  1. Nothing like a 2 goal loss to calm the old nerves.
  2. Kid they got 2nd overall last year, Sam Reinhart, is tearing up juniors and was the leader and star player on Canada's World Junior gold medal team last month. He won't be a 60-goal scorer, but he'll be an annual 30 plus guy, with twice as many assists. He sees the ice with uncanny ability and has that rare talent of being able to anticipate where the puck is going before it gets there.
  3. The quiet Beatle covers Dylan.
  4. If you think about it the right way this has been the best Sabres year in a long time. Rooting against them has been quite fun and you're left with a positive night 80% of the time. Throw in watching the suddenly hot Edmonton Oilers win and it's a party nearly every night. All of the tank haters will come around quick once they see Jack Eichel tearing it up in the Blue and Gold next year.
  5. Fwiw, looking in the Trivia section of your links, Eichel went 25 slots higher than McDavid in the KHL draft. Here's a nice little piece on Eichel showing a few of his laser-shot goals. http://m.wcvb.com/sports/babyfaced-bu-freshman-jack-eichel-could-be-nhls-top-pick-in-draft/31345874
  6. Agreed. The debate over who was the fifth Beatle is an easy answer - it was George Martin.
  7. "Picture it, you and me in a darkened theater showing '50 Shades of Grey,' of course the one where they cover the seats in plastic."
  8. One of the great mysteries in rock-n-roll solved. The opening chord to A Hard Days Night was actually John, George and Paul each playing separate chords to create one of the most iconic sounds in musical history. http://www.openculture.com/2011/12/guitarist_randy_bachman_demystifies_the_opening_chord_of_a_hard_days_night.html
  9. He wasn't the greatest, but he did get them some points over the past week. Good news is that Scrivens will be back for the game against Boston tonight.
  10. Concerned about the injury to Farth in the shootout. Didn't look good, Edmonton now down to 3rd string goalie.
  11. UFO caught on tape.
  12. If time travel will ever be possible at anytime in the future, then it's already happened.
  13. It was touch and go there for awhile. Philly must have hit 5 posts. 26 games to go.
  14. But La Chambre, which bills itself as the premier swinging club in Great Britain purpose built for the hedonistic enjoyment of liberated couples and singles, got a black eye last August when a jury at Sheffield Crown Court convicted 45-year-old patron Jeremy Frazer Newsome Smith for the rape of a 22-year-old woman in a mirrored smoking room at the club. Smith, whos now serving five years in prison, allegedly preyed on his victim while dressed as Herman Munster, the Star reported. How can you write that column and not explain why a guy dressed as Herman Munster is stalking someone around a strip club?
  15. http://youtube.com/watch?v=jCiIBfEKCds&list=RDjCiIBfEKCds&spfreload=10 Now that I've learned how to properly add these YouTube vids, I'm reposting this one. Funny joke told by even funnier chimps.
  16. Thanks, Kiko.
  17. Pardon this deviation from the thread topic, but how do you get the YouTube vid to show in the post? Mine used to, but when I post now only the link appears. Thanks in advance.
  18. I'm enjoying watching Edmonton games on the nights the Sabres are off. What a burst by Yakupov just prior to that OT winner. 6 points to the good.
  19. Here's the pic of Darryl and I just before we sat down to talk.
  20. 3rd becomes a 2nd if Enroth wins at least 4 playoff games this post-season.
  21. Enroth traded to Dallas. Lindback(goalie) and a 3rd coming back - per Bob McKenzie TSN

  23. The voice of NFL films has gone to that great gig in the sky. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/12301982/nfl-films-founder-ed-sabol-dies-age-98
  24. Mentally, I think he's doing much better than he was back in November. Physically, he looks like he could still strap it on and play today, but he's very arthritic. He has trouble standing or sitting for too long. He said people always tell him how good he looks and he says, "Try walking around in this old body for an hour then tell me how it feels."
