. Unbelievable win. I started off watching the ARI feed and switched over to DET feed in 3rd period for some reason. Just before OT one of the Red Wings announcers said, "The point is meaningless to Arizona, but the Wings really need it." Meaningless? Man, I guess outside of Buffalo, Phoenix and Edmonton no one has a clue. Can't wait for Thursday.
  19. What a game. It took 3 years off of my life, but what an ending. Thank you, Lindy.
  20. Here is Manilow's "Very Strange Medley" of top jingles that he wrote. I bet you can sing along with almost all of them.
  21. Here's the guy responsible for the jingles hyping Hamburg Overhead Door, William C. Rott and Sons, the Original Pizza Logs and more. http://www.buffalonews.com/life-arts/radio/jingles-those-annoying-ditties-you-hate-to-love-20150321 I happen to think it's genius. Barry Manilow got his start writing all sorts of national jingles. What is your most and least favorite jingle?
